Great course. Many useful tips for using reberb correctly or in a creative way.

Everything was really clear except i still had a little trouble understanding what mic impedance was. Great course!

Both this and the Advanced course (301) are excellent. I'm just getting into analog synthesis and Richard Lainhart's clear and concise explanations have really helped me to understand the basic concepts. Well done!!

Great course revealing some very handy iPad tips. Nice and concise with good information.
-Arthur Spooner
Knowledgable instructor but I was hoping for more hands on like sound design indepth rather than general knowledge
-David Senn
Great course, both for beginners, and a great refresher on the "core" knowledge of using EQ's. Clear and concise.
-BM Brooks
10/10! This course is a treasure-trove of information for dance music producers. Daniel Wyatt imparts detailed information in a clear and direct manner, getting straight to all the good stuff budding producers want to know.
-A. Spooner
Really good information and relaxed style I loved it. Wish he did one on R&b as well
-David Senn
Excellent course on mastering dance music using Ozone. Would recommend this to anyone interested in mastering dance music as the information here applies to mastering in general, not just using Ozone. Danny delivers quality information in an accessible manner. My one point to note when ABing examples e.g. Reverb, the bypass on/off of the audio example could have been left to run a little longer as the inexperienced ears might need a longer audio sample to compare when bypassing an effect.
-A. Spooner
Excellent tutorial. The presenter's pace and style is very relaxing and informative. Easy to follow along and apply what he's teaching.

Learn Sibelius in a practical way. I can not wait to take the Jazz band score. Thomas is breaking down in alogical way practical must have skills to master Sibelius. I did try other ways to learn Sibelius and I find this the most effective one ! in all of Thomas's courses he provides exercises and breaks things to a succession of simple tasks. I took notes of short cuts that I associated with Sonatina . soem of the segments I watched more than once to master them. I feel confident that my knowl...

This is one of the best tutorials I've seen in a long time. Daniel Wyatt has a very concise manner of teaching. He is very descriptive and explains fully, how to use the advanced techniques in his tutorial. The main thing I liked about the mixing tips, is that they were not same, repetative tips we see in many, many tutorials online. I learned a lot of things I've never heard of. The ones I knew of, went even deeper, and gave me a whole new set of skills to get my music to sound more advance...

I have watched most of Gregg Fines tutorials. They are good, though I am not a fan of his delivery style nor graphics. This course, however, really opened my ears (even though it suffers the aforementioned irritations). He develops the construction of chord progressions in a perfectly logical manner, but more than that, for each example progression he demonstrates, even though they are just piano, you can hear the hits that have been made with these progressions. The theory he gets into could be...

Really worthwhile - the series addressed several optimization issues that are pure gold, the only other way you would ever get to know them is by putting in the same amount of time as Peter has had working in this area. There is so much that can be done to squeeze every last drop of CPU and RAM from your system. He also provides a great introduction to Vienna Ensemble Pro and why it is useful. It is kind of funny, the course is called designing templates, which is only a small part of the syllab...

Short and to the point. Mr. Guttman addresses practically every question the novice would want to know (how to create mood using harmony, using rhythm, using combinations of instruments) and demonstrates these techniques succinctly and surprisingly easily, that is, with a bare minimum of instrumentation. This more than anything really helps the student focus in on the concepts rather than feeling burdened or overwhelmed by a massive score. Very inspiring! I really liked the use of simple still ...

I feel honored to be the first person to review this course. Thank you MacProVideo and Matt Vacaroro for putting out one the finest tutorials I have ever seen. This is a nice little introduction to Motion 5, giving you a quick overview of the interface and its related areas. It might be just enough to get your feet on the ground, show you some of the differences from previous versions of Motion. Score to Picture
Jan 12, 2016
This course covers the basics of importing video and working with it in Cubase. Personally I found the chapters dealing with basic midi sequencing rather pointless as the basics of Cubase are taught in other videos. Instead, it would have been nice to have had information about advanced ways to use, for example, hit points and more detailed tempo maps. So you might find yourself fast-forwarding a section or two, but the basic information presented is still valid, of course.
-Pecchan
For aspiring sound designer, this is definitely a must watch course. It outlined the basic of sound recording, sound design and several advance techniques which is easily implemented. Hope to learn more sound design course from Timo. I'm looking for it. Two Thumbs Up !!!

Such useful video. I really hope You do a remixing tutorial in Logic x. There are videos for remixing but they are on Abelton Live.

I've owned Ozone for awhile (versions 5 & 6), and have used some of the presets on my mixes. They sounded great, but I knew something was missing. Two things seemed mysterious to me about mastering: the order of the chain of processors, and the order in which you should work with each processor to polish your master. Daniel's course addressed both of these EXPLICITLY, and it made much more sense to me afterwards. Using his method, I went back and remastered something that I did prior to the co...

Another great video series from David Earl "SFLogicNinja". Even if you are a working professional, using Logic Pro X daily, you can still learn a lot from this course... A few things have been updated in 10.2 since this was released. But don't let that stop you from getting your mind blown. Lots to learn, and plenty of tips and tricks to make a daily part of your mixing workflow. This is a must watch!

Thank you Booker. I've been using Logic Pro 9 and some X for a while, but it was nice to take a step back to the beginning. I actually learned some things here and there that I never knew, which was the whole point for me. This would surely do the trick for users new to Logic Pro X.

Propellerhead should take note of how J is able to make so much seem so clear without going off track or getting bogged down in too much detail. I am new to Reason and it is my first DAW. I had been thinking that Reason is a large collection of tools with silly names, with many being similar in function but mostly they all behave in a similar way when you drag them into the Rack or Sequencer. After watching this course a couple times, I think I am beginning to grasp the overall Reason con...

Very clear and precise. It would have been great to have some kind of excercise files (or maybe the sound samples Joe is using) to be able to practice while watching but for some reason MacProvideo doesn't´ provide them in most of their courses. That lack of downloadable files is what keeping me to give this tutorial 5 stars.

Battery 4 Detonated

Great tutorial. It was even more than I expected. I started using battery 4 about 3 months ago, and I've been struggling with simple things, with how to turn of the verb and delay or change verb and delay. understanding the different tabs. This was a great course, it surely increased my knowledge of Ableton considerably. I already knew some stuff about MIDI and MIDI recording in Ableton but this course showed me a lot of things I didn't know about. If you don't have any knowledge of MIDI this course is essential. Bill is also a great teacher, he explains things very clearly. 5/5!

Mixing R&B
Dec 22, 2015
Parts are corny and the first half is a bit long in the tooth but overall some good pointers on creating dimensionality in the song. It would be nice if David used more modern tools (LPX and Ozone) but this may be an old tutorial.
-Funkfan
OK, I guess, if you're into highly processed EDM. It's always better, IMHO, to create tutorials using real-world musical instruments and vocals because people know what they are supposed to sound like.
-Jazzfan
Great tips!

Although this doesn't course really give a clear picture of the process/headspace of mastering, it does present a very clear idea of the balance of the tools that are commonly used, and provides great audio examples. Absolutely worth the watch!
-Patrick
Another great course by Mathew, he really is so precise in his description. This has helped me a lot with my knowledge of Cubase.
-Micko
This course was so helpful to me. I was totlly in the dark about the powerful midi editing capabilties of Cubase until I took the course. 10 out of 10 for attention to detail.
-Micko
Great course, very indepth, I learned a lot from it. A lot of functions were covered here and I fell better equipped to use Cubase going forward.

Mastering Toolbox
Dec 17, 2015
I found the video to be in-depth while relating to practical usage of the various plugins and usage of the tools. I also felt that this program was focused on a go-to approach with specific plugins but also stressed to fact that using mix references is essential which I feel is also very important. It was presented in a very systematic way for both entry level to more advanced users. Well done!
-GBG
This is definitely the best training course on Logic Pro X on the internet. Interesting. Clear. Well-explained. Great teacher!

I really like the presenter's voice and style of presentation. Very understandable and easy to grasp.

I was an Ableton Live user for quite a while and I switched to Logic because of massive amount of things it comes with (sounds, samples, presets, features, plug ins, ect) and this little course helped me move back into my comfort zone with producing. I felt lost without Live and I tried watching tutorials for beginners on youtube but none of them were actually for beginners lol. This course really gave me the foundation I needed to start really learning this program and I'm very glad I took it

Excellent. Wish I could view more tutorials by this Chris Butcher!
-Martian Cocian
Incredible depth and detail, explained in a pleasantly simple and comprehendible structure. Thank you :)
-Innocent Muisha
The course does what it says... Gives a nice overview. I wish there were more specific Cubase courses for electronic music. Or courses that beyond the "how to" into more advanced techniques.
-Beaucrat
Very nice delivery and an acceptable pace. Jim went through some basic concepts and build them up to a workable rate.
-JC Veille
Simple, to the point, entertaining, and a great real-life example of how to set up a recording of a song, perform digital editing techniques, and pull the mix together. Highly recommended!

This is super informative and really helped with some of the big questions I had, like how on earth am I going to learn what articulations to use and how to use them in a DAW and how to set up a template. If you are a Cubase user I'm afraid you are out of luck. There is no mention of it and as Logic, Pro Tools and Ableton Live are all covered, it seems a bit slack to leave it out considering it's well up there along with the other most popular DAW's. Let's face it, Hans Zimmer uses it! Having s...

I truly enjoyed this course and I worked alongside Olav as he explained things. I used to be very intimidated by Ableton, but not anymore. Olav is one of my favorite teachers on here. Great job!
-Chaeya
This was the third tutorial by Olav that I've watched and I really enjoy his teaching style. He goes slow and gives you enough details so that you can begin working right away.
-Chaeya
I found this course to be an accurate description of the different styles of dance music. It was nice to see them broken down and all of the details explained with a little history thrown in.
-Chaeya
Entertaining, engaging, and thought provoking! I fully enjoyed this course, thank you Peter Schwartz! The instruction is top-notch, and the music used for examples is tasteful and enjoyable. The corny jokes are great, too--if you're into that sort of thing.
-Darin Martineau
Enjoyable course with a simple but effective approach to the mix. It's nice to see things that are not over complicated. Unfortunately video 24 - Lead reverb cuts off before it finishes. That would be worth fixing.

Good tutorial review highlighting the perks of EWQL Play Engine and it's libraries in practical applications: 1. Ra, 2. Ghostwriter, 3-4. Ministry of Rock 1 & 2, and 5. Pro Drummer. Some minor improvements: I found 'microtuning' was not explored enough' A more indepth review about 'Microtuning' feature found in RA and how it affects the patches would be appreceated (I couldn't distinguish it when I used it on some patches?). This video series give you a good overview of a workflow in NI machine. It is a bit dated now since he is using Machine 1.8, and a lot of the things he is complaining about have been altered in newer versions of the software. Since a specific version of the hardware is mentioned in the title, I was hoping for a more hardware focused workflow, but he is mousing to much for my tastes.

A great rundown of the instruments, notes and harmony used to create modes in film scores.

New Features
Nov 29, 2015
A good overview of the new features in Ableton Live 9.5. All features and devices are of course demonstrated on their own, but they are also demonstrated in a musical context.
-Trond D
I liked the course and I can say I learned new things and it reinforced some things I had previously learned. I would not, however, describe it as a "101" course. It is more of a sampler course. Tammy introduces various concepts but does not delve far into any of them. She could have broken this into 3-4 more in-depth courses. Perhaps she will?
-Beaucrat
My only experience with digital recording was using Garageband. Having recently upgraded to Logic Pro X and using it for the first time, I realized that I was in way over my head. A tutorial for the absolute beginner was what I needed. This course is a general overview of main features of Logic Pro X. I really liked that it explained to me what the different buttons where for, where they were at, provided keyboard shortcuts, etc. The presenter speaks with a clear voice and proper pace and e...

Daniel walks the wievers through a solid workflow, and gives very good advice about how to approach mixing and how to structure and set up your mix. But in the videos he doesn't always follow his own advice. At one point he shows a limiter on a track which adds about 4 db of volume, but the meters on the plugin tops out at about -4 to -2 db. So the limiter doesn't actually do it's job (limit the level of the sound), it only adds volume. At other times he does the same kind of thing with comp...

Glad I came across this course. While some knowledge on theory was familiar to me, was amazed at how much I didn't know. This course will lead me to more independent study, which is much needed. Glad this one jogged the old brain on the importance of theory!
-Excellent videos!
This one really stands out, both teacher and tutorial. It was a pleasure watching and listening.

This is an exquisite course. It succinctly guides you through all of the critical aspects to setting up complex yet optimised sample orchestral templates. It has genuinely saved me months of time otherwise having to read a large book on the subject; and has revolutionised my workflow. Simply exquisite.

This course opened my eyes to how robust the EastWest libraries are for composers. David Earl is an outstanding instructor going through the libraries on a guided tour and explaining how they can apply to a variety of music in any composition. His pace is great for beginners who want to know the ins and outs of the graphical user interface of PLAY. I enjoyed all the libraries in context with the compositions David shared at the end of the course. I am hoping he will create a course going more...

Such a useful Tutorial course. I have just signed up for Composers Cloud Complete because I needed some Instruments I don't yet own and this tutorial got me straight up to speed for working with EW Play. I am now watching the 103 Tutorial on Specific Libraries by Eastwest. Great stuff. Showing it with Cubase would have been helpful.

Peter Schwartz is THE expert at notation using Logic (and he's NOT deadly-dull). He doesn't just take you through the various features one by one -- he shows you the best way to get things done quickly (sometimes counter-intuitively), knowledge that can only be gained through long experience with the program and craft (unless you have the benefit of this course, in which case you just shaved a couple of years off your learning curve). If you want to get the most out of Score Editor, please take ...

A great course. Diego has a passion for what he does and this comes through. Lots of great ideas to help you break away from the more common techniques. It has given me a drive to get experimenting with different ways of recording, processing and gathering sounds. As Diego would say, it all starts with your imagination.

In the course of my watching these tutorials I'd heard of some of these short cuts/key commands mentioned, it was great to go through them here and sort it all out. Many notes taken, but requires actual work on keyboard to engrain them into my tiny brain! Well done. While I think of it, is there a way to take automation that's been created and invert it? For example, if you've carved out automation on a track (delay, vol, etc.) and then want to apply the opposite controls on another track. S...

Recording Strings
Nov 3, 2015
Piggybacking off of what Spence mentioned about swapping seats and altered tunings (which can cause their own set of issues) is to have the players do one pass with mutes on and another pass where any vibrato is removed and played straight. This really helps to define parts and add texture without the issues of tuning being skewed.

Hi Matt, Great tutorials as always. Just a quick thing about the DrumLab Midi Transposing tutorial. Though I loved your workaround, it got me thinking & found another & perhaps better way of doing it. Go into the options tab & create a Maschine KeyMap for it. I just tried it & it worked. A good course, but all the Photoshop courses on MacProVideo seem to have the same problem - that is, they follow a linear teaching path rather than a pyramidal one. In this case, that means an exhaustive discussion of selection, and a little on masks, but with not much explanation of the context in which they are used. How do layers work? How do masks work? It would be much better to give a high level view of the forest rather than exhaustively following a few paths to some particular leaves ...

Beginner's Guide
Sep 29, 2015
So I'm 64, a programmer since the early '80s and almost a year-old Ableton user. I'm too smart to take Bill Burgess's intro to Live 9. Not! He is so low-key, but understands things so well that I'm inspired on every lesson. He's a wonderful teacher!
-Danny Kotcher
Good, DTE, Honest approach to makig your usic sound good with all the aparatus that ableton give you. great work
-Kirby
Great tutorial - covers a lot more than just drums, there's loads of information on sampling and modulation. This one and the beginner's guide to Ableton are the two essential courses in my opinion. After that, you can pretty much learn the rest on the fly.
-colinxy
Clear, straight forward and wonderfully produced with great examples.
-Eric Freeman
Great course that helped to improve my images. Andrew is explaining the tools with lot of passion. Thank you

I thought this video series was excellent! Really enjoyable and inspirational! I don't think this would necessarily help 'beginners' because it really does assume you already have a grasp on a lot of foundational things and moves at a quick pace, but I don't think this is a negative, just something to be aware of. Hope to see some more videos with Diego Stocco! :D

Motion 5's updates are well explained in this to the point tutorial, kudo's!!!

A lot more to this update than I'd previously known. Especially the midi and record settings, as well as the more obvious but none the less exciting addition of Alchemy. A great synth indeed!

Another excellent synthesis course by Rishabh. Even if you don't have Logic, you will add to your knowledge of synthesis by watching this course. Rishabh's style is clear, easy-to-understand, yet detailed and in-depth. Thank You

I really enjoyed this course, and I am eager to see what other topics Booker has covered in the realm of audio production. He speaks in a very simple and clear language that is not condescending, and although I am not familiar with his work, he filled me with confidence that he is an actual professional musician.

Fantastic tutorial. This tutorial may be brief, but it's jammed full of some brilliant and inspiring ideas for getting unique sounds. An absolute must-watch for anyone into creative sound design.

Lots of good information here but as a WordPress video it's out of date. There is still relevant information regarding the general principles of WordPress, but if you are wanting to follow along with the current version of WP you're out of luck. Minus one star here. Presenter is clear and goes into good detail about the features and usage of WordPress, but overall the course spends too much time on areas and programmes that are extra to WordPress e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop etc. Minus one star ...

Great tutorial. I learnt more here than I did taking Web Design classes in college. The examples are detailed, in an ordered and clear manner. I love that the trainers provide information about the background for certain aspects of HTML usage. I find this helps in understanding why things are done the way they are. Creating Titles
Aug 30, 2015
I have found the Basic Title Tool that is built into Media Composer to be just enough to be able to construct nice and professionally looking lower 3rd's and other titles on screen. It is fast and flexible and very easy to use. Your titles become immediately available within a bin of your choice right in your project, ready to be edited in straight to your timeline. For animated titles or 3D objects and text, you are going to have to try the other flavor of titler called the Marquee Tool. Overal...

Great review of Media Composer 6 to keep you up to date with the numerous new and exciting changes within the application. -Zahari Schtonov
Organizing your footage while importing it for editorial is a crucial part of a successful workflow and completion of any project. This course teaches you all the important steps and considerations to take so you keep everything under control. I would say this is a good overview of an amazing new creative tool in Logic. David Earl is obviously enjoying himself as he explains (and plays with) all the various functions of Alchemy. This tutorial definitely has enough info to get you going although it would be really nice to see a more in-depth course showing all the features in greater detail as Alchemy has so much going on it definitely warrants it. With the many paid and free tutorial sites on the internet difficulty arises determining value. With free video one watches someone perform what you could do yourself through trial and error, and I suppose familiarity is gathered. Paid sites such as this can offer a personal perspective of a tip or technique from the author of a product or skill not found in a walk through video. Rarely do I watch a video and the author has made a mistake and then explains the steps to rectify the situation. The...

Ableton Live 405: DJ'ing with Techno and House by Noah Pred is one of the few and most valuable MPV courses that focuses on live production. Maschine 2.3 New Features Explored is a great follow up from either of the Maschine 200 level courses on MPV. Even though I am a seasoned user of Logic Pro X, this course was one of the most informative Logic courses on Mac Pro. It honed in on a lot of features that I may have overlooked a while back, and also refreshed/cleared up some cloudy areas in which I had forgotten over time. Atlanta Logic Trainer is one of the most informative trainers I have viewed, as he does not cut back on the details.
-spaceprodigi
Loved the tutorial! My band is flying to a gig, and I was unable to take my keyboards (along with about 200MB of custom samples, splits, layers, etc.) Within several days of watching these tutorials, I was able to totally recreate my rig, and create a 20 song playlist. This is a much needed course for those who are new to Logic Pro X. Having used FCP7 for years on my old Mac Pro, I decided to buy FCPX for my new MBP. I did this on the same day that I had a job come in that I had to turn around in a week. This was a three-camera shoot with several mics (a school musical). Anyway, suffice to say that I was very glad that I had a Mac Pro Video Pro Account because I was able to dip in and out of all Michael Wohl's tutorials and find out just what I needed to know to get up and running. I'm a massive fan of Michael's work....

Superb review. Not too slow and not too Fast.I kind of gave up with Flash but what I remember now, makes sense.

I found this to be an excellent course. Everything is explained very clearly with plenty of graphics and videos to show exactly how to set things up. I have a nice old (mint) Roland SC-88ST Pro sound module that has been sitting on a shelf that I've wanted to put to good use and now I have the tools to do just that. Thanks, Booker, for a great course. I also bought the advanced course, #114, I believe and it is excellent as well...picks up where this course leaves off. Well done, thanks!!
-Ivan Dubinsky
Great course as always by Matt. This tutorial was straight and to the point.

Session Horns Pro has been a great introduction course covering it's implementation in Kontakt 5. The tutorial covers the overall structure of the software. I would like to see some performance videos or more in-depth information on horns in regards to the perspective and knowledge of a bedroom type music producer. Overall, it did what was expected, and could lead into a great next level course!

I have been using Logic with external midi since the Atari days and have over the years absorbed the changes in midi modules and in logic itself. Recently I have started to integrate my old equipment back into my composing process and I found this course to be really refreshing. Some stuff I knew already, but I also found new approaches via Logic x which I will be able to use. Really well constructed course. I watched it all from start to finish. Clear, concise and accurate. Thank you.
-Simon
Logic Pro X 113: External MIDI Basics has been a great supplemental tool for my current college course which involves using MIDI sample library instruments for creating cues. This is entry-level MIDI knowledge in comparison to how complex some MIDI programming can become. This course covered the foundations of MIDI in Logic Pro X, while including a section on using Maschine within Logic / DAW. I learned some things I didn't know before, and overall, the time I put into this should come back to ...

GREAT Tutorial, as Always!!!

Excellent course with good pacing and clear videos. Very obvious that Michael Wohl knows Motion 5 well. I learn best by working along side the videos and wish there were downloadable lesson files, even at this early stage. Example, lesson 11. Simulation Behaviours, it wasn't stated or shown how the the vertical "Motion 5" was created. Seeing the results I figured it was done with individual text letters instead of a full words. So, that's how I made mine and it worked. Later, I tried it by typin...

What a great course. This is the best drum synth I know of, and it's pretty intimidating to work on, but with this information you will be able to give the first steps with confidence and go beyond simple things. Every time I use it I'm surprised by what it can do, and with this course you will be able too.
-Hindie
The advanced MIDI course on orchestration template techniques is great! I am currently doing the same work using orchestration to sync with video in Logic. This class helped me understand and create more effective templates for better workflow. I recommend it to anyone doing the audio courses on MPV

This is from the best synth tutorials I have ever seen! Great explanations with a very useful info. The author has both an excellent knowledge and a talent in sound design and he is with the synth are a great match! The only thing , which is not in details, is how the numbers in the sequencer related to notes. After all, It's an excellent tutorial for an excellent synth :-)
-EnGee
Marvellous tutorial. Watched the whole thing first and plan to work through it step by step for training. Love the sound achieved and techniques used, particularly as only Logic is employed. Highly recommended.
-Will Humphreys
Easily the best audio-related course I have ever taken. It answered so many questions I had about Logic and about recording in general. The instruction is clear and the instructor is entertaining. (He wants more bong!)
-Brian
I'm usually hyper-critical of tutorials, but Peter Schwartz got this right!! Comprehensive, but easy to follow, I wIsh I'd watched these before wasting time and money on VEP5 "experts." Amazing job.

It was a great course, I've been recording, mixing, and some mastering since 2002 have read a few books about it all so I knew some of the things talked about, but it was really cool catching up, and learning some new tools about the trade. Thanks for putting it so well.
-Jim Wilkinson
An excellent introduction to Session Horns Pro. Matt's comprehensive overview opened a lot of doors for me in the program. Some things I would have completely missed. Many thanks! And I agree, this is an instrument that requires some dedicated practice to play convincingly. But the results are wonderful.

Well this was much better than expected. I had no idea ST3 was so flexible and useful I just thought it was a massive sample library but Matt shows everything that can be done with it. I certainly was not getting the most out of it. And Matt has a very good style of showing you how things work too.

-Ru Binkis
Very good intro tutorial for new users of Illustrator.

Pretty good run through of all the main functions, wasn't expecting to see a detailed breakdown of every last component, as that would triple the length of this course. Still managed to pick up a few things i missed on my own though.

MIDI Demystified
Jun 21, 2015
This is, by far, the best explanation I have found for MIDI, period. Most books on the subject I've found are very obtuse and most seem to presume previous knowledge of the subject. Not this series of video tutorials, however. Peter Schwartz really knows his subject and he presents it in a very interesting and compelling way. Not too much technical gobbledygook but all the info you NEED in a way you can understand. Personally, I enjoyed the humourous interludes as a way to lighten up a potential...

Fantastic Tutorial, well narrated, and very helpful. As a producer and guitarist who is looking to create some hybrid genre music, this course has given me a lot of inspiration. Hope to see more like this, and perhaps something on bass lines as well. Thanks MPV for all your tutorials.

Finally a fantastic course on the PLAY Engine. This a topic I always wish MacPro Video offered and now they delivered with a superb instructor, David Earl. I really liked how David showed the integration of the PLAY plugin into various DAWs. He went step by step through the interface with clear and concise explanations and excellent examples with a variety of instruments loaded to hear and get familiar with different libraries. I was also impressed with the integration of Sound Flower to red...

Great introductory course, if you can't up and running from here you're hopeless.
-Ru Binkis
Thanks Gregg. I have watched your series music theory. the most valuable, priceless theory that you had simplified it. I studied Theory of Music in school, but you have packed every thing in all your courses perfectly. and Now the Guitar and Pop Arranging. Outstanding Gregg. I hope you have more courses for us. Thanks
-Thieu Nguyen
OK course - definitely not meant for EDM producers or for new Logic users. MPV should not label this a 100 level course since it assumes the viewer is intimately familiar with Logic's features/functionality.

This is a very good course on Analog and FM Synthesis by Richard Lainhart. He explains the subject very well. The teaching method that he adopts makes it easy to follow and digest. He gives good practical demonstrations with the hardware and the software synths and offers some useful advice too. He also includes some theory which I personally welcomed as it helped me to understand what's happening and it gave me food for thought with Synthesis. Well done Richard and thank you for this. Beginner's Guide
Jun 14, 2015
What a great start. I'm so happy with my choice to ditch the $10,000.00 for production classes, and I was convinced I made the proper decision right from the start of Bill's first lesson. How, why and humor in-between. I've completed the entire class outline, on to 201 and I should have the rest complete in about 6 months (So much content, it's great)!

Hello, I eagerly want to recommend this tutorial for Steve H is just a great instructor. His speech is clear and he does not talk too quickly or too slowly. Everything he explains is well explained and what remains unclear is probably in the next sculpture tutorial. Furthermore, Steve advises when the student should practice by himself. If you want to take this course, you should know that it helps to have some basic knowledge about sound (LFO, ADSR), physical modeling and midi. Thank you Steve,...

These tutorials should be used for EVERY youth that wants to LEARN Music Theory. The efficacy of ability to comprehend and RETAIN information VITAL to creation of meaningful Melodies is extremely high. I am able to recall things I was taught almost 50 years ago, and associate things I picked up over the years with ACTUAL FORMAL Terms, so that I now UNDERSTAND what and WHY I was doing certain thing a certain way: AND WHY they actually worked. Olav shows great competence and flair, and his instruction is at a really good pace for following along. This video series is great for learning not only hot to replicate various types of drums, percussion, synth and bass elements, but also a very good basis for designing all new original sounds on your own. I think my entire audio I.Q. just increased by 400%. The term "demystify" means "to make a difficult or esoteric subject clearer and easier to understand". If there's any tutorial that fits this term, it's definitely this one here. First of all, i have no experience in effects modulation whatsoever. This program came with my Komplete bundle and my only interest in it was that Matt was the instructor. Having just watched his series of Kontakt tutorials and Monark Demystified, i figured i'd watch...

I'm a visual learner, so these video courses are really helpful in explaining how something works. For this particular course, Polyplex has a lot of customization, this course covers all of the aspects of this instrument in detail.

I am an experienced bass player / guitar player but nowadays I focus on experimental electronic music. I needed to go back to get some basic progression theory that may be useful to my compositions. Pro Tools 201: Plugins Explored has been a great accompaniment to my Pro Tools 11 Ignite book, and two Pro Tools college classes. I would have liked to see some more advanced or even 3rd party plugins from the Pro Tools cloud store or elsewhere, but this course does cover the standard Audio Suite of plugins very well. Would be interested in a Pro Tools 12 course similar in nature to this one.

Monark Demystified
Jun 8, 2015
Matt does such a good job at translating complexities. I've seen other tutorials on Monark and none of them explained how it works, they only showed what the video-poster does with it. I thought this tutorial was just gonna be a basic overview of Monark but, it's a very detailed breakdown of every function of the instrument. There's no need for Matt to show us what he does with it, even though he educationally does... you'll walk away with knowing how this thing works!
-H2O Atlanta
Very good course on Photos. Goes into good detail about all the features and the way it compares to the iOS version as well. I'm sold on Photos now!

I have a lot of great notes after completing the music business 101-104 courses on MPV. The synchronization license workarounds in the industry and information that isn't necessarily textbook material is what I think makes this course worth your time. There is definitely more ground to cover, and an advanced business course series would be a great addition to the business content on MPV.

Man, i know so much and so little at the same time right now. So much more than i knew yesterday and so little in comparison to what i'll know after i've applied these courses to how i'll use Kontakt. I really love the 6 tutorials in the "Using Instruments to their Fullest" chapter. I think a lot of people would revisit these engines if they thought of them the way you've explained. I've gotta go make some music right now, be back for more courses tonight!
-H2O Atlanta
Peter Schwartz is a master teacher. He ernes 5 stars because I believe he has a deep and broad perspective, combined with practical implementations ready to use practices and workflow. Combined with other courses such as orchestral moods I witnessed my growth as a composer and songwriter grow exceeding my expectations. My end product film scores and songs have higher artistic value depth and maturity than even before. A must take course. If I may suggest more exercises and small now do this ...

Music Business 103: PRO's may be the most valuable informational business course MPV has to offer. The information presented is highly relevant to any artist or publisher, especially up-and-coming musicians. There are visual additions included for all the mathematical splits that would otherwise be dry material if taken in from a text book. I highly recommend this course to anyone involved in the music industry!

I just bought the Maschine Studio last month and I've never used Kontakt/Komplete until now. Everything on the interface was so foreign to me that it all looked like something i'd never learn to use. But this course put me so far in the know that I'm nowhere near lost anymore. I really appreciate how the instructor gives a quick but very informative run through, on how to use a lot of the Kontakt instruments. I'm about to watch the Advanced Course right now!

I have had Reason for many years and I have been able to do some decent things with it, but I never felt like I was getting my moneys worth. This tutorial reinforces things I already knew, and re-energizes my belief that I can go to much higher levels of creativity with this program.
-Will Magic
Everything under the hood. That's what you'll find here. Not just tips and tricks but a serious explanation of the features in this sampler. For high end users or to those who want to become one.

Producing Glitch
Jun 2, 2015
Excellente tutorial! Full of awesome techniques that will make your music sound new and interesting. Rishabh is a great tutor, and very easy to follow. The demos song is amazing. Looking forward to part 2 of this tutorial… maybe?
-Apollo
Steve delivers yet again! Well rounded tutorial!! We're talking about circles not squares!
-Julian V!
Nice overall explanation of this version of Cubase. Many nice features and improvements in one of the best daw's around. Check it out.
-Hindie
A good course. Learned a lot. He explained things well usually, although sometimes his explanations were a little incomplete and I had to go to the web to find out exactly how something worked. He was mildly annoying in the beginning, but that improved, so stick with him if you're a little annoyed at his style in the first couple of videos because this improves a lot.
-john
Michael Wohl does an excellent job in conveying his knowledge of cinematography, in a fun and inspiring course. I get a kick out of the fact that after watching this course, I now know (and could even explain) the what the really cool term "zolly" means. Cheers Graham.
-Graham Berry
Music Business 102 with Paul Bissell is the perfect follow up to the introductory 101 course. Some of the concepts presented here were complex. I needed to pause or go over parts of tutorials more than once due to the detailed intricacies of certain business scenarios involving money. I recommend this course and looks forward to seeing what Music Business 103 has to offer!
-Brock
Great beginner's course on the music business industry. The current business and copyright class I am taking uses a book that covers many of these same concepts. This is not only a supplement to that reading, but the visual aspect with MPV courses helps solidify the information even further. Looking forward to the following courses.
-Brock
This course is eye-opening. By constructing different sounds, you learn general principals of picking oscillators, adjusting the filter, how to create an attack, and more. You also learn how to create a lot of special effects. I feel like I really understand sound design. Thanks for the course!
-Rich
Great Course! Explanations are very clear. Great examples are used. I learned a lot!
-john
Another lesson filled with "Meat." This Second tutorial is allowing me to create and edit a musical as I am watching it. I had FD7 for over 13 years and never felt confident to use it event once. I am using FD9 within 24 hours of purchase, thanks to this tutorial. ALSO: The information about protecting your scripts is very useful as well.
-William K Marshall
I learned so much from Jonathan. He taught at perfect pace and helped me learn the tricks to editing audio with less steps. I loved the marquee select tool to work in conjunction with the automation edits. Such a huge time saver instead of adding four points manually to control volume. I definitely will not forget that tip. Now I am ready to work on my voiceover for my video project. Thanks for an awesome course!
-Mark
This was an informative and effective course to get anyone started using Final Draft right away. I feel empowered to "Get Started," using the program; Which IS the ONLY way to begin to get better.
-William Marshall
Fonts and Color
May 29, 2015
Excellent Course. Information is conveyed in a logical, understandable way. The examples are excellent.
-john
Very well done. Clear explanations, great examples. I highly recommend this course for people interested in learning HTML and little CSS.
-john
If you've never seen a console like this action - this course is great. It goes over all the functions in detail and then follows up with examples. I really liked the last tutorial that tours a small project studio mixer.
-A. Spooner
Hooked on Racks!
May 28, 2015
Wow is all I have to say. I had no clue you could take ableton this deep with racks, even the first half of the course goes deep into sound design, much like massive or Absynth, but it then goes much deeper with parallel processing, or creating racks within racks. I will definitely be building a "megarack" to see what kind of things I can accomplish with it. This course can be frustrating at times, so I suggest taking it slowly, to digest what is going on throughout the entire thing. Thank you
-IAN
Live DNA!
May 28, 2015
This course was fantastic, and covered a lot of ground on small features I would usually overlook, it boosted my confidence when looking at simple clip view on the bottom of the page in ableton. Before, these features like launch modes and follow actions just looked like a bunch of boxes, but now i understand the features, whether i choose to use them or not. They generate a lot of variation which can be desirable in some peoples productions. Thanks!
-Ian
Razor
May 27, 2015
Another clear and concise, well formatted course from this instructor. I enjoy that each video was relatively short, because they were all packed with a good bit of info, and it helped me to digest things by having a spare 5 or 10 seconds in between techniques and ideas. Thank you for another great course sir!
-Ian
Great tips and explanation of the 2.3 updates! Impressive once again from a down to earth approach and easy to follow along. Thanks Matt!

Really good overview of the products included! Hope to see the other bundles covered in the future!! Good gig MacPro!

Some good insight for beginners, looking forward to the next one!

I enjoy Matt Vanacoro every time he makes a tutorial. Thank you very much!! Sometimes it is simple things he explains, but he always get around all the corners of a program. Even though Photo seems simple Matt Vanacoro shows things I hadn't seen and thought of!! I'm happy with Photo now, actually I love it - so much better than iPhoto (now that I know how it really works) Matt Vanacoro - you are a star with tutorials
-Thomas Zinther
I really enjoyed this course and all the others in the Audio Concepts series. I've been dabbling in digital recording for years but never really had a true understanding of the fundamentals but these course changed all that. Joe Albano is an excellent tutor who really knows his stuff. He explains things very clearly in a way that's easy to follow along. I'm now getting a lot more out of my digital audio recording experience thanks to these exceptional tutorials. Thanks to MacProVideo and Joe Alb...

Dubstep Production
May 25, 2015
I really enjoyed this course, and have taken the dub step courses in both logic and ableton. This one seemed to be a little more straight forward, and have room for creativity, I appreciate you going at a speed that wasn't too fast and requiring a lot of rewinding. Great course.
-Ian
The Simpler Sampler
May 25, 2015
Thank you Laura! I had no idea the simpler sampler went this deep and had that many capabilities, it appears pretty small and straight forward when you open it, but I now realize it can go much deeper when I feel the need to wander down the sound design/sculpting hole, outside of other plug ins that do the same. Great ways to really find some original sounds, and the multi sample trick is too cool! Great course!
-Ian
Thank you so much, I recently switched from Logic Pro X to Ableton Live, and the stock FX plug-ins are vastly different than in logic, even though the same signal, technical ideas are the same. This really helped me grasp where all the extra envelopes, LFOs, and Filter EQ's were coming from on all these plugins and how you can use them to your advantage. Ableton FX seem to have a bit more control and fluidity than the stock logic ones. You explained things clear and concise, and I did not have t...

Kontrol Explored
May 24, 2015
Pretty in depth course for the Komplete Kontrol overview. I would recommend this to anyone just getting started with the keyboard.

Logic is a big program and can take some time to figure out. This tutorial helps get to the important features quickly. I appreciate the help these courses provide!
-ekkomouse
Maschine 2.3 is a great upgrade, these courses really cut through to the new features and let you get right to the new stuff. I appreciate the tutorials, check it out!
-ekkomouse
Great course to get you up and started. Maschine 2.0 is a great advancement and it can take some time on your own to get up to speed. This course cuts that time down and lays out the new features in a logical manor.

Exploring Kontakt 5
May 22, 2015
Really through starting point for kontakt great ; looking forward to the next one
-Pj
Very useful and thoughtful course, lots to think about when planning my template!
-Neil
Another solid and informative Cubase course. This one is basically a remake of the same course for Cubase version 7 but that's totally okay as they need updating as the software evolves. This one is entry-level, explaining basic operations so for your first Cubase course I'd recommend to start here.
-Pecchan
Core iWeb '11
May 20, 2015
A nice explanation of all the features in iWeb. A clean and simple way of making your own site, and update it.
-Hindie
Fantastic course, really useful information and a must for any artist thinking about releasing their work!
-Neil
Nice for starting, clip launcher examples should be more explored, how to continue recording from a point in arrange in clipper launcher for example... But really nice tutorial.
-Miguel Lameiro
Every couple of months, I get excited about Maschine all over again. These updates are so rad.
-Paul
This is a very good course for going through the new features in Maschine 2.3. Matt does a great job as usual1
-LaShawn
KONG: King of Drums
May 18, 2015
As usual with Mo Volan's tutorials, both clear and exhaustive. One technical issue though - the videos seem to be full of 'dead spots' which cause the video player to crash. You have to refresh and scroll directly to a point in the video past them to continue to watch.
-Simon
I enjoyed watching this course. Matt knows this instrument, and explained its capabilities well. Thank you!
-Derry Etkins
Excellent course and well presented. Great material and very helpful. The section with changing emotions and no melody was eye opening. Nice job!
-Andy Steinborn

David is probably the best instructor I've seen. Love everything I've watched of his - very on-the-ball guy!!

-eric lewin
Great course! Coming from FCP7 i have learnt a lot and now feel confident in using FCP X. Thank you.
-Dominic
Very good overview of FL studio. The basics are well covered to get you started!
-Zekagiu
Sonic Dimension by Greg Townley has been a great follow up to the MPV Home Studio acoustics and studio construction courses. The mix workflow that Greg presents is similar to the workflow that I have been learning in my current college mixing course. I am looking forward to the Sonic Dimension: Expanded class, which should elaborate on intermediate/advanced techniques for the concepts presented in these tutorials.
-Brock Harris
Even after years of using Sibelius, I learned a lot from Thomas' video. More than just a "how to", this is also a "why to". Well worth the price and the time.

Good introductory course for those new to Live - covers all aspects to become familiar with the workings of Live.
-A Spooner
Advanced Melodyne
May 13, 2015
Advanced Melodyne 201 was a good follow-up to the introduction course. The sections in the course emphasized different workflows for audio editing in Melodyne that wouldn't be covered in the manual or a traditional walkthrough. This has been a great supplement to my current audio workstations class where I am using Melodyne in Pro Tools for vocals and other instrument audio files.
-Brock
Recording Audio
May 13, 2015
Meant for those who seek a summary overview of ProTools recording functions and how to access control.
-Karl Schenk
Advanced Audio Editing by Joe Albano is perfect for anyone exploring the basic concepts on how to use the different programs associated with modern DAW's. The course included a lot of intermediate to advanced information and ideas pertaining to this subject field for a music producer. I like this course a lot and would welcome further advanced audio editing courses.
-Brock
Exploring Kontakt 5

Very enlightening.Opens Many ideas and ways to use Kontakt in your audio production.
-Rodrigo Figueiredo
The Oscillator
May 12, 2015
Great introductory overview with some neat tips. The volume balance between the voiceover and the synth in some videos could be a little better though - I found myself continually turning the volume up and down to avoid blasting my housemates with piercing tones!
-Simon
Another Great Course given by Micheal...Taking difficult concept and making it a bit easier..
-Jean Claude Veille
If you know nothing or just a bit about mastering, this course will tell how to start to open your ears, to detail. Many tricks and a simple way to start mastering your own music. Detail is everything in this "black magic art".
-Hindie
I really love the course. Sometimes I am wondering why it is a 201 because Richard goes down into the basics like the 101 course of the Bob Moog Foundation but it adds up to a nice repetition and therefore helps to grasp some basics that are necessary to memorize for later chapters. The extensiveness of this course is "insane" and it really covers so many bases. Nice job and thank you for making this wonderful tutorial Richard.
-Martin
I am a big fan of Jim Pavett's courses here on MPV. This class has contained the most amount of information on a topic of any courses that I have completed so far. So many of these lessons contain solid fundamentals of being a music producer or engineer, I wouldn't recommend anything to improve this course except to include any more useful studio concepts just like these. Given the amount of content already provided, this isn't a problem.
-Brock
Even though I don't record live drums, I found this course very helpful. The editing processes will translate to other stuff I record. I thought the presenter does a great job, informing with enthusiasm and never patronising the viewer. I hope he does more Cubase courses.
-Kwackman
Excellent. A thorough and intelligent overview of game audio. Highly useful
-AP
Animating Text
May 10, 2015
Great series of videos....Micheal does an excellent job taking a very difficult concept and dissecting it "gently" and "precisely" to able the student to understand some complex features. One suggestion is for these courses to be more interactive and to have the student sit in front of a computer and practice as Micheal goes through the lesson. I did it and it help me a lot.....
-JeanClaud Veille
The String Section
May 10, 2015
This course was very well outlined. It was set up very similar to my college orchestration class, but in a much clearer way. The use of multiple different recordings and professional musicians was an awesome supplement to this course. You even went above and beyond with the amazing resource files you created to help with continual study. I cannot thank you enough!
-Tyler
Triumph: Explored

Excellent course. Information was presented clearly and concisely. He used good examples to demonstrate the information.
-john
Fantastic course! I feel very confident in the basics of After Effects now.
-Tyler Garner
Core Melodyne
May 8, 2015
Melodyne 101 Core Melodyne is the perfect entry course for this software. I am currently learning this in an audio workstations class, and this tutorial covered the features more in depth during about an hour than what was covered in a few hours in my class. Not only is this a supplement to learning, but it is a great foundation for the creative possibilities Melodyne has to offer in your production work.
-Brock
while this course was about Song Writing the most impressive guy is not the band or their singing or writing but the guy that does the Engineering with Pro Tools and Logic Pro X he is so knowledgeable with Mics, EQ, Compressors, limiters it was mind blowing to watch him perform his craft
-Richard Lee Rodgers
Elastic Audio
May 8, 2015
Scott has patiently put together a logical extension to the beat detective course. This series is for those engineers who are seeking to understand and apply some of the surgical tools for making time and pitch adjustments in Pro Tools.
-Karl Schenk
The name of the course say's it all, from uploading to monetize, everything you need to know about owning and making a dynamic youtube channel.
-Hindie
If photography is a career you want to pursue, this course will help you give the first steps, and a bit further. A lot of tips on how to get the job done, and organize your work for maximum results.
-Hindie
Useful and simple information about video and a bit of sound. General concepts, but used properly, will make your videos look, and sound better.
-Hindie
Acoustics
May 6, 2015
Joe Albano's Acoustics 103 is fantastic! I have used the information in this tutorial and a few others on MPV in constructing my own home studio and it has been working out well for me. I can't wait to take other courses in this series!
-Brock
Another very nice course. Lots of great information, explained clearly and concisely.
-john
Introduction to Recording by Singing Canary Productions is great! This information covered many of the same concepts that I covered in my digital recording class last month. The videos are high quality and contain a lot of useful information for the given amount of time. I look forward to progressing through the rest of the tutorial series!
-Brock
Fantastic course. I learned a lot of great tips to improve my ability to work in Pro Tools. He gave very clear and concise explanations, and used examples well. Nice job!
-John
This was a great review. He covered every plugin that came with my Pro Tools 11. Explanations were very clear and concise, with nice examples. At times I would have liked a bit more explanation, but that is getting a little picky. This was great.
-John
Its Awesome very Awesome thank you MVP and Timo Preece for this course i learned a lot..but... i need to spend a lot time for more input!
-110dB
Its very Cool i love this course...but i need to learn a lot because its very complex and difficult...:/ BUT 5 stars for MPV AND OLAV
-110dB
Second tutorial with Eyal Amir (I also did his new Cubase 8 course). I really like him. And, as was the case with his previous course, this one was very useful. Moreover, you can apply much of these lessons to other aspects of music composition. Again, I hope to see more from Eyal and particularly courses using Cubase 8. I will return to a this tutorial for refreshers. Cheers Eyal.
-Christopher
Outside the Box - Vocal Production and Arranging is a great starting course for covering studio techniques and musical ideas in relation to vocal production. Examples are included that show these techniques being implemented. The concepts are discussed in a manner that makes them easy to learn if you don't already know these techniques. Looking forward to the more advanced courses and what they have to offer!
-Brock
Perhaps the best Ableton course I've enjoyed so far. I have tonnes of things to explore and look into now. Noah's speech is crisp, he's to the point, explaining technicalities in brief moments, covers a lot in short time and leaves you excited to explore them on your own. I'm ready to use my Maschine & Launchkey to the max this Sunday!
-ideamonk
Good course! Even though I have been using the Mac for so many years, I always learn something new watching tutorials like these. Awesome job!
-Narni123
A very solid overview on the history of synthesizers, as well as how sound works, and a brief brush on the different components and types of synthesis. As someone who has some experience with synthesizers, some of the information was a little redundant to me, but all in all, it is well worth the time to watch.
-Doubleshot
I watched the previews, bought & downloaded the course & then went out and bought a Volca Beats. Great tutorial that also serves magnificently as a user manual as the actual manual as provided by Korg is a very poor document indeed. The short bite-sized videos are direct & straight to the point. Can't wait for further tutorials in the Volca series.
-Paul
Thank you for a great teacher ! It was very interesting and exciting
-Park
Massive: Essentials
Apr 29, 2015
I love the way Mo is going through courses in general. The Maschine 101 was the first tutorial that I saw and this is my second. He is really a great tutor and I am looking forward to other courses put together by him. One negative aspect of this course, in the end it felt to me that time seemed to be running out. Things hadn't been explained and where kind of skipped through or hopped over a little too quickly. I had to look them up via google and other tutorials. But other than that I loved t...

Rounds: Revealed
Apr 28, 2015
Thank you Matt! I took a maschine course with Matt and loved it. And had the same experience on this Rounds course. He knows his stuff. Very easy to follow. And he always shares tips and tricks which his courses more fun. Highly recommend.

Killer Sound Design
Apr 28, 2015
Very nice course on sound design. Even if you're not using live, there is a lot of useful tips and tricks that can be applied in any daw.
-Hindie
Great course on Premiere Pro! Lots of great shortcuts and methods on how to get comfortable with editing in the software.
-Neil
Exploring Kontakt 5
Apr 27, 2015
Fundamentally a good course. It overviews the basic features of stand alone features. He sometimes mentions things without really explaining them, and occasionally his explanations are a little confusing. But, overall, he gives a lot of good information. No discussion of how to use Kontakt as a plugin.
-John
Nothing is every prefect. I really like Olav, he's easy to listen to and maintains my interest. I will watch this one more than once just to soak in the subtle things you get from watching someone show you something! More OLAV!
-Ryan Wrice
Editing In Motion
Apr 27, 2015
A lot of editing can be made with motion, and this course will take you on that path. It was great to watch this one. On to the next in this series.
-Hindie
Very nice course. Information presented clearly. I especially liked that he gave me time to listen to the same part of the same track several times, one mastered one way, the other another, so I could hear the difference.
-John
Rishabh Rajan is one of the great MPV course instructors! This is probably my fifth or sixth course that he conducted. I appreciate the speed of workflow and knowledge that is given in this tutorial. After going through and creating all the presets as I watched the videos, I understood the interface and it's parameters quicker than if I did this all by myself.
-Brock
Great course! All of the techniques were really well explained! I did not like the video footage used for the examples (the pirate with the one eye and skull and bones)
-Neil
A really great course. Very clear and easy to understand. This gives me a very good starting point to pursue these topics.
-John
this series of courses is amazing! I'm happy there is information like this on the internet nowadays; concise, clear courses like this one just makes you want to learn more. there you go Joe Albano and MacProVideo team! greetings from Brazil.
-Frederico Freitas
Editing In Motion
Apr 26, 2015
I enjoyed watching this course. Another part in this series to complete all the knowledge needed to master this program. Very clear explanation on how to edit in motion.
-Hindie
Animating Effects
Apr 26, 2015
Another step towards mastering this program. Great course, with very important and useful information. It's time to make all those things move.
-Hindie
Another amazing course in this series. Particles and replicators really open up the possibilities and turn them into endless possibilities. A very good explanation on how this type of animation works.
-Hindie
Great course. It's nice to see a course on a stand alone hardware instrument for a change of pace. I hope we get to see some courses on the rest of the Volca family!
-Granted
Animating Text
Apr 25, 2015
Loving this set of courses about Motion. All the possibilities of animation just with text is amazing.
-Hindie
Excellent course on the Volca Beats that covers every parameter including integration with external DAWs and creative tips on getting cool sounds.
-Arthur Spooner
I am glad that the first MPV course on synthesis covers creating music electronically. The historical timeline of synthesis machine progress is good information to understand. I feel like knowing the basics of synthesis is as fundamental to my role as a music producer as knowing music theory. Looking forward to the more advanced synthesis courses!
-Brock
Great course on vocal techniques in the production environment! The first half of the course went through some basic principles on vocal warmups and singing techniques. The second half contained more demonstrations and advanced techniques through workflows like looping. The latter videos seemed to skip and play abruptly, which the earlier course videos and other courses on MPV have not done. I would welcome another course that went into vocal tracking and how these basic vocal skills work direct...
-Brock
Outside the Box: Producing Bass Lines is a course designed to give you perspective on how a bass player develops their musical expression when writing music. The approach seems practical, since there are many examples that show musicians playing the techniques that are explained in each tutorial. I would recommend this type of class for other instruments and roles involved in the collaborative music making process.
-Brock
Great course! Very informative! Simple enough to learn quickly, and easy to see the complexities that are possible.
-Neil
Pro Tools 301 by Rishabh Rajan covers techniques that will improve your workflow within this DAW environment. I like that it starts out covering quick keys, then moves on to using different areas of the program. Seeing what other people are doing when they are trying to achieve a certain speed or effectiveness at producing helps improve my skills as a producer. This is a good amount of information for all the material that is covered.
-Brock
Beat Detective
Apr 22, 2015
Beat detective is a powerful, yet occasionally confusing tool. There are many ways its functionality can be applied to music production and this tutorial covers them all in detail - accompanied with examples. There is so much practical information to absorb that I plan to revisit the whole lesson….possibly several times!
-Karl Schenk
I starting using Pro Tools on a daily basis this month. With previous DAW experience, and this Pro Tools 11 tutorial, I have been able to transition more seamlessly into using this product. I would recommend adding a higher level Pro Tools course with this exact same layout, given that Pro Tools has many other relevant features that were not covered in this course. Good work MPV!
-Brock
Great introduction to orchestration and film scoring compliments other videos such as enhanced realism By Schwartz. Teacher takes you slowly step by step and gives a methodical process that expanded my composition. I ma a song writer and realized the importance of the 5th Beatles in any mix... I am watching this SLOWLY implementation is the key. Can't wait for more chapters of this valuable yet not too analytical approach.
-A must have for any serious musi
Great Course and amazing voice!! Just watched and also bought this great course. Easy to understand and creative at the same moment. Can't wait for another lessons from you and learn much more ..

Xtreme Sound Design
Apr 19, 2015
As Trainer shows us, turn off track header's Flex icon and leave Flex icon on, play and hear the shorter part of the Loop. We get the effect on each Flex Mode's effect on the Loop. This is very time saving technique to get to know the difference of Flex Mode as well as how it sounds.
-Tass
We have so many plugin synth in the market, having gorgeous possibilities. But mastering basics and application technique, we can make the sounds we want to achieve without supplemental money to buy that plugins. They also need same understandings of this course provide us.
-Tass
Very nice - just what I was looking for :)
-Espen
Amazing course. An excellent explanation of the different phases of composing and scoring for spots.
-Hindie
Excellent Video. Very Informative without feeling slow. Keeps your attention. Watched the 2 hr video in one sitting. I've used logic for years and learned some new tricks. Love That. Jonathan was a great instructor.
-amaysin
Great tutorial with some very good practical advice on how to set up templates for sketching a composition, through to full production templates. As someone who has had VE Pro for some time but has always been confused by metaframes, vframes, instances etc., and how to configure outputs, I found the clear simple explanation of how VE Pro works to be worth an entire year's subscription to Mac Pro video!! Thank you Peter.
-Rob Gilpin
Great Review and Overview for an Orchestral MIDI setup, great tips and excellent intro into the Networking capabilities of Vienna Pro
-Chris Howes
Good course to get up and running to DJ within Live 9. Found the fundamentals easy to understand and opens a new door into DJing.

Introducing iMovie
Apr 18, 2015
Amazing course! Thanks so much for a great introduction to the new iMovie! By coincidence, really good friends of ours were missionaries in Ethiopia, so this was such a great example to use... Can't thank you enough for sharing your insights into this fantastic Apple software masterpiece!!!
-John William Baxter
Brilliant. You guys must have read my mind. Just added VEPro to my Logic rig and am hooking up my slave machine. Clear, concise, yet comprehensive... Peter Schwartz, thank you thank you thank you.
-Craig Koller
A good tutorial for anyone, especially novice, working with Orchestral Templates on one or several computers, may it be Mac or Pc. Simple to understand and also explained with some fun :-). Looking forward to more tutorials from mr. Peter Schwartz.
-Ole Joergensen
Amazing tutorial! I just switched to Logic Pro X and have editing etc has always been my downfall. If i had known about this tutorial before, it would have saved me a whole lot of time and despair! An absolute bargain for $19.50 and i look forward to any future tutorials by Jonathan! Thanks for your help!
-Jennifer
I felt as if this was an excellent course introduction He really has a talent when it comes to explaining things
-TooSavy
This is a fantastic work, more than a tutorial this presentation is a great compendium of technological break thru creations and amazing inventors that shape the history of electronic instruments.
-JRS
This particular video had a little bit of important information in it but AGAIN went a little bit to fast for my taste!!!!!!!!
-TooSavy
Great course! Is there any plans to more midi orchestration 303 with making real orchestral mockup in detail ?

Exploring Kontakt 5
Apr 16, 2015
Definitely worth watching to get a grip on the basics, but for anyone looking to use Kontakt professionally- or for serious projects- you 100% need to make sure you follow this up with the 201 course. I learned more from the first 2 videos of that course on how to optimize my system for working with audio than i have from nearly 3 years of mindlessly browsing youtube videos and google searches. 20 bucks is a very small investment for a much more stable future in audio editing. Educate th...

This is a must have tutorial for all that are serious about Orchestration. Methodical accurate teaching. Clear as can be and the additional material is feeding us with concrete tools to further expand our knowledge. Buying all tutorials by this guy. Mr. Goss you herby earned a chair in my virtual board of advisors. You an tell that Thomas actually has valuable experience in Orchestrating not just talking about it.... Thank you. Itzhak Yaron
-Fantastic
I really like courses, where also a historical background is presented. In this course it's done pretty good. But overall a little bit too long for my taste. The concepts are pretty new for me and i lernt a lot. Thumbs up good work.

Very helpful. I have used Sibelius for a while, but I was self-taught. From this class I learned better and more efficient ways to work. It will save me tons of time.

Great course! I enjoyed a lot learning all this information and tricks. Well explained, and with this you can start to really edit good movies.

Very nice! Interesting but I would like the course would be more packed with tips and tricks.

Hi Ben: As a long time member of Lynda.com it is my pleasure to tell you that your Final-cut Pro X is the best course I have ever taken on line. I came in with a "missing-file" problem on a project for a client and your explanition of how Final-Cut stores Data was easy to understand, (even for a novice) and set me on the path to recovery. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Lead Sheet Project

Thomas Goss has constructed an easy to understand comprehensive beginner's tutorial. This is a truly gifted teacher, comfortable in the medium of video tutorials. I only wish I could have found the supplementary, yet essential materials he outlined in the tutorial (The Greensleeves pdf etc.) supposedly on the "Sibelius Product page of macProVideo.com." Alas, I could not find it! Other than that, really great for me.
-Laine Griffith
This is what i really love: good explanations and demonstrations. Funny and super cool presenter. This course makes really fun to watch and also to learn more and get practicing. :) Thumbs up!!!!! Excellent.
-n4Sphere
Good stuff! Would have been nice to see a list of the stuff going into the budget and all the equipment installed presented on the screen somehow. Liked the documentary style!

Editing is my favourite thing to do in movies. This course is very interesting, and I learned many things about iMovie and editing.
-Hindie
I learned a lot from this course, not just about iMovie but also some concepts about editing. It was fun to watch and I have a bigger knowledge about editing movies, after watching this.
-Hindie
A great explanation of the iMovie interface and how to deal and organize your footage. I really enjoyed watching this course, it made everything very clear for me.

I entered the Cubase world with Cubase Pro 8. This tutorial is for an older version of Cubase but I had to come back to this tutorial of an older version to learn the MIDI features in the current version of Cubase. I found it well worth coming back here to watch this older version MIDI training. I'm a recent Pro Tools refugee and this tutorial, and Cubase blow me away at what can be done with MIDI, where Pro Tools 12 still doesn't have a clue beyond simple sequencing. Absolutely amazing what...

At first, I thought it was very basic. But I found it very useful; given that I write random notes all over the place and store them on my computer.

I really like Eyal Amir. I hope he does more Cubase course. He is, like me a total music geek, but also so charismatic. Better still, he gives very practical course. I learned a lot... Even though I do not record live drums, this course was very useful. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because, it do not record live drums. Again, I hope Eyal does more Cubase courses... I will definitely tune in.

BFD3: Demystified
Apr 3, 2015
This didn't feel like a "course", it felt more like peeping over someone's shoulder while they prepared and executed a mix. The information was presented in a very logical sequence; very important for a new user like me. Thank you!
-Derry Etkins
Just did this course. This is just sick. I just learned so much in 2 hours working well actually 3 with beers and going to the restroom. But my tracks going to sound so much more cleaner just loved it. Thank you for this i just can not express in words how happy i am with this

Most of us started in a band a while back. Technology was not so developed. It was nice to watch. It´s not easy being and working in a band.
-Hindie
Nice introduction into audio for games. I think to start with a video game history is really smart. Lots of examples for suitable moods. I am more interested in the first few chapters, cause the last ones are getting to much in detail and for me as a non game audio designer not so relevant.
-n4Sphere
Fantastic course. It's a lot of work to score anything, but the basic concepts are here. Vey useful information, it really gave me a perspective on how to do this.
-Hindie
This would be better if the notes were displayed on a keyboard rather than on a staff. Most of us know the notes on the keyboard but do not read music. Somebody should start doing music theory for those of us that do not read music. In fact of all the DJ/producers I know - NONE read music.
-Today's Electronic Producers
Great course. Very practical and each new feature has a practical example with it. Thanks. Great job.
-jcvroseville@yahoo.com
This is a great and very complete course. Jordan is a great musician and teacher. It's worth watching even if you are not a keyboardist. Watching just once isn't enough, lot's of information to absorb.

Very nice course about the basics of film scoring moods. It helps to understand how music for media born with really little effort. In any case you have to be a quite well trained musician to understand and get practise with these topics. I found the course an essential introduction, maybe too short and to simple for advanced composers.

10.1 In-Depth
Mar 30, 2015
Excellent Overview Course. Particularly helpful for those that haven't had time to take all of the individual modules previously. I certainly know a lot more about drummers than I did before! Very much appreciated the highlighted (Orange Bar) messages. They're a bit like buying a used textbook that was previously owned by an A+ student. To a certain extent, the highlight messages cause the student (well, me anyway) to pause or pause/repeat in order to process all the information being given...
-Xabukye
This course is a good overview of all the delay and reverb effects. The difference between flanger, phasing and chorus are not so huge and it was a little boring for me. But other then that, really informative. Thumbs up.

Serum: Explored
Mar 30, 2015
Another excellent tutorial by Rishabh Rajan! I just love his style and voice... You can tell he as true hero of the synth world :-) I will be looking for his stuff, every time new synths or updates are released. I just love how he breaks down all of the complex stages of the serum synth and covers all the basic operations and details of this very advanced synthesizer!
-FadedShadows
This course works well on setting the ground needed to do dialogue editing. The first half takes up the pre-preparation which really is a necessity. The second half on how to actually work with the dialogue in waveforms is probably the most comprehensive I have seen. It consolidated almost 2 years of school I went to into a four hour course. It's that good!
-Jim McDonnell
That's how it should be down. Excellent explanations of EQs, compressors and mixing. Nice examples and good overall structure. First theoretical background then in use practicing. "Thumbs up"
-n4Sphere
This course covers not only game audio, but also a little bit of gaming history. It offers an overview of what should be considered and not how to produce the perfect game score. There's plenty of historical and theoretical background to get motivated why game audio can be your step into business. Great!!
-n4Sphere
David Earl is a fantastic teacher. He explains things very well and I had no trouble following along. It seems like this course is missing videos at the end. He only showed how to make pretty bell and brassy tones; I know this synth is capable of doing a lot more such as heavy electronic complextro and dubstep sounds.
-Zekagiu
Brilliant! As a Cubase user, and for anyone looking to understand edit techniques, this course is invaluable. And Ayal is always a treat to watch. Thanks MPV for another great Cubase tut. Please keep them coming. Cheers.
-JACsongs
Super informative and interesting side to the business I never knew about. Really good to know.

Almost everything you need to know about how sound travels, and how to maximize your listening and working environment. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to mix, even in difficult conditions.

Simple but essencial information. If you want to work with audio, all this knowledge is fundamental. Well structured course. Thank you.

I feel that I know a lot more than I did going into this course. Even though I've been working with Logic since 8, I still learned more than I had expected. Very clear and easy to follow! I recommend this course to beginners and experienced Logic users alike.

It was good to remember such simple principles. If you know nothing about sound, here it is a great way to start.

Designing Timbres
Mar 24, 2015
This is the last video of the moog series and this video is one of the better ones. Bottom line: it is okey. I expected something different with a little bit more education, not just explaining how the synth works. But on the other hand it is cool to see these old beauties in action.
-n4Sphere
This course has been ideal for an introduction to setting up a home studio at my house. Jim Pavett is one of the most impressive instructors for MacProVideo, and there is no shortage of them. The course outlines basic home and commercial studio knowledge, which looks to pick up in the next course on studio construction!
-Brock
So-far so good, I got a building foundation started of design and equipment, a concept to build around and some fire. I'm just hoping that the industry will circulate more money wise as in paying loan's and interest plus receiving them in fast timing just to stir up the gift more while also though not forgetting to appreciate the now.... Thank You Ask Video....
-CombineME
Course is quick and concise. However, VCA definition isn't found in Logic Help, isn't found in the course itself, and had to be looked up on the www - where it was found in reference to Pro Tools. Since the "Define VCA" question looks a bit like a trick question (ie, "Amplification" - or - "Automation" ? Hmmmm) it would be best if this abbreviation is spelled out slowly and clearly - that is - tell us what the definition means -- and why knowing that matters. The VCA concept is related to ...
