Mixing R&B
Oct 22, 2014
Mr Isaac is one of the few that I can listen to and hear a big difference in the before and after.
-Totally impressed!!!
very interesting course, or yeah it's more of a documentary. As stated earlier, it would have been even better if it included more of the creative process but nonetheless very good stuff.
-tommaso
Knowledge is a blessing many aren't blessed with. The information is put given in a clear concise style of teaching.
-Technikality
Great! One of my favorites. All over the map, and all useful. Just a bunch of useful tips. I learned a lot!

Mixing EDM Tracks
Oct 20, 2014
Great basic video covering general aspects of mixing. Not super thorough, but its not meant to be. If you are new to mixing this is ESSENTIAL. If you are not, you will still learn a few things.
-District Sound Lab
If you are new to Logic or mixing or both, this is PRICELESS. I have been doing this for many years now and i still found this worthwhile. While i knew most of what was covered, i still learned a few things and it was a great refresher overall. Great video.
-District Sound Lab
One of my favorite Logic tutorials! The new arpeggiator in Logic X is amazing and this tutorial covers absolutely everything about it. What an awesome creative tool! And using it to trigger drum sounds is amazing too. Watch this tutorial! You will learn a lot.
-District Sound Lab
Not my favorite Logic tutorial, and some of the material seemed pretty basic, but i still learned a few awesome things. This made it totally worth it. And if you are new to the software, you will learn a LOT.
-District Sound Lab
Great video! I knew all about Flex Time already, but man Flex Pitch is awesome! I have Melodyne AND Auto Tune and i am going to use Flex Pitch a lot. This tutorial was great at covering everything about it. Awesome features and a great tutorial.

Logic Remote
Oct 20, 2014
I am so glad they made out about Logic Remote! At first i thought this feature of Logic X was a nuisance but after learning all about it i am so glad i have an iPad. Even if you don't have an iPad, watch this and see what you can do! You can always buy a used iPad2 for cheap! Screen real estate is priceless in Logic and this is an awesome feature, and this video is great in showing why!
-District Sound Lab
Great tutorial overall. This mixing stuff was pretty basic, and would be great if you are new to the field. I found the automation topics to be very helpful, though!
-District Sound Lab
I learned a lot about the Step Editor and MIDI Draw. I am so glad i watched this! If you are new to Logic Pro X you MUST watch this!
-District Sound Lab
I have been using Logic Pro professionally for a long time, and i learned a lot from this tutorial... I LOVE that! Great video for anyone who wants to learn and fill the gaps in knowledge.
-District Sound Lab
Really loved this one! Peter was very thorough. I have been using Logic for a long time and i use it professionally full time, and i learned a lot! And if you are new to the software, you MUST watch this. Great video and great teacher.
-District Sound Lab
Awesome tutorial to overview a lot of the basic features of Logic Pro X. Imperative if you are a beginner, but lots of awesome little tid bits even if you are a seasoned user.
-District Sound Lab
Great video to quickly learn all the major new aspects of Logic Pro X!
-District Sound Lab
Absolutely a must for Cubase users! Clear, well organized content, delivered by an excellent narrator. I will be watching every single course. Thank you so much MPV for these tutorials! I will now be able to use Cubase for all it's worth and then some. Keep up the great work.
-jamcow music
Great course for new people moving onto a Mac from Windows or perhaps using a computer for the first time.

Mac Survival Skills
Oct 19, 2014
Great course for both beginners and advanced. I have 6 years of MacOS developer experience, the class showed me many neat tricks that will help me become more efficient.
-Patrick Michael OLeary
This course was incredibly entertaining and of course very informative. Peter makes great use of animation to explain something that isn't explained very well in the Logic GUI. I will definitely seek out his other courses.
-Clinton
Lots of stuff in this course. I'm having trouble with theory and still have after this course. Would have like few simple tricks to assimilate and learn those concepts. But overall, this course is very complete and pretty easy to follow.

Reaktor: Revealed
Oct 18, 2014
Great course. Moved at just the right pace and left lots of avenues open for further study. More of the same please!
-Brett C
The best video on this site as it has information you can't find anywhere else. Would love to see this updated to LPX and other DAWs like Pro Tools.
-DC
A great introduction. I picked up lots of little tricks. The pace was great for a beginner's course. Cannot wait to do some more.
-Clinton
What a great course. It is very well explained. This is all I need to know to get started with EZ drummer 2.
-Eduardo
Very nice introduction to the new features of Yosemite. Get right to the point. Thanks for the videos.

Smart Controls
Oct 17, 2014
Oh man what an awesome video! As it turns out, smart controls can actually be really useful! This was a surprise for me. This video went through the ins and outs of smart controls and helped me come up with some cool useful ways to use them. Great course!
-District Sound Lab
Very clearly spoken. I enjoyed the analogy to describe iCloud Drive. I hope for more analogies as needed! Everything was given in clear steps and I really appreciated with every/many new features showing the audience what's new about it and, if you don't like that new feature, how to turn it off. Great course.
-Claire Leggett
Live Performance
Oct 15, 2014
Nice course with a lot of tricks to make smooth transitions between tracks.
-Dan
I've been waiting for this. I'm a location sound mixer and after watching the first 3 filmcraft I was very curious about Mike's teaching approach. Terrific as always.
-Dave
Superb course. I've never really considered much of the audio side of a video editing program before, as I spend most of my time in Logic Pro for audio. Michael clearly explains how the same plugins used in Logic are available in FCP, how to use them, and most importantly - when and why to use them (or not use them...). He introduced audio production in video concepts that I never would have considered (granted, I'm a newbie in video), but I now find invaluable and will be using in all my videos...
-John
Great tutorial! Michael Wohl does an excellent job on this whole series.
-Aaron
Introducing iMovie
Oct 14, 2014
A great intro to using iMovie. I wish I'd watched this before spending a whole afternoon fumbling around, what was at the time, an alien interface with concepts I'd not come across before. It was good to see it all explained anyway and there were even a couple of things I hadn't found out by myself too.
-Rob
I've been working as a post editor/producer/music composer for a few years and Bill managed to pull out a few tricks I'd never seen before! The things he'll show you here are real time-savers...a big deal in this world of audio post! Great job, Bill!
-Rob Varro
Sound Recording
Oct 13, 2014
I was curious to know how sound is recorded with mics and how this is transmitted to speaker. I've learnt it in this course and a lot more from analog to digital. Great course if you want to get some knowledge on audio basics.
-Dan
Helpful as I may be using this console at some point. I have the SSL plug in suite so this was of interest. Cheers
-Dv8ter
This is a good way of heaping to decide what to invest in. Full accurate reviews of any/all software is very helpful. Much appreciated.
-dv8ter
I just love Olav's tutorial style. Best Live 9 Tutorial yet, complete track, loads of tips and hints and great workflow style.

So informative and so well made! Understandable for everyone who's not used to the industry words.
-Henrik Granat
Just finished the entire course and loved it. I have been using Premiere Pro for a while now and all pretty much self taught. As a result, I haven't necessarily being doing things the best way or even the right way. This course taught me so much and was explained exceptionally well. The tutor does an excellent job.
-Avid Learner
Evolution of a Song
Oct 10, 2014
Now i don't even use Cubase - but this course still has some interesting ideas for composition/production and a superb section on recording /layering percussion and drums. The guy presenting obviously loves what he does and the drummer/percussionist he uses is superb. Then - in the final 'video' - the guy with the silver beard shows up (playing Ableton's Push controller) and it all goes ballistic !! In a very good way !! Some nice humour too. Well worth watching. :-)

Oct 10, 2014
Excellent. Very detailed. Matt answered all the questions I had.
-Charles
I had no idea how powerful this rack extension is until I watched this. It almost captures the best parts of the crazy metasynth and brings them straight into reason. Very good course!
-Ben
Great overview of the recent changes to Reason with the latest version. Tuned me in to a few things I hadn't noticed like the drag and drop replacing without the mixer settings changing. Would also be an excellent course for new/prospective Reason users to check out.
-Bruce
I haven"t installed Reason 8 yet but was eager for a preview of the changes. This course is a much better preview of Reason 8 than anything available on Propellerheads website. If you are an experienced Reason user it will get you salivating for the new version. If you are brand new to Reason this tutorial will be bewildering. That's allright because it's not supposed to be an intro to Reason.for newbies.
-funkdawg
So good. everything about these has been top notch.
-Dave
Great for people who never used pro tools before. Give a general understanding of the basics.
-Andrew Wiley

Mountain Lion
Oct 5, 2014
This tutorial was very helpful to me as I just upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. Francesco was very articulate with his presentation and thoroughly explained every new feature that would have taken years to find out about on my own. Thanks macprovideo.com.
-Jimboy Edwards
This covered pretty much everything about Logic's new arpeggiator. I now feel very confident in using it which is great because i think it is one of the most amazing creative tools for writing music.
-Loved it!
Great course that explore a bit further the software. Nice to learn how to add audio and how to work with specific selection.
-Dan
Gentle overview, with some soft insights along the way. This short set of tutorials in no wise goes into the depths of making a first track, rather it demonstrates some of the practical applications of the prior lessons.
-HOPE
Very good course, thank you and BT is an amazing toy ! Let's play with it now... So good to be able to use it without spending long hours looking for what this or that does.
-jerome
Basic course with a few helpful tips to get you going...good to learn about the matrix system.
-HOPE
Great course and in depth! The midi editing & instruments are well explained -maybe lacking just a few touches on synthesis (filters, LFO's, envelopes) and how it works. It could do with just a few diagrams. Studio is a great DAW to use -simple, straight forward and fast!
-Alison
Facebook Marketing
Oct 3, 2014
Really good tutorial, I recommended, it's worth the time. All the details about FB are all here.
-Dj Crazy G (Geo)
Extremely informative. Answered a lot of questions that i had. Love the technique and theory behind every action. The only thing that i wish there was more of is perhaps some more time ear training and really being able to hear the subtle dynamic changes added to the mix. The theory behind it was well enough explained that you didn't actually need to hear these subtle nuances it in order for you to understand what was taking place in the mix.
-Hector Laracuente
No really big updates in this version.. but ooooooohhh man are the little ones phenomenal!!
-BPGeez
Been using Pro Tools for years but just ten-tupled my knowledge in one evening, thanks to these 30 focused, informative, and well-presented lesson videos!

Great for independent film makers. These videos give an amazing overview of being able to plan and run your set perfectly. If you're thinking about getting into the film industry or have already started and want to be more aware, then Film Craft 101 is the perfect place to start.
-Andrew Wiley
The videos are good - the content is a little dull. Complex ideas are explained well except bit depth.
-Kevin Goldberg
Excellent and clarifying course on a potentially confusing, but brilliant, softsynth. Due to the lack of cogent how-to information by the manufactoror (U-He) I found this course invaluable. Thanks RR!

Having been buried in audio production for so long, I haven't been on the music writing side in ages. I need to revisit what I thought i already new. This is great, simple yet complete study. Thanks

A well-done introduction to some of the complexities of this particular soft-synth. This tutorial will help you get up and running.
-Clifford James
Thor offers tons of possibilities and this course helped me understood basics applications as well as more advanced stuff.
-Dan
I was a little leery of taking the course but for under $20 I took the dive. Needless to say I am glad that I did. One of the best tutorials I've had the pleasure to view. Covers everything you need to know to record and edit VO's in Logic. Great stuff.

WOW! What a course and what a trainer. Thank you so, so much. Wish I had this tutorial some years earlier. It is a real time saver and a must watch if you are doing VO in Logic. Thank you again. P.S. Best course I have watched at MacPro Video so far. Would love to see a Part 2.

Acoustics
Sep 27, 2014
I particularly enjoyed this course. It provided very practical advice about constructing a studio and I found that the concepts of acoustics were presented in a clear, understandable manner.
-John
This is a very well done tutorial and Michael Wohl is an exceptional teacher. This is a great intro to motion because he breaks it down into little bites that you can easily remember and build upon. He gives you the right amount of info in each video. I've watched other tutorials that dive into details and then you get lost. Michael's enthusiasm for the product and teaching is clear and motivational. His FCPX series is equally great.
-Rick
Very useful course, it's what you are looking for, but maybe sometimes it can be unnecessarily repetitive.
-Rob
Exploring Kontakt 5

I'm a location soundman, and i've been around production for a while, i've shot, and I've edited. I am now one thousand percent more confident than i was 93 minutes ago. I remember michael from the final cut trainings and always liked his style. This series might be some of his best work, and this is the only one i've watched so far. If i were running boom on a movie and the director turned to me and said, Hey, i gotta hit the bathroom, can you direct the rest of this movie, I totally have th...

The ART of EDM
Sep 25, 2014
One of the best tutorials i've ever worked through !! Perfect for explaining and inspiring you to actually produce a whole EDM track - with great techniques uncovered and musical ideas for creating dance tracks - plus some nice Logic Pro X tips too. He goes lightening fast in places though - so i think i will have to watch certain bits again...and again...lol !! Thanks Olav !! :-)

-Dan
A very detailed course about Delay and Reverb without being too complicated to follow. Well done!
-Dan
Absolutely amazing course! It was 177 minutes, but I wish there was more.
-Celeste
So great to find this course. I was having major basic questions about media management that I was unable to find answers for. This course answered many of my media management basic questions with real world answers. The pace picked up as we went along and the keyword ending wrapped a good encouraging ending leading me to continue to the next level with my FCP X editing. I had tried FCP X when it came out, did not like it, used Premiere Pro. Wow with the release of the new MAC PRO I am back tryi...

WordPress Basics
Sep 24, 2014
I managed to get some good information from this session, however, I feel there was a lot here that should have been in a 102 session rather than this 101. It goes on for a long time, quite often seemingly at tangents - although it’s all relevant. As a 101 session I think it could have concentrated on the basics a lot more, therefore resulting in a more concise and focused session. It feels as though these videos are a ‘port’ from a previously issued set of videos or a DVD rather than spec...

Great insight to the editing process inside Final Cut, Expands nicely from the introduction course.
-Niall Fegan
Another great Kontakt tut by Scott Freiman. I especially appreciate the sections clarifying Kontakt 5's busses, fx sends and overall signal flow and signal flow-related issues - something I had previously found a bit confusing. Scott: I'd LOVE a detailed multi-level course on Kontakt scripting! As a musician/producer with some Kontakt instrument-building aspirations this would be invaluable!!!

-Christopher Aronson
Informative and inspiring!
-Shelton Summons
Best tutorial I've watched on Kontakt 5 to date! Lot of power user tools explained here!
-Shelton Summons
This entire series is a must learn it all for musicians, audio engineers, home studio owners and all the music lovers. You learn lots of concepts in theory and applied in real life on EQs, Compressors, Delays and Reverbs. And there's many more: studio construction tips, soundproofing, etc. I really found what I was looking for and much more!
-Tadeu Caldararo
A good outline describing the work involved were I to create my own characters. Being a perfectionist of sorts, I will most likely in the future hire an animator instead of drawing my own.

Fonts and Color
Sep 17, 2014
A nice overview of using fonts and colours in web pages. I especially liked the information on web fonts as I hadn't come across those before. Unfortunately though, the section on hex codes was missing and I was looking forward to that explanation. However, the rest of the content still proved to be very valuable.
-Rob
This is a GREAT course on dynamics, especially the detail on how compressors work.
-Andy Dietrich
Cut to the chase, no muss no fuss perfect! Anyone should be off and running straight away even as Siobhan explains it, thx ; r )

Sep 14, 2014
One of the best (music/daw) courses I have seen on macProVideo to date! More of these (Olav's) please !
-Ralph
I thought the course was really good, as I am a beginner in mastering and also new to Studio One . The content and course lay out was really easy to follow and understand. Taking this course has tremendously helped me improve the sound quality of my cd . I highly recommend this to any beginner.
-Joe
Excellent course, truly. Not 5-stars because really I would have liked to see the "process" from start to finish instead of the many different tools from many different companies, et al. However, Mo Volans keeps the topics interesting and is on-point. Every recording musician needs to go through this tutorial.
-Clifford James
Triple-WOW! Today, I got my copy of RX4 and just found this absolute fresh video on MPV!!! Was just a fan of the RX3-Video and of MLT Hepworth anyway! Thanks!
-Fred
A brilliant chapter in the SongCraft Presents series! Extra added value in the dual trace through signal chain in both Pro Tools and Logic Pro.

Not simply a Dubstep course, Hollin is teaching lots of Reason stuff which would be helpful in several music genre. Was a good refresh of other Reason course.

Smart Controls
Sep 7, 2014
David jumps around a little here. (or his teases are misleading a little) I couldn't quite bridge the history with the present, but the older versions of Logic is why I left. The Smart controls are endlessly creative function, and David does cover them thoroughly.

A really well presented course on JavaScript! The best part is the ability to follow along with the teacher while he is showing you what to type and how to modify a certain parameter in order to get the script to behave differently. I wish programming code was presented to me in that fashion way back. So, along with the basic foundation on history of Java and the building blocks of this particular language, the exercises are the heart of this course. Especially when you are clearly informed abou...

Another great tutorial by G.W, showing the potential of The Finger and The Mouth, for inspiration in, I any kind of music,I would imagaine Lots of content as usual, along with great tips and ideas.

Best one yet ... especially with the inclusion of LogicPro X. I really like how Ben facilitates and articulates the process ... and have come to see Mike Crehore at the gold standard for sound engineering. I've learned a lot from them. My only suggestion? More of this with Logic Pro X. Great work folks.
-mckelly46@hotmail.com
Helpful for what is here. But I need more than 8 playback channels so I added a ninth but get no sound?? Maybe the next tutorial could be on building from scratch so we can learn the ins and outs of how things are routed in each instance?
-Chris
This course has a great selection of topics for a quick overview of Reason 7 fundamentals.
-R.Stull
Very beautiful song. Very beautiful process... And I sure will be listening to more from Turin Brakes. and I just love the Logic Pro X mixing and mastering of recreations wave and Pro Tools plugins - shows you can achieve a very professional product if you know your tools.
-Anthony
Again, David Earl is excellent at slightly going outside the box on Logic Pro. Here showing practical and creative uses of Flexpitch. Even allowing for mistakes like we all make. Thanks for being treal.
-Dell Little
Stupendous! Outstanding!! Awesome!!! and some of the rolling credits were cool too... Love this song, Kudos to all ; r ) now I can't get it out of my head, Yay
-Rix
David Earl is becoming one of my favorite teachers on MPV. He not only teaches Logic Pro. But many universal techniques for mixing. Plus what the plug-ins are representing in the "real world" This is the first time I noticed this. I never noticed this in the Pro-tools sessions I took. Maybe I didn't take the right ones. But anyway, David's clear, friendly, never condescending. Would have loved to have had him as a mentor earlier in my career.
-Dell Little
Very good course. All the parameters where explained very well. Althought the course might have little bit longer...

A great start for youtubers. Good tips regarding encoding and video editing!

This mini course teaches you some surprising info about the standard calculator in OS X. You might find yourself using it on a much more regular basis than before. Watching this course helped me appreciate this little tool so much more. I love the conversions: feet to centimeters, pounds to kilograms, and even US Dollars to Euros or any other more common currency, with the feature to update the daily rate for you! Use it in simple, scientific or programmer's mode. Same app for everyone's needs.

Wow, Thank You! It took me about a month on and off learning and then wandering for the first half of this class, but after wandering a lot with the essentials, i finished up the second half of this and i feel like i have a very well rounded knowledge of this synth and how to make that modern sound everyone seems to love so much. Time to get lost for sure.

This is one of the best professionally presented tutorials on video! From the introduction and following along further, you are taken step by step through every single little feature available in iZotope RX 3 Advanced. The examples are so abundant and the tools so well used, I don't think there is any place unvisited of what exactly this plug-in can do for restoring your audio. A must see for everyone planning to work on their next audio restoration assignment! Matthew Loel T. Hepworth is an exc...

"Game Audio 102 - Implementing Audio in Unity" is a course that can jump start you right away into applying techniques placing audio inside your video games, but it's not going to make it easy on you if you do not have some prior experience with the Unity game engine on a basic level at least. If you are completely unfamiliar with scripting and/or computer programming, you might be in a bit of a struggle understanding how sound works and gets triggered. Unity is an amazing tool and has one of th...

"Game Audio 101 - Demystifying Game Audio" is a great introduction into the world of audio for the gaming industry. It covers variety of topics from some history and background, the way sound works in games and the challenges to be considered when it comes to memory usage. Also the different roles and positions and who is who in a typical game production team, all of this definitely needed information if you want to know how it all works and one day maybe be part of it. This is a pretty great way to be introduced to all the sections of Massive. I wish the Author would have spent a little time in the routing section and even if it was a short example of the benefits of being about to change the signal route in sound design. Overall good stuff tho!
-Shelton Summons
Awesome. I particularly liked the explanation of how sound travels through the air and into your ear drums; i.e. how sound waves are produced. Dealing with oscillators and synthesis makes a lot more sense now.

Decent introduction, but could have been a little longer with more information on the basic interfaces. One also would not expect to see and hear clipping in a tutorial about mixing, unless the topic is to treat clipping.

When I first watched this course a couple of years ago, I didn't feel like I'd got that much from it. However, after another 2-3 years of audio experience, I've watched it again and feel like I've benefitted far more. The explanation of compression was comprehensive and EQ helpful, though I feel that the course would be improved greatly by including some clips on master EQing, rather than simply problem EQ fixes. The video is about mastering, and in my experience Linear Phase EQ is far more comm...

I plowed through this course in one night and came away with a great list of tips and tricks. I tried out several techniques from this course the next day and cut my production time by 30-50%. Very well produced. Covers what you need and doesn't spend anytime on anything superfluous. This might be the best course I've seen on MacPro Video.

Mixing EDM Tracks
Aug 25, 2014
Very basic stuff, and not much about hands-on mixing. I would've loved to see Mo getting down to the mix to the very finest detail and not just general knowledge about mixing, compression, eq... I highly recommend the Olav Basoski course about mixing electronica.

I am in the process of learning to use a DAW (in my case, Cubase). This course provided me with some readily useful knowledge in specifically two areas: the meaning and use of the various dB scales, and, perhaps more importantly, the particularities of human hearing in terms of dynamics and frequency. With this course, one can now understand, for example, why instruments may sound different when combined with others in a mix. The instructor was clear and precise without falling into overly te...

Little bit disappointed because this course focused on Calendar, Contacts and Mail. I was hoping little bit more of tweeting and optimizing Mavericks. Maybe there is a course for those things? Even if I was little disappointed this doesn't mean that this course was bad. It was actually pretty good if you are interested in above-mentioned applications.

A brisk and informative overview of a recording session with some really great tips on recording and mixing. Nice song too.

I tell you what, I've been doing VO recording and editing for 12 years, and wish I had this tutorial some years back. I just learned things the hard way. From the ground up from Mics, A to D to A conversions, Technique. All the way to various types of editing, VO for Picture and post production. Nice.

Nothing bad to say, very good course. However maybe little bit more practical examples would have been great?

David Earl has excellent delivery and clarity while covering the details of Drummer. Seems to have much experience already on this wonderful tool.

Once I've gotten used to Jonathon's speed and delivery, I like the pace. Though it is a little faster than I can really catch the details. But that's what rewind's for.

Pretty OK course, couple handy tips. Educator was good but maybe the content should have been little bit comprehensive?... however it's not your fault that Apple could couldn't add more value to Mavericks update...

I really like the narrator, he did a great job catching my attention with his calm and easy going way. He explains everything in a simple but not childish way and for me as a semi-advanced user of the Mac I never felt that it was nothing but perfect in terms of difficulty. Really great job, so keep that up!
-Pontus Rosenlöf
Very inspiring course. Maybe the tempo of the course could have been little bit slower...

Fast paced, utlra cool delivery made me need to repeat several sections he covered. But his workflow explanations were complete. I'll have to revisit this tutorial once i spend a little more time on Logic. I will have forgotten many of the techniques he suggests.

I've only watched just the first section and already he is fleshing out some amazing techniques that not only can be applied to just techno, but to other genres. Furthermore, he explains theory of the sound design and that is awesome too because you get a better understanding rooted from the base theory and then you can further explore from there. This is brilliant, cant wait to finish this, I am going to take it in small chunks and not watch it all in one sit-down.

Let's be honest–the ability to learn from one of the greatest all-time house music producers is priceless. Every one of Olav's courses, despite the specific DAW, is pure gold. He's easy to follow along, entertaining and, most importantly, he is actually teaching as opposed to the typical "copy what I do to get this result" tutorial style that plagues the interwebs nowadays. His sweet tricks have definitely sped up my workflow...and I have a new found respect for the marquee tool, for sure!

Really can't understand why so much people are rating this course high. In my opinion, the production and songwriting process on the video was ok, good explanation, but, common, we're talking about audio production here, there's chapter on the video talking about mix things and we're hearing the camera microphone, it's so bad sound that I can't believe it was done. Very balanced tutorial. Not too geeky and full of theory, but not too simple to not be useful. I love it when instructors here on MPV go beyond a basic visual manual (example: "the play button is here... when you push it, the video will play... The stop button is here, etc"). Great information even with a small amount of compression theory and enough concepts to get you up to speed and not put you to sleep. Very well explained and in-depth enough to be worth your time. Very well presented and makes you quickly absorb the information. This particular course although being just introductory could very well be all you need t...

Really finding this helpful in learning Final Cut . Watched on my iPad while experimenting on my laptop

A captivating course explaining how sound works and a detailed history of synthesis over the last hundred years. This course gave me a welcome insight into individual engineers, technological advancements and breakthrough instruments over the preceding decades.

Great overview of the many new features in Cubase 7.5! 5 Stars for the instructor!

Although Mr. Lienhaldt says this course is basic synthesis, it contains great amount of ideas you can find from.

Recording Vocals
Jul 21, 2014
It's a good tutorial for sure, but in my opinion it shouldn't be seen until you have a bit more knowledge into Eq, Comp, etc, otherwise you won't notice the diferences or meaning of his adjustments to the outboard equipment. I watched it 6 months ago and couldn't understand much, this time I thought it was very useful.
-BRHamester
This video helped me learn how to record and process my acoustic violin the right way. I am a beginner and I am 13 years old and I was able to understand easily the right way to make my violin sound great. It was fun learning how to use the EQ and the compressor. Thank you Mr. Albano! I will be starting the next video tonight!
-Mackenzie Bartsch
I am a 13 year old girl and started recording and producing music using Logic X 6 months ago. This course really helped me learn the basics for sound and audio. I learned a lot of terminology so that I can understand the audio world better. Joe Albano is very descriptive and easy to learn from. I am glad he made this group of videos!

Amazing, just as good as all the other ones from this series. Lots of information that you'll normally take for granted, but here very well explained.

Nice course on ad design. As with some of the other courses in Graphic Design the focus is not so much on technique, but more on developing an attitude towards the subject. Mark Gatter does a great job at that! He suggests more about the why than how to get a particular design done. Still good stuff.

This is a really awesome tutorial. The instructor is extremely clear and concise, and goes at a good pace both with his narration and with the pop-up text. I consider myself a more advanced engineer but I still learned a few things. Also just hearing it explained so clearly will help me communicate with others about microphones, speakers, etc. Recommended for users of all levels. Olav is my favourite teacher. He's funny, and he has this no BS approach where he seems objective about what he's doing and will let you know things he likes and doesn't like so you can get a real idea of the usefulness of everything in the program.

Its alright. I cannot say its an incredible course. It does offer a lot of useful techniques. Why I didn't like it as much: a lot of the times the titles of the videos do not correspond 100% to the content of the videos, so if you want to come back to them later, it would be quite difficult to find some things. And also some topics are not so well covered, don't remember which ones exactly. They offer some information, but not enough in my opinion. But still a course worth taking in my opinion.

This is one of the very best tutorials and instructors on the MacProVideo site. I've used Logic for several years and am an experienced guitarist but still learned an incredible amount of information about using Logic to record the guitar. He doesn't just show you what the various plugins or controls do, but teaches you how to use them very effectively. He presents a ton of great ideas for different sounds, styles and setups. This is the best of the many Logic tutorials I have viewed on ...

Jul 16, 2014
Fantastic tutorial! Definitely one of the best tutorials I've ever bought from MPV. The instructor's carefully-planned integration of informative slides, video demos of string players, music notation, and overlay text is highly effective (thanks also for citing every piece played in the demos!). The extra effort put into creating this course really shows and is greatly appreciated. The value for the price is also amazing. If you're a composer or arranger who needs to write for strings, th...

-Mark L74
I really enjoyed this course, because it put the fun back into drawing for me!
-Mark L74
Very comprehensive in regards to the technical aspects. This was a great refresher. It also taught me a few things I hadn't known about the differences between and chorus and flange effects, and pointed me towards some really wonderful ways to thicken up sounds. The coverage of reverb is mostly technical with not a whole lot of emphasis put on the actual use of reverb. However, what it does cover is spot on. Nice work!

-Shad0wLandsUK

Jul 11, 2014
There are some interesting and helpful explanations. I wouldn't say is an amazing course, just like the other ones of this series from Canary Studios, there's a lot of times that a mixing engineer just played around with knobs and plugins without actually explaining. If you just jump those long videos you can learn something without getting bored.

This course, even if more technical, was easy to follow and was explained clearly. You will learn all the basics of sounds in no time. Kept my interest until the end.

As a Logic user, it can be frustrating when working with other engineers/producers who use Pro Tools. I have received project files and/or exported stems that just didn't import properly due to time code, and frame rate issues. SFLogicNinja, shows off a couple of ways to make the transition easier, when sending audio files for mixing/mastering. Save yourself from future frustrations if you work with a lot of different musicians and engineers across various DAWs… This is a must watch!

It's an absolutely amazing course. It tells you everything you need to know about Delay and Reverb effects and more, flanging, chorusing, doubling, echo and phasing. Also some creative tips on using the effects. Worth every minute watching it.

I always tried to draw characters freehand. In this course Siobhan shows how to start with only a rough sketch and refine it through layers of adding more and more detail. I found i can apply this technique to other kinds of drawing as well. Thanks!

A great course by Olav, his explanation of the various features of Traktor Pro 2 were very easy to follow. The only thing left to do now is to practice what he taught and hopefully master this fine piece of equipment and software.

Good course wating for number 3 to go into Qlink section with more details.

This course delves much, much deeper into animation. Compared to the basic course it's harder to follow and the pace is high. Experience with other software, like Flash, is almost mandatory to keep up. The part about exporting will outdate quickly because of the speed of browser software development!

Awesome - teaches you all about Nectar 2 and even a little bit about the effects themselves. It was a real treat to have this kind of detailed knowledge of such a powerful tool. Me and my mix thank you
-CustomNeonShirts / Matt Moran's
One of the most important courses I've taken. This really makes signal flow easy to understand, and the instructor infuses the course with a friendly and humorous demeanor that keeps it interesting. I literally laughed out loud at many points over the entire course. Highly recommended.
-Jeff Vezain
Another great addition to the Audio Concepts series. Excellent explanation of delay and reverb effects. I now know and understand the difference between flanging and phase. I feel more confident dialing in the exact sound I am looking for faster with less experimentation.

A lot of information to take in but definitely the best course I have found so far regarding Maschine 2. I will be referring back to these tutorials frequently in developing my skills with my Maschine Studio and DAWs.

i liked The Art of Storyboarding 101, but in this 102-course it gets even better! Lots of in depth info on how to choose your shots and sequence. Highly recommended!

The instructor speaks very clearly and slow enough to understand. I also like the circle around the pointer so that I know exactly what he is clicking and where he is on the screen.

You should be very proud of what you've created here. So far I can't seem to get past the String Section There's so much to learn, especially from the list of scores to study. As we speak I'm in the middle of the Ravel Quartet, absolutely amazing writing. Once again, Thank you so much:)

Jun 29, 2014
This is one of the better tutorials I've come across over many products. The author goes into some depth on all fronts with out getting too far in the weeds...leaving that part up to you. However he does cover a lot and covers it well. Thumps up from me I will keep it in reference for future look ups.
-Mike Morgan
The course is quite thorough and covers the material rather well. I gave it a 4 out of 5 since the time/length of the course teachings are not included in the course outline.

Great tutorial! Lots of useful information presented in a linear, sensible way. Concepts explained very well, and even a few tips about workflow. Aside from the odd slip here and there, very well done!
-ProFessor
Good explanations, slow and easy to follow. I am wondering however if the arpeggiator can be used with third party pluggins and if it would function the same. It would be good to include that as well.
-Adrian Naqvi
great course for learning patterns and all around drumming. breaks down lots of ways to work on your drumming.

This course is giving all that you need to better understanding and use Maschine faster, which is not always easy.

Wow, what a virtuoso you are! I really enjoyed watching you. I would have like to see your settings and how you make your layers. But still trying to replace my jaw...
-Dan
Olav knows his stuff, but I wish there was more explanation into the theory on some of the techniques. Also, I feel that the video production was very minimal. I prefer courses that have a great emphasis on structure and having those tips/tricks popups. No "ummms and ehhhs."

Skanner XT
Jun 25, 2014
The course takes the form, for the most part, of the construction of four patches: a lead, a bass, a pad/stringsynth, and an effect. The course may lose you a bit with the first two: they are wholly unremarkable and, in fact, gloss over most of what makes Skanner a cool little device. Fortunately, the third patch sounds fantastic, and the fourth covers a lot of ground, throwing in basically every function Skanner has to offer (as you may guess it doesn't sound great, but it glances close enough ...
-Andrew
Very high quality course, one of the best I've found on AskVideo/MacProVideo. I'll be coming back to this; it's densely packed with good info. Instructor makes a strong effort to make every concept mentioned clear via demonstration, but never lingers on anything for long enough that it becomes tiresome. So very well done!

Max f'Lahv! This was a great introduction to Max For Live -- as a longtime user of Live and a recent purchaser of Max, this helped get me up to speed on the kinds of things Max can do, and the wealth of devices that are included. Gary walked through many of the devices, and helped me to better prepare for further exploration, which I plan to do.

Clearly explained, logical and practical. I am looking forward to the next series. Well done!

Jun 23, 2014
Excellent course for a very complex plugin. I recently purchased Alloy 2 and was thrilled to see a course for it here. The instructor does a fantastic job at demystifying all of the overwhelming configurations available in this awesome plugin! Occasionally, he reminded me of a late night commercial where the announcer says, "Wait! There's more!" Looking to see if he has any other tutorials here!

Exploring The EXS24
Jun 22, 2014
I don't mean to grumble, and I won't deny that a lot was learned from watching this course- but I have to say, David's explanations are incredibly cryptic. It sounds a lot more like he's just reading from the manual, rather than trying to rephrase complicated terminology in ways that most consumers will understand. On the whole, my advice is to do some background research on the EXS PRIOR to watching these videos (if you ARE going to bother with them, that is), as I really don't feel they cover ...
-James
Simply awesome. I've just watched the first one of this series and can't wait to watch the following ones.

Razor
Jun 21, 2014
You will learn things from this, don't get me wrong. However, it's a walk through a set of patches that are very much planned out ahead of time; he clearly has a set of numbers for each knob's setting in front of him, and while he sometimes covers why something is set a certain way, it's not a guarantee. Basically, they are clear videos, but walking you through a finished project is more the way of this tutorial than actually building anything from scratch.

Excellent course. Not too long, but covers a ton. I figured I'd already know everything contained within from experience, and casually watched it with a few meals. It surprised me, and I managed to pick a few things up I'd never heard before.

Inspiring. I'm not really into EDM, I'm more into Industrial Rock, but it's given me some very interesting knowledge from other genres to add to my experimental work.

Excellent format and engaging presentation of the material. I recommend this to learners at any level (beginner to expert) because there really is something for everyone. Thanks for putting this tutorial together. Looking forward to the next course.

What a brilliant course, so far one of the best in the website. If you manage to watch the whole thing you'll be amazed by the end of it, so much knowledge that he's sharing here.
-BRHamester
Although the complexity of the subject, this course is explained in an easy way. I will have to redo some section as English is not my main language but not trainer fault... Really like the course by itself. Thanks.
-Daniel
Excellent course. I have picked so many tips on using Ableton it's untrue. Nice one Noah.

Straight forward and clear for me. There's a few interesting tricks to be learnt, but could have been a shorter tutorial for the amount of content.

Pulverizer
Jun 16, 2014
Well, this is really an amazing tutorial! I always think about the pulverizer, don't know exactly what to do with it. After this tutorial I love the unit for mangeling beats etc. It was a real benefit for my work. And a lot of fun too. Thanks ;-)

Pretty good outline and overview overall, but some of the concepts were described in a way that may be alienating to someone BRAND new to how a computer works.

I already have used this app quite a bit, composing tunes, jamming etc. But still I learned a lot from this course. Good stuff!

This is a good look at learning all the basic uses and how synchronous works. Thought it was good but would have liked a bit more on manipulating sounds. Worth watching if you don't know synchronous at all.

Educational, entertaining, lively … Not only did this course help me understand the ‘why’ of strings and their people, it made me even more anxious to try the ideas out. Thank you, Thomas!
-David Nedwek
I am a fan of Tammy's so was thrilled to see this course. Very informative, not for complete beginners but does address some fundamentals around technique and posture. Includes many insights to give you fresh ways of looking at the challenges that confront a voice student. Tammy is fun, engaging and super talented. Very much enjoyed the looping primer and look forward to playing around with one myself.

The ART of EDM
Jun 11, 2014
This course was different than the other logic ones I have completed so far. I had become used to pausing and writing things down every 30 seconds in courses like the mixing&automation one because the content was so much so quick. This one was drawn out a bit and more "watchable" after I finally settled into my chair and stopped thinking I was missing good notes. You explained things clearly and walked us through it with you and that was really awesome. Refreshing course! I almost completed the ...

There's a lot of technical information, which sometimes is quite boring if you don't play any string instrument, but I guess it makes the tutorial very complete. Can wait to watch the following tutorials of this course, since it will helped me a lot to write string sessions.

Excellent course!! Very, very informative!
-Stig Mathisen
This course is very clear, the teacher does a great job of putting key points on messages so you can pause and take notes if needed. It is a lot to digest but I've taken lots of breaks and made sure to stop when I can't retain anymore but WOW this is going to take my music to another level.
-indiKILLA
Between this course, and spending countless hours fiddling with my maschine the past few years, I can finally say I understand exactly what maschine can do and its absolutely crazy, when you use it standalone its capable of a lot, but then pulling it into another DAW opens up a new world. Thank you for showing me what this thing can do!
-indiKILLA
This was a very clear course and walked me through one of my first logic arrangements to make it much much much better, between this and the "whats new in logic course" I am well on my way to proper mixing and a good work flow. I also highly recommend the mixing&automation course too!
-indiKILLA
This was perfect for me, as I am new to the depths of logic and really wanted to get my machine stuff into it to mix professionally, this not only showed new stuff, but was a basic walk thru for new users who are familiar with some of the lingo. 5 stars! Thank you!
-indiKILLA
I started this course as a way to help me tap into different creative areas of my mind to enhance my music making skills. Overall, i enjoyed the exercises in this course because it really made you trust using your mind for spatial awareness and contour line drawing. Looking forward to moving to the next tutorial series.
-Johnny Zana
Another great offering from Gregg Fine, theoretically perfect! Just what the music doctor orders when you're in the doldrums, much appreciated, tremendous creative freedom when or if applied, Cheers ; r )

Great course Steve - really enjoyed it and cannot wait to try it all out. Demystified a lot for me! Thankyou. Could do with a few more 'in music' examples though, so an example of linear phase eq on a song as well as a sine wave - but hey! :-)

Ben Balser is a great instructor. I've learn much from this course and now use 'Key Wording' folders for every project I do. Nice MPV!

Wonderful signal flow course. Many features the tutor touches on are well explained and executed. Would be great if some ideas were tutored with some "hands on" work; but that I'll have to do myself. Looking forward to more tutorials from Peter Schwartz!
-Selim Göncü
Very well explained. I'm looking to build my own studio and this is answering a lot of questions that I had. The only thing I would have loved in this course is having a photo or a quick video of all the parts and audio hardwares that is discussed to help me figure out what is what. But other than that (and this was not a must), must seen course for everybody who plan to make a home studio. Great job!!!
-Daniel
I found it very interesting but sadly it only covers the basic stuffs.
-Migrosdata
This is a good tutorial for the basics of live sampling, but since this is based on Reason 5, it may be confusing when apply what you learned to Reason 7. This is considering the new master section which was not present in the version used in this tutorial. Still this is useful in understanding how to record and edit samples, rather than routing.

Executed extremely well. Covered (quite literally) every single aspect of the device with both great explanations and great examples. Most of the lessons that I've come across have been fantastic, but the flow of information seemed to jump around illogically. I have seen other videos on iMovie that just skim the surface. They don't go into any detail. I have also read a couple of books that were as clear as mud. This course gives you the indepth detail that I want. By showing you what to do and then seeing the results locks it in my mind better than just reading something and leaving you to figure it out on your own. This is an excellent program and would recommend it to anyone wishing to learn iMovie!

Essential viewing for anyone serious about having a career in music. This is a great conclusion to Dr. Bissell's four part course. The information here may save you possibly months of personal research and headaches. Clearly Dr. Bissell has an extensive knowledge base on this subject. He guides the viewer through confusing business concepts with a relaxed and entertaining style. LMAO at the "Truck Month" jingle. Bottom line, these are some of the best courses on MPV. Overall, this course was super-informative and its instructor was very warm and friendly. My biggest complaint: a lack of function/effect explanation. The instructor would use effects without explaining their value fully, and if they were explained it was a passing explanation. For example, the Utility effect (always been a mystery to me in Ableton) was placed onto a grouped track without any explanation of its function or value in the mix..only that it "increases width" or something. Good introduction to people unfamiliar with Youtube, it covers most of the major topics. However, if you already have a youtube channel, there won't be much here. For instance, the video on third party content doesn't say how to dispute a frivolous claim. So, if you already have used Youtube for a while, you might not get much out of it, but if you're new to youtube and intimidated by it, then you'll see what it has to offer in an easy format.
-Vasco
This is a good intro to Logic Pro X. I would say for the complete novice to this program it is the manditory first step. Naver having used Logic before the program still seems overwhelming, but like I say this is a good first step in understanding the massive and endless options in Logic. I gave 4 stars because the sections in the course could have flowed better, and a couple of the section were a different instructor, outlining a function, I would have prefered the same person/voice to handle...

Great course explaining the new functions of EZ Drummer2. The only thing I miss is the explanation of tempo following the DAW and the percentage of lowering of the tempo that still delivers great drums. As always MacProvideo is my favorite Tutorial supplier.

Olav's presentation is both informative and entertaining, he goes in depth, without The information becoming too heady. Although this series is titled Sound Design For Dance Music The techniques, here could work for any production.

Never would have thought that i would need to watch a tutorial course on how to use native instruments. Glad i did. Love the overall course & the explanation of it... looking forward for more

Good sense of humor. Keeps the videos short. Moves a bit fast in a couple of spots and doesn't explain certain shortcuts he takes. Very good course!
-Allen
Very Insightful. Great course for beginners looking to get into photography or even more confident photographers to brush up on their skills.
-Niallzorz
I just upgraded from EZDrummer to EZDrummer 2. Wow, what a change for the better. But it freaked me out with all the new stuff to learn. I am a visual person and videos are my ticket to learning. As soon as I got EZD 2 I checked to see if there was a tutorial video and the first place I went was MacPro Video and there it was. Matt Vanacoro is a wonderful instructor and takes you through all aspects of EZD2. If you want to save yourself some time please check out this video. Absolutely 5 stars.
-David Goddard
I absolutely loved this course! Can't believe how many things I've been doing wrong on my mix and other really cool things that I can add now to it. Brilliant. We'll spent money.

This is an excellent tutorial to get you up and running quickly with Push. It shows just how quickly you can start putting a track together with the Ableton - Push combo. Noah's delivery is enjoyable, and I really dug this and his other tutorials as well. I recommend this if you are starting out with Push.

The Oscillator

This was great, I've never had the opportunity to touch one of the analog synths or oscillators. This course has shown me the foundation of the software synths that I use today!

It's a slow start, and then it walks the user through the different options of sharing something in Motion. The first couple tutorials may not be obvious, but if you watch them all through, it'll make sense. It's useful to see how all the rendering stuff in Motion works (from display to sharing), which may not be intuitive at first, so this is a useful tutorial.

Good introduction to all the variations in Compressor. Unfortunately, the new interface of compressor looks different, but most of the stuff covered here can be found. The course uses cooking videos to show how different settings can affect processing time, quality, and other aspects of the video, and how to find your way around the somewhat non-intuitive compressor interface. It would be great if a newer tutorial series were made for the new interface.

This is a very good tutorial, and the guy who instructs it is all over it. My only 'beef' is gonna make me sound like a 'dumb guitarist', but..... this is very KEYBOARD oriented... there's simply too much stuff aimed at keyboard players, which although is Universally informative, it's simply too much stuff I don't care about.... from a guitarists point of view. I'm not interested in 'drawbars' on a Hammond organ.... Sure, he 'addresses guitar stuff'.... "just so the keyboard players don't ...

This course as with all the previous courses was well put together and very informative. It made applying the same concepts of typical mixing to the FL format. I greatly appreciate the instruction

Battery 3
Apr 29, 2014
An essential course for music producers wanting to learn about Battery 3. From editing individual sounds and looping samples to grouping instruments and applying effects. This software works just as well in standalone mode or as a plugin in most DAWs.
-Rock
Excellent course! Max for Live is the future of music production and sound theory! Unbelievable technology with limitless applications!!
-Neil
This was a bit strange as a tutorial - it seemed more like a sales pitch at some points. I found Noah Pred's 101 course to start at a more basic level, and go to a more advanced level than this course did. Still, with that said, it was amazing to see Jordan's playing prowess on the Push. He really demonstrates how this is an instrument, and not just a production tool. I'd say for anyone who is already a bit familiar with the Push, you can skip over the first section of this tutorial, but defin...
-Jordan M.
Ive just started with Bitwig and never used a DAW fully before. This video tutorial comes highly recommended. The manual which accompanies the software is brilliant but it helps to have someone visually guide you, show you whats possible and even better that you can download and watch on your iPad/iphone as well. The tutor is friendly, clear, professional and gets on with it. Thank you
-Darren Winter
Great Tutorial! Great teacher! quick to the point no fluff! I learned a couple new key features. primarily learned how to use the new F1.

Introducing Excel
Apr 29, 2014
A very good brief look at the capabilities of Microsoft Excel. It covers resizing of cells, formatting, templates, themes, printing and a little browse at formulas.

I didn't realized all the power of Midi within Reason before completing this course. Additionally, everything looks simple the way it is explained. Well done!!

A great beginners quick guide on JavaScript by Tareq Fadel. This course should establish a foundation with which to build upon, describing a history, use of and the basic commands and syntax of JavaScript.

Great look through the whole process! I like to see the progress of the song, that gives a good overview to me. Nice job, well done.

Absolute Absynth
Apr 26, 2014
I recently had a veteran sound designer show me the possibilities of Absynth. I came away inspired, but there was a large skill gap to fill. Scott's thorough walkthrough of Absynth brought me right up to speed. Just brilliant. I shied away from the site for some time because I'm a Windows user, but everything transfers flawlessly and short cuts are described in both Windows and Mac terms. Very happy to be here!
-Jeremy Lim
This is an essential first course for anyone learning DAWs generally and Logic Pro X specifically. Peter Schwartz does a superlative job guiding us through signal flow ... I also love his humour. Kudos to you Peter.
-Michael Kelly
Introducing iMovie
Apr 26, 2014
Great Introduction to the new IMovie. I look forward to taking the other courses.
-Robert
I've tried out Cubase video tutorials in the past and they've been worthy but dull. This one is different, despite covering all the same ground as the others I've seen. The difference is down to the narrator, Matthew Loel T. Hepworth. He has a wonderful, breakneck style of getting into the detail, rarely leaving dead-air and racing from one point to the next. His enthusiasm is infectious, but he's also thorough without packing the topics out with 'filler.' All the necessary points are cov...

Diva Demystified
Apr 26, 2014
A good tutorial needs a good narrator, a firm grasp of the principals of the item explored, and a sense of offering something new. Diva, one of the most astonishing soft synths I've ever seen, deserves something a little special as a tutorial. The creative potential of the synth and the exceptional design really raised my expectations for this tutorial. Mr. Rajan is in many ways a good choice for narration. He has a pleasant, easy-going style that verges on languid. He knows the VST softw...

Battery 4 Detonated
Apr 25, 2014
A few days ago, I knew nothing about Battery, and after viewing the tutorials, I can say I pretty much know my way around; and I have some interesting creative ideas. This course is just amazing, and Matt goes deep into some of the crazy things that can be done in Battery. I can't wait to mess around with Battery.

Mixer's Toolbox
Apr 25, 2014
I'm practicing cubase since 3 month and with Matthew as a teacher I've already capable of decliping, mixing and editing midi note. (nobody likes my sound yet :) but let me tell you that doing tutorial on these DAw is realy hard. For me Matthew is the "Mr Church" of Ask video. Have a good one.
-Gilles Danger
This is an amazing course by Bill Burgess. There is so much knowledge being passed on that it'll take me a few times watching and practicing the techniques here to fully have that in my arsenal. The hints on amazing drummers and drum programmers, and their techniques, is also inspiring. I have been listening to most of these people for years, but never quite thought about their music in that way until now.

Creating Animation
Apr 24, 2014
A great first glance at basic animation techniques! Just by watching these tutorials, ideas of what I could potentially do with Flash CS6 were popping into my head. These are the courses I've been wanting to do for the last few years but couldn't afford it! Thanks Iain!

Tools and Concepts

Good couse, nicely presented. Takes a lot of the mystery out of programming synth sounds with some carefully chosen examples.

Battery 3
Apr 24, 2014
I wanted to really understand the basics and so decided to start with the Battery 3 tutorial before proceeding to Battery 4. I have no regrets as this tutorial is amazing. Every feature of Battery is thoroughly and well explained, so much that I pretty much know my way around Battery before I've even used it to produce a track. I'll be proceeding to Battery 4 now, but I am in no doubt that the principles are the same, and I may only need to focus on the newer features.
-Anthony
Learning pro tools from the very start really has its ups & downs. meaning the upside is that you learn a few tricks that you never know existed and the downside is that if you have known about this or that trick earlier on then it might have been a great help. Good job guys
-kawame davis
Monark Demystified
Apr 23, 2014
With a first look at this Synth, it may appear to look quite simple and straight forward. Throw in some morphing or randomizing between snapshots (presets), the altering of global settings and the ability of Monark to interact with other Konplete plugin modules and you have almost infinite options. The only thing stopping you is your imagination.
-Rock
Advanced Synthesis
Apr 23, 2014
really good tutorial for people who like sound design. He goes over the fundamentals (advanced fundys) of synthesis. Best part is he teaches you so you can do this on pretty much any type of synth, virtual or analog.
-Huzzoky
great course in audio for gaming. At the end of this course i will be watching more video about this & hope that in the future more will come. As a music composer, i find this really interesting. Would love to do a scoring on a game one day in the future. A quick question though, it unrelated to the topic but could you guys do a auto hide on the player because sometimes when in full screen some of the words at the bottom gets cut off. hope you fix it. "Thanks & Peace"
-kawame davis
This is a profoundly enjoyable course, filled with so much information. I thought I knew much about sharing, but this course takes it to another level; and also, with all the insight into David's considerations while mixing - it is fantastic and inspiring. Thanks again for another wonderful course.
-Anthony
A very informative course on image manipulation. This refresher course with Html5 has taught me many new possibilities that I could see adding to my websites while I was actually learning them here.

This was a great course, especially for those who need to deal with mail groups and any kind of sharing. It was informative, and I learned a lot. I recommend it.

Great Course. would love for some tutorials on doing some music/film scoring in pro tools
-kawame davis
Exhaustive review of features of the program with some good tips for better sounding drum patterns. Really learned a lot about SD 2.0 features (custom midi loops - wow!)
-starbuckna
Noah is a great instructor. Fun to follow, has a good sense of humour, and knows Ableton Live inside and out. Good flow to this course, starting with the basics and building up to more advanced skills, finally putting together an arrangement at the end. Had a couple questions though, thinking that Ableton may have updated the Push in some small ways since the video was recorded, and it'd be handy if there were notes about any of these minor changes. But overall, great tutorial. Thanks!

great tutorial if your new to pro tools 11 or if you really want to make the best out of it by learning its ins & outs

Core Flash CS5
Apr 19, 2014
With many Flash courses costing hundreds of dollars, this course is certainly one of the best for value for money. Geoff is very knowledgeable, covers every detail and at a good pace for new aspiring Flash Designers like myself.

I think this is a good course for a beginner at Mac OS X. I would have liked perhaps a bit more advanced, but for a beginner, this is a super course that is well explained.

I've been following these tutorials with the demo version of Bitwig; but one thing is certain, these tutorials are making me seriously consider getting the full version. The lessons are so explanatory and reveal the power in Bitwig.

This course gives a concise yet comprehensive overview of the new features in Media Composer 6.05 Excellent.

I've used my daughter's Nikon DSLR for shooting video a couple of times and have suffered from the sheer weight of options available, although the results were good. After following this course, I now know what choices to make and some of the pitfalls to avoid. Matt is an agreeable presenter whose experience in the field comes through in every lesson clip. I will be reviewing the notes I've taken and won't hesitate to go back and watch some lessons again once I've done some practical work.

Working With MIDI
Apr 18, 2014
This is a great tutorial for anyone just starting off in Reason and also a good recap! Great series Hollin!! Good Gig MacPro!!!
-BPGeez
Another fantastic ES2 course. It's amazing how powerful Logic's plugins are. The fun thing about this course is, if you focus on the theory behind the creation of each of the sounds, it can be applied to the other stand alone subtractive synths with FM and wavetable synthesis.
-Anthony
I am still new to Logic Pro and after working through this course I think: This is another very helpful course, I learned a lot about Midi in Logic - also a lot of stuff which I guess would be very hard for me to find/learn if I tried to learn that on my own (for example: I never expected the step editor to be such a powerful tool - without this course we would have kept on using just the piano roll editor solely). For me it was obvious that the trainer is really experienced in producing musi...

Very very informative..This is amazing,loving it !!!

Having owned this synth plugin for many years, it is finally exciting to come across a course dedicated to so many aspects of this synth. From bass design to image resynthesis and morphing of waveforms, this plugin is no ordinary synth. The information provided in this course is worth every cent and more.

I am loving this so much. I was really lost with my new technology and now I am feeling capable!

Working With Audio
Apr 16, 2014
Utter confidence after finishing this course! Great job Mr. Jones!! Good gig MacPro!!!
-BPGeez
It was very helpful but A beginner probably would probably not understand some of it.
-Rudy Capetta
Great review of motion templates. I'd love to see another one that gets deeper into transparencies and masks with transitions, but this one goes over the basics at a good speed and is enough to get you started.
-Vasco
This was a very interesting and informative course. I learned new approaches to create a logo and ways to improve them.
-Mr Taylor
Excellent course. The Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass is an absolutely fantastic tool for getting extremely realistic bass guitar sounds. And this tutorial shows just how easy it is to use.
-Anthony
Such a detailed and cared tutorial with bunch of practical knowledge. It tells you how to make your drumming work tidy and efficient with drum racks. Hope Vespers will upload more tutorials! He is a great teacher!!

Mixing EDM Tracks
Apr 16, 2014
Another excellent course from Mo. Everything is so well explained in such detail that you immediately understand what is being done and how to use the technique in your own materials. At the same time the explanations are straight to the point. This is a fantastic accompaniment to Mo's Mastering Course.
-Anthony
I don't think this tutorial could've been done much better.. Always learn a lot from the Ninja! Good gig MacPro!
-BPGeez
Great tutorial. Mo is an excellent teacher. He goes just slow enough for you to follow, but fast enough to keep it interesting. Would love an in-depth look at the sampling functions.

I´m still new to Logic and also to MPV.com. But now - after seeing several courses now I think I can compare. good: - this is another very informative course, and I learned a lot - thank you! :-) - the teacher speaks in a relaxed quiet mood - for me this is a good climate to learn - I think the course outline is good and it gives a good overview could be better: - the teacher sometimes (too often for me) speaks too fast and also mumbles a bit (since I´m no native english speaker I didn´t un...

After the course, I discovered that BreakTweaker is an Incredibly well thought out & versatile software that could quite possibly REPLACE a DAW if used properly! Bill was detailed (but not to the point of boredom) He keeps this mind-boggling beast of a plugin tamed with humorous examples that get straight to the point, and at times manage to put a smile on your face. A great course for any experience level and not discouraging like some 15 hour tutorials that trail off into rabbit holes. Feature...

Exploring Kontakt 4
Apr 14, 2014
Just got Konakt, and needed a primer. This is a great course overall. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that there are times when not enough information is given. I'll give one example: There's a lesson toward the end about banks, and changing instruments within banks by sending a program change message. But it is never explained how that is accomplished. One other beef is that a great portion of the time is spent on the stand-alone instrument, and I will almost never use Kontakt as a stand-...

Excellent course! I am just beginning to produce music and thus beginning to learn Logic Pro. After studying the complete course and also passing the not too easy exam I can clearly say: this course is didactical very well made. It's packed with lots of well explaining pictures and graphics - just right to understand everything easily. Also: the speaker is in a good mood and makes nice jokes. Here I had a lot of fun while learning. :-) I don´t speak english natively but could understand (almo...

KONG: King of Drums
Apr 12, 2014
This is "The best" source for learning " KONG" in reason. Each tutorial is less than 4 minutes. A must have tutorial for the beginer as well as experienced user.
-OTHA MCGEE
Nigel does it again with another fantastic tutorial. I am pretty familiar with Drummer and have actually found some new ways I haven't seen in any tutorial to do things; but this tutorial introduces some very interesting ideas, particularly with the ODE to the old skool beats - that was very creative and original. I loved this tutorial.

Mastering Toolbox

I really like the relaxed style of Geoffs courses! It really helps to keep on learning. Thanks!

Fantastic once again. I have followed the Music Theory series, and all I can say is I know more now about the theory of music than I have ever. There is so much valuable information here that I'd have to come back to these tutorial a few more times to get it all in. The course is worth every second spent.

Song Form
Apr 10, 2014
I'm absolutely loving these Music Theory courses. This Song Form course is the perfect accompaniment to the Melody, Harmony, and Rhythm courses. I'll be going over to the Bassline and Chord Progression courses, and then revisiting all of these again until the information is embedded in my medula. 5*s all the way.

Facebook Marketing
Apr 10, 2014
One more great tutorial, I just can't get enough! This really shows how to control and manage a Facebook page. It covers everything I need to know about promoting my music via Facebook. I have just promoted my website via Facebook for the first time thanks to this tutorial. Before I was a scared to it, but not now :-) Thanks :-)

While I'm not really a dance music maestro (More Singer/Songwriter) I found Nigel Broads articulation of the EDM very interesting and elucidating.

Rhythm
Apr 9, 2014
Fantastic course. I'm pretty familiar with rhythm; but this course made very apparent, quite a few things I was doing; and I'm now able to apply my knowledge of rhythm into my compositions, rather than just free-styling. This course has been of tremendous help.
-Anthony
Harmony
Apr 9, 2014
Another outstanding course, and a good follow-up to the melody course. There is so much I have learned. And I have decided to go back to both courses before progressing to the Rhythm course, for getting the best possible out of these courses.
-Anthony

Can a tutorial get any better?!? NM i found an A to my Q in this Q&A, the A is no, I am actually attempting to learn more than just final cut from this guy, i'm trying to pay attention on the details of presentation this man is using. IDK why or how, but these tutorials are far superior to ANY tutorials I have ever seen. Clear, precise, information packed... and yet in a way i feel in no time at all i just understood years worth of trial and errors I tended to arrive at by watching random mater...
-Psyzmixx
Five Stars all the way. I've taken this course a few times now, and every time I do, I learn something new.
-Anthony
This is a fantastic course. I started a while back but took a break to get a vocal sample and make a track that I could use to follow this tutorial. I learn best by trying it first hand. All I can say is, this has been a great experience, and I will be making reference to this tutorials in future.
-Anthony
An excellent course. I got the demo so I could go along with this course, and it proved very interesting indeed.

Quick Start Guide
Apr 8, 2014
Excellent overview... I am first time and I have learned what reasons can do...
-SparkyG
After seeing an excellent demonstration of Push by TecBeatz at SXSW, and spending an hour or so with it myself I made the leap and added Push to my production arsenal. This video aided me in getting up and running and productive with Push. Noah Pred was excellent and clear with his presentation of the material. As a beginner with Push this video went at a great pace and there was no information overload. EXCELLENT!!!

ES2 Exposed
Apr 7, 2014
Great course covering everything about the ES2.. The quality of the video resolution was a little bit lower than usual; it seems to be an older course. Excellent quality instruction and information, however!
-Neil
An interesting course looking at the basics of advertising design with a look at the process of designing a client logo.

Great overview of Cubase, great pace and excellent instructor. I recently purchased Cubase 7.5 but found MANY gems in this tutorial.

Jeremy's passion for instruction and the advancement the art is truly infectious. I eagerly await every installment of "Jeremy Style" and look forward to stealing his approaches for years to come. Thanks Jeremy Ellis!
-Daniel in Denver
Very good tutorial. I learnt synthesizer history with a lot of interest and without annoying stuff that usually came with historical course :). I was always curious and forced to press next to watch a new video.
-Daniel
Genius! This tutorial is the best money I have ever spent. I've been a long-time logic user, but always used Finale for notating my parts and scores. I now feel confident enough to produce my parts and scores in good 'ol Logic Pro, and am seriously considering abandoning my love-hate relationship with that 'other' piece of software. Viva Logic Pro, and Viva Peter Schwartz!!!!!

Working in 3D
Apr 4, 2014
It went quickly, at the right pace. Sure, I'd like to have seen more, it but was enough to find out how to do things in motion, and to understand how 3D works and what the limitations of the software is in 3D. I only wish the software had real 3D modelling capabilities, but the 3D capabilities it does have are covered well in this tutorial.
-Vasco
I love how you explained in the course overview how you explain that EDM entails all dance-music genres such a techno, trance, electro etc. That made the tutorial much more appealing to me, since I am not so fond of the uninspiring formula-based commercial "EDM" you hear everywhere. Thanx for the tips!

Producing Hip Hop
Mar 30, 2014
This was an awesome course! Already it has changed the quality of my sounds with the use of reverb and other fx. So many things I have learned about Logic Pro, producing as well as lite mixing to help in the production process. I would have loved to see further tutorials on how to bounce each individual processed track into tracked-out stems for further mixing in a professional studio. To include fx that are not recommended when sending off for final mixing. Awesome course!

Massive: Essentials
Mar 28, 2014
Great beginner's course. I was a preset warrior before taking this, but now I've already created a number of compositions with all custom sounds!
-Christopher Pendergraft
Matt is excellent at presenting the material. Looking forward to his other Maschine tutorials.
-Sam
I thought this course was going to teach me from THE BEGINNING about Abelton Live since I'm new to Abelton. I've been a Logic user and wanted to learn more about Live. It only showed me what was NEW to Live but I followed along and am MORE INTERESTED in LIVE than EVER!!! It looks super cool and I'm eager to get started. I will learn the basics in the Live 8 tutorials and then finish up with 9!!! Super informative and a great way to teach!! LOVE LOVE LOVE all around!!
-Lady Coleco
Great course. At some points, it gets slow by saying unnecessary things like "final cut pro makes things easy" and calls database kind of stuff fun. But, it's very useful. Some of the material, like compound clips and auditions, is covered in more detail and more clearly on the editing courses. Overall, very useful. It's a dry subject, and you'll probably need some experience trying to make your own short films before understanding what's going on.
-Vasco
Animating Effects
Mar 27, 2014
Excellent and fun way to learn about some of Motion's animation tools, from keyframes to behaviours. I'd like something that goes more into detail on how to make some specific situations, like smoke, but this tutorial says how to use the tools available and see what's under the hood. Thanks.
-Vasco
Love the 2 Authors working together. I watched the whole series from Quick Look -104 and I was actually disappointed that it was over. I learnt twice as much in half the time compared to other online tutor courses I've watched. I would really like to see more from Eric & Elisabeth.
-Aaron Bell
I like the course is amazing I am looking forward for more new updates in future you guys doing great job this is really big deal for people who are interested to learn about pro tools logic Cubase abelton etc keep up the good work guys ps

Superb tutorial!! For me as a newcomer to Native Instruments and of course Maschine. This course is packed with content, Mo really knows his stuff, taking you step by step into the software, explaining all the hidden parts of Maschine, and giving you tips and tricks along the way This is one of many ,of Maschine tutorials,I will be coming back to!
-David
Michael's course is very clear and very intuitive. Where it excels is with Auditions, Secondary Storylines and Compound Clips. I now feel very comfortable with FCPX. I would appreciate a lesson on customising the keyboard as some of the keys on my AZERTY need to be re-assigned in order to function.
-Sebastian Dewsbery
Get Started Now!
Mar 25, 2014
This was a really great precursor that highlights the very basics and capabilities of Final Cut Pro X.
-Fearn
Very helpful, learned a lot from this. Also, very nice and calm explaining but not mono-tone at all. Would be cool to have seperate tutorials for just Mac, iPhone or iPad if you just want to focus on one but I don't want to complain. Thanks a lot for the vids!
-Kostis
Go Live With Live 9
Mar 23, 2014
Great! Lots of ideas are covered. I had to pause and rewind to follow the steps at times - not a problem, however, because I prefer content I have to review if I didn't catch it initially. Showing the use of the MIDI controller was also helpful to see what that all entailed. Also, this instructor is very encouraging in a fun way.
-Substance D
Mastering Toolbox
Mar 23, 2014
A slightly updated version of the Mastering in Cubase course for Cubase 5.0. Excellent in its own right and highly recommended to those who have not seen the earlier version, but not worth paying for a second time if you have already downloaded the earlier version.
-Wibbers
Great Course, Also done by one of those instructors that just keeps you having fun while telling you what you need to know at the same time... Thanks

Excellent course, very precise and detailed for learning many of the most important features

Mixing Toolbox
Mar 20, 2014
Great set of tutorials. This guy is always great. I've watched a lot of Cubase tutorials by different people, and this guy with four names is always the best. I've never been a mixer, but i have to do it so often by necessity. I'm getting great results. He shows so much cubase stuff I never knew was there.
-Lincoln
good help at learning program. easy start and I thank you for that !!!!

Don't hesitate. This is worth every penny. Thorough, creative and extremely helpful. You need this. If you go through this, you will enter into a much higher level. As I wrote, don't hesitate, get it. It is a revelation.

The ART of EDM
Mar 17, 2014
Perhaps there are more efficient ways to do things at times regarding the work flow, but on the whole this course was very insightful, engaging and rapid! Thanks for a great course!
-Tnee
I really like all the fcpx courses but 105-20 on animation, i can not figure out how to select the image i want to move. it just moves the whole picture. but i am learning a lot from this course.
-allison
This is a great course. I learned a ton. The broad priciples are also applicable to Google Sheets and Excel for windows. Now I just hope that Tamás will follow up this course with a more advanced Excel for Mac course!
-Mr.S
I absolutely loved this tutorial. It has inspired me so much. If you've ever thought about working with adds that will give you an idea of what the job really is about.
-BHamester
A necessary starting point for using Photoshop CS6 or CC, this course takes you through the key parts of the PS interface. PS has such a robust set of interface features, the methodical process of going through them step-by-step is probably the best way to introduce them. If you are using Photoshop for the first time, certain concepts lack context (i.e. the application of masks) or even the use of layers. However, the instructor avoids more advanced topics and interface elements, for the most pa...

I enjoyed watching this tutorial, It was well done and straight to the point!

Mark Gatter is my new favourite tutor, yes!(Sorry Steve H :) ) Awesomely simplified, informative, engaging introduction to Design Principles and Elements! Thank you!

Quick Start
Mar 16, 2014
excellent course, it just helped me to start with cubase right out of the box.
-fatih
Very happy with this course. Studio Drummer had been sitting on my hard drive for a while, and I really wanted to start using it. This tutorial is great! It got me up and running in no time. I particularly liked the parts on channel settings and output configuration. I use Ableton Live (the course covers Logic) but that was no problem. Thanks a lot.
-tormodg
Excellent tutorials. Use of graphics and Logic GUI really clarified signal flow concepts and how to use the Logic mixing board. Both entertaining and instructive. I give it 5 out of 5. Nice job Peter!
-Tom Daigon
Great course on typography basics, easy to follow, can inspire ideas for further experimentation and learning.thank you

Dynamics
Mar 15, 2014
For the length of the course it's a fair overview about compression. I guess a full guide on how to for dynamics would require several hours on the subject, so if bear that in mind this is a great course.
-BHamester
Nice and easy explanation this will be great for someone who just started (like me) into iOS development. Learned about lot of core details about the framework and process of writing apps.
-Zee
Nice intro course to the new version of logic. Takes you all the way from start to finish so it's quite helpful.
-Ben
This course is simply amazing! I couldn't imagine that mastering could be so enjoyable. Easy to follow and understand, I really liked the tips and the plugins presented here. Since it's about mastering, I recommend to not listen to this course with a 1$ headphone or speaker.

MIDI Demystified
Mar 14, 2014
This is an excellent course. I thought I knew 'at least' the basic principles of midi and this course slapped me in the face. Wonderful job on dumbing things down while still using midi lingo. I would most certainly recommend this course to others.

Another great video by J.E. great for those who want to learn how to setup a live performance. You definitely need to know the basics on how to use Maschine 2.0 to understand this video, it will make things easier. Shows his workflow and ideals that you may be helpful in your own workflow. This video also shows you some sampling and mapping techniques as well as how to setup up macros and some some sound designing. This tutorial video will allow you to learn more about J.E. and his style of pro...

I've been a hobbyist "designer" for many years but I never bothered to learn any foundational color theory. This tutorial filled in a couple gaps and I picked up a few pointers that will definitely stick with me. I really enjoyed Mark's presentation style as well.

Olav is the man! The work flow is very fluent and the knowledge of the controls in each section is briefly but clearly explained great course!

This is great gear. Important info flies by very rapidly - perhaps too rapidly sometimes. In saying that, the fast tempo did make for an engaging course!

That was everything I wanted to know, neatly and conciesly packed into just under 1.5 hours. Peter is funny, clever and above all extremely insightful.

Another handy course from Gregg covering quite a bit of ground, with nice examples of scales and modes to get you started on exploring what can be a confusing subject. Love his teaching style.

I've always been Fascinated with Synthesizers, after watching this whole series, I can now look at most Synthesizers and have a basic knowledge on how they work and a foundation to manipulating them. Marks passions for synthesis really shine through in these tutorial, I recommend these series to anyone whose new to synthesis like myself and want to really Dig in and get some knowledge about Synthesis.

ES2 Exposed
Mar 10, 2014
Awesome tutorial. Steve H. is an ace on teaching. Full of the usual silly jokes, but teaches everything you need to know about the EX2. Amazing Synth.
-BHamester
I bought this course to try it out and see if I could learn anything new (obviously). I have been using Reason for a little over 4 years now, and I do have to say that this video didn't really expose any new tricks for me to use. I will say that it did inspire a couple of ideas that I tried out though. I did want to give it four stars, but I also find that there is a lack of explanation of why certain effects were chosen, or how they work. These videos might be good for a beginner, if you wa...

Live DNA!
Mar 9, 2014
Another great course by the instructors in this group. I almost wanted to say this would have been nice to have in the earlier courses but i can see now how after working with the other tutorials this fits well as a 200 level course. If you new to Ableton this is definitely a must see.
-Dan
A good review of Live's new features, especially the audio to MIDI and compressor features. Enjoyed it!
-Brett C
Thank you Olav! A very smooth script with lots of musical examples. I did learn quite a lot. Thank you.
-Miguel
All I can say is AWESOME! ... great course, especially for musicians that aren't drummers.
-Dan
To start: these are a good set of videos. They cover what you want to know. However, the narrator is the sort that takes a long time to develop a point, and scurries down many tangents. He covers every keyboard shortcut you might encounter while working in a drum rack, how to multi-select midi notes in clip view, why you should compress layered kicks, and how to use a low freq rolloff on every track. If you noticed, some of these concepts don't apply just to a drum rack, and have their own v...

Fairly decent course! I would like to dive a little bit further to monetization and to how google actually pays you.

Recording Guitars
Mar 7, 2014
I was looking to for explanations and how-tos for recording acoustic guitars. This doesn't provide it. Little explanation, a few samples without explanation and a presenter that may know lots but he can't/doesn't explain anything. For example ORTF Technique. What does it stand for? Well it is the title of a chapter here but you won't find an answer. Very disappointed.
-Colin
Most useful course. Thanks for the great knowledge. I suggest this course to everyone.
-Cyberpain

Mar 6, 2014
Short and sweet but very complete tutorial with little useful tricks! Thanks!!

Thought this was even better than Gregg's intro to Jazz because it covered a lot more ground in a much deeper/more practical manner. Huge array of ideas/techniques to practice/adapt.

Un très bon tutoriel pour Kontakt, si vous comprenez l'Anglais. Très bonne explications , qui donnent le gout d'aller plus loin. Peut-être pourrait-on aller encore plus loin dans un autre cours supplémentaire. Merci encore !

Mixing EDM Tracks
Mar 5, 2014
I think this is one of the best mixing courses on LPV. Having watched a few, I still got some fresh perspective and tips from Mo Volans, who is clear, eloquent and to the point as an instructor. I recommend heartily this course to anyone interested in in-the-box mixing.
-Pecchan
This is exactly what I needed. This makes now more sense and much clear in my sleepy head. I love when it is teaching in a funny way. I laughed so much. Thanks a lot for this. I want more.
-Cherif
I watched this whole course in two days. I learned a lot! Was very informative and useful.
-warrioress
Great speaking style, very comfortable pace, nice attitude/tone. I can hear genuine enthusiasm which contributes to making things interesting. Well done.
-Stefan
This is a great set of tutes that covers all the basic definitions, history & fundamentals of jazz in a practical & fun style. Nice simple approach to scales/chords/methods for improvising...now to practice!
-Carrion Fowl
Some good advice for beginners but the magazine format made watching several tutorials in one sitting rather a repetitive experience.
-Wibbers
This is a great tutorial. Coming from Live 8, it is nice to quickly learn many of the new features in live 9 and put them to use while watching the video.
-Papa Squat
Great course! Learned a ton about Thor, Reason and synths in general. Very good video.
-Glen
Good tutorial which explain in details the functionality of the software. Would have like to have more DJ tricks with the software and hope Olav will make a part 2. But very well done. Thanks.
-Daniel
Great series. It goes through every plug-in Pro Tools has to offer, in great detail. It's a must see for any user, at any level.
-Alton R.
Another great tutorial,by Mo. I have a few of his courses, and Mo's easy going style and vast knowledge ,is unique. This course shows you how useful and powerful Guitar rig is,not just for Guitars, but a whole wide range of instruments, vocals, etc, etc. This is another cracking tutorial, packed with content. I cannot wait to use Guitar rig,and its components in my work.
-David
This is a GREAT course. I have never left feedback before, but this one really deserved it. This is a topic that can be quite a hassle to take care of learning. It's not particularly interesting and we all think we can just wing it. The truth is, the way we manage content is the reason for a project going smoothly or painfully. I also love that this course goes into some detail about how Final Cut Pro X looks at files and some of the codecs for different cameras. It doesn't just stick to the app...
-Jon
This is a VERY helpful course for those new to design and typography. As a video editor - this really gave me great insight and understanding into the type of work I receive from art directors and agencies when working on a project.
-Taryn Calverey
I am very satisfied with Michael's teaching style. He is a great communicator. I have found his tutorials to be a very effective way to learn new software. Thanks Michael and MacProVideo!
-Greg
Excellent instruction! One of the best here on MPV. Instructor is very knowledgable and takes the time to really break things down.

Producing Hip Hop
Feb 26, 2014
This course is best suited for someone getting started with Logic and who doesn't have full membership to MPV. As an experienced Logic user I didn't get much out of it and a lot of information is already presented in other courses. That being said, it's not a bad course in any way - just not for me. The information is clearly presented with a couple of extra tricks. Recommended for anyone looking for their first course in production with Logic in this style.
-Pecchan
These Cubase courses are an absolute godsend. I have spent ages trying to untangle Cubase by a book, but this makes it all so clear, and refreshes the important bits of information in a helpful way that doesn't interrupt the flow. I have Cubase running on one monitor and MacProVideo on the other, so I can copy what Matthew is doing on my own screen. A great learning tool!
-Anthony Travis
Control Voltage

Pretty good course. Thoroughly explains the foundation of envelops and modulation which is always good to learn or re-enforce knowledge of synthesis.

Mr. Wohl is a treat. I am a software trainer myself and I am amazed at how easy and fun he makes these tutorials. His affable personality and training style is a delight to experience. Many kudos..

Rhythm
Feb 25, 2014
Great course that goes over many of the basics of rhythm! Also compares/contrasts the different styles of music and how they relate to each other with rhythm.
-Neil
This course helped me take a bit more of an organic approach to manipulating the ES2. The approach was more of a "feel" thing rather than a concrete-number angle. I've already gotten some great success just messing around in the general way that our instructor approached it by. Pleasantly surprised by the outcomes and happy accidents I developed while using his techniques!
-Ariel Perez
The detail on Fusor could have been better and could have gone a bit deeper. Good overview however, and well presented in a clear style.
-Brett C
Good course, especially the first section which looks at some common mistakes made when programming drums.
-Wibbers
Great course for any music enthusiast!! Not only does it cover jazz theory, it also explains many different scales and musical patterns that can apply to any genre of music.
-Neil
Great course!! Lots of tips and tricks about how to design the sounds you want using Logic's Amazing ES2!!
