I thought this course was informative. Really broke down compression pretty easily. You can use these techniques on any compressor. Minus one star for the fast pop up windows. Had to pause to read.

Thanks for that! Kontakt is very powerful. I especially liked the building a sampled instrument. (although the whole video is very useful and informative). I can see myself creating new instruments out of other synths.

The Dynamics course is utterly fascinating. I've been mystified by the compression controls until now. I can now say that my understanding of the compressor controls and types is where it should be.

Great tutorial. Learned a lot, not just about cubase, but about recording audio in general. This is why people intern at recording studios, and I didn't have to fetch anybody coffee. :-)

I Have Protools 9 MP so i wasn't able to do everything in this tutorial. But i still enjoyed it and picked up a lot editing, keyboard shortcuts, & Tips.

Starting to get a bit more into the ideas behind object oriented programming. I like the idea of using NSLog for examples to reduce the complexity.

I really enjoyed this course in conjunction with the school training that I am taking. It clarifies the basic signal flow of major console. Although, I do feel that there could have been more depth.

Yet another extremely good course from Martin. I know Logic 8's old now, but the principles are not outdated. I took on the course to get some more appreciation for Logic 9, and I am not dissappointed

Amazing, in depth and stellar with anything coming from a Matthew Loel T. Hepworth production. Over the shoulder mixing/setting up and with the band recording, what more do you need? Kudos ; r )

Lots of plug-ins shown in here with good examples to show how they all work. Most of them are expensive (and require special hardware), but the ideas shown are transferable to other systems.

Bill has a way of packing information in while still maintaining a cool calm demeanor. If you watch this entire tutorial you will be light years ahead of most !!!

I've only gotten through the first 6 videos and had to write to say thanks!!! Just the tips for efficiently setting up my drives and the differences in standalone and DAW setup for getting the most out of my 8 cores has given me HUGE improvements! Matt explains things very logically and has answered a lot of questions I had for Options and Preferences. Can't wait to finish.

As implied in the title, it sure is a Master Class. Steve's LMC #1 covers quite a lot of very useful topics for using Logic optimally; and combined with Martin's Core Logic, you can't go wrong.

Though the tutorial is short it packs a lot of info into how this expansion works. I thought the reviewer had a good grasp on the articulations of the bass and how to implement them in real time.

Scott Freiman is master of all things Native Instruments. His tutorials are the best!!!!

Really Enjoyed the tutorial section on creating the "Wobble Bass" with a cello using the SIMPLER good stuff.

Nice overview of Melodyne. I feel much more compfertable navigating the software now. The tips and tricks at the end was a nice addition.

Real Good Tutorial for design a studio on few levels. from doing it in your home to purchasing space out side your home. theres some good info here you can use. Jim Pavett does a good job.

Some really nice tips on how to add harmony to your vocal track/song with the "Auto Tune EFX" plugin were preformed in this tutorial.

Mark gives tons of great tips and tricks that you will want to have in the back of your mind. I know that my level of professionalism will go up several notches from what I have learned in these InDesign courses. Highly recommended.

This is great tutorial. I was Knowing Nothing About creating a song in my computer. I was just making a melody in my mind and singing only, But after watching this tutorial I really can make a complete song thats great for me. I will go on with next and next videos.

When I saw a whole course dedicated to the Flex tool, I didn't know what to expect. All I can say is, it was well worth it. It's incredible what can be achieved with Flex Time in Logic. #topnotch.....

This is a superb course on Reason 7 or any other version. Mo explained not only MIDI instruments routing with in the reason rack but external instruments. He explained not only the MIDI controller but external synth and drum machines. Love the part to program Maschine MIDI external interface with Kong pads. This course is absolutely fantastic. The perfect start and accompaniment to all the follow-up Logic courses. I now have a fantastic overview on what Logic could be made to do. On to da next one.

A brilliant series. I'm giving a 4-star and would like to repeat Rupak's comment from May 18th. Bouncing process in more detail would be very helpful. Specifically, the bouncing of mixed tracks in the arrange area to an audio file to be sent for Mastering in Logic. It is only implied in the course that this is done before the Mastering process and I'm still unclear on it. Is there a way to master the bounced track within the same Logic project that was used to mix? But it's still a brillian...

Great tutorial on piano mic selection and placement, and mastering piano recordings. Leans heavily on Waves plugins, which, while very good, lean a bit pricey - ideas all valid with whatever you use.

Really good videos that touches on musical as well as production technique. The split tracking was really interesting, fixing stuff before it breaks!

Quite an informative lesson on apple loops and using the apple loop utility. I didn't even notice that this utility existed and could be so handy. Time to convert my wav and rx2 files.

Eyal does another great job discussing elec guitars - composing for them, working with the players, understanding the capabilities and doing post production.

Good overview of Traktor DJ for iPad. Covers all the settings, options, features, etc. A few live examples to see how it all fits together. Also, covers integration with Traktor Pro and SoundCloud.

This course is very thorough, practical, and easy to follow. I highly suggest going through top to bottom on this one.

“Cut to the chase” I get the concept of the classroom approach to this (and many other videos on the macprovideo platform) where the expert gives a round improvised view of the software or issue at hand, BUT, and here I come! In my opinion the courses should focus on the facts and functions of the programs only and not so much on the surrounding edulcoration of the subjects or fancy personalized sometimes idle talk. My recommendation is to write a script before hand and stick exac...

Great explanation! Gets into the meat and potatoes of Iris without it being overly confusing. Now I'm off to create my own unique sounds.

This course really gets you up and running and to use the basics of Kontakt to edit your sound without going to deep. Also shows you how to setup Kontakt in a DAW to run midi and host automation.

The general overview topics were very well covered including the historical background on game audio. Ironically the weakest aspect was the VOs on the course didn't sound well produced/mastered :)

Generally good, but there is at least one error - you can overload method names in Obj-C. '-(void) mpv:(id)x;' & '-(void) mpv:(id)x withVal:(id)y;'. This is very common.

Flex Time Editing is a function in Logic that allows you to sync up, Quantize, rythymic audio parts like guitars or banjos to the timing grid, and also to tighten up solo or harmony vocals and lead parts. Steve H. and his assistant Igor explain the Flex Time in 30 video presentations and they do a very good job. If you are like me, you will need to follow along slowly with your own recording project. Great course... I didn't realize that Omnisphere was this deep. The instructor is a bit dry, really gets inside this powerful instrument.

Having bought and installed Komplete 9 I found this a really interesting course. Very informative, well constructed and easy to follow. Just when you think you know it all, well actually you don't !!

I give 5 stars for content but 3.5 for leaving PC users out in the cold. Clearly this is meant for Mac users although a few references to Windows are used. Although the racks, mixers, etc., look the same on each OS, menus are very different. There is a lot of reading between the lines needed which shouldn't happen with a paid for tutorial. Yet, I learned a lot but grew tired of guessing

What is compression, interlace, pixel aspect ration...? Pretty obscur! This curse is lighting us from obscurity! Basics are basics, and you should knew them before managing video stuff!

Want to know everything about video compression? Take this course! Even if this course should need to be updated a little because compressor (and needs) have slightly evolved. I learn a lot. Thanx!

Nice introduction to Push from Jordan. His enthusiasm for Push really shines through in this series. I'd like to see a sequel to this series - taking some of the basic concepts further.

By far the most powerful tutorial on Ableton you could watch. Noah does an amazing job at guiding you through it.

Good guide overall, especially for beginners. However, it would have been nice if Noah could verbally explain the words that have been displayed as subtiltes, since I usually just listened to what he said during the tutorial.

Quite a lot of good info here, it's great to see several different types of reverb plugins used to show the difference in sound. I'm a huge fan of the female singer in the examples, GREAT voice!

Color grading, what an intimidating thing! How to deal with white balance, contrast, color, hue, saturation? How to use scopes and wave form? This course answers all, with method and clearness.

The Maschine Mk2: Track Construction tutorial, as most of macProVideo tutorials, was concise and to the point. It is taught with ease. The extra little bonus was learning some tricks for dance music.

Video 43: The narrator looks for the click track button, but it is blocked by the watermark for your site. Perhaps you could fade out the watermark when the instructor goes over it?

After working along side with Reason, and going through the course a few times, I can now master a track, and get great results every time. This goes into how to understand, and use the tools needed.

Fantastic. Very quick. No messing about. Excellent structure, showing all features in a progressive way with different types of patch. Lead patch was a little bit rushed though.

Excellent walk thru. My only whim though is that a few of the chapters were out of sync with what the instructor was saying. Other than that, it was a great series.

Nice, no-bs intro to Push. Noah covers all the main functions swiftly to get you up an running on Push quick... ...although I did find myself getting carried away and making my own tracks instead of following the tutorials! It would have been nice if Noah had imparted some more personal workflow tips and advice beyond just explaining the functions of each button - but perhaps that was beyond the scope of this tutorial?

Good Course, lots of cool sounds and transferable skills, however some duplication or mislabelling on the videos was annoying..

I was very pleased with this course and its predecessor. It covered a large range of Kontakt features and common needs without being too simple or too complex.

Very informative, even though it references the old "region" terminology it's awesome to learn so many new shortcuts. Watch if you want to know more about how to properly approach film audio!

It would have been helpful to have the output going to actual object on the screen, that way we could have learned a bit more about the graphical interface rather than justthe code. I really like the pace of the tut though, it moved along and didn't waste time. Please get a part 2 up and running and show how to put graphical content into the app. and how to use features of the phone like GPS location. Can't wait.

Nice and complete look at audio ins and outs of Reason. You could always use Rewire in Reaper, another DAW that memory footprint is very small and very powerful.

This course was AMAZING, it took all of the guesswork out of FM synthesis and made it so easy to understand. Even the history lesson at the start was interesting and fun to watch.

Really interesting look into Skanner. This will help you get your head around what this synth/sampler does, which is not intuitive. Good examples on how to create sounds and what to try next.

Good in depth look at Kontakt 4's advanced features and how everything fits together. Most of this is useful for Kontakt 5 users, but there are a few changes, like Instrument Buses.

Really great overview of Kontakt 4 (still very useful for Kontakt 5 users). Lots of info in here. I'm looking forward to watching the Advanced Kontakt course. Then on to Kontakt 5.

Only a master can obviously make it appear so simple. The years of practice & experience packed in there are kept right under the veneer of the ease of use, but not out of reach. This is a classic, when the mix is excellent , the mastering is kept at a minimum. Olav keeps it basic, solid & professional. Respect for this great teacher_One of the best tutorial I've seen on the subject.

If you work with UAD compressors, Like I Do, You will enjoy this course. Nice, clean informations about all best UAD models. But it is not course about compression it self.

This course is quite informative. Its style is a little 'technical' but certainly gets the job done!

This was a really good course! Mr. Doty is splendid in this series. Even though I've never owned any hardware synths, the knowledge is helping my with the use of my software synths.. Good gig MacPro!!

Good overview of the settings and use of NI's Battery 3. A few of the end videos are more focused on using drums in a DAW, not Battery specific. Would like more real world kit creation demos.

This tutorials are great. I'm learning things that aren't obvious, but sometime are right there in front of your face and you don't see them. Very useful and practical staff that we easily ignore.

Very good and clear explanation on how to use guitar effects on DP 8, the cool thing is that this knowledge is transferable to other music production contexts and other DAWs.

This course was 100% invaluable. It made a few grey areas that I had concerning a few devices vanish and replaced them with a terminator like understanding. Great Job!

I have been using Ableton Live since version 6 and I still found this course to be very informative. It is always amazing to see how many different ways there are to do the same tasks in Ableton.

Really nice overview of Reason's sequencer, which is quite easy to use once you understand it but can be a little counterintuitive when fiddling around on your own.

A good intro to the synth. It tells you how to program it pretty well, but to get a better idea on how to create typical patches from scratch you will probably need the other Massive course as well.

learning how to make a multi-effects combinator was amazing. I thought it was noth quick and to the point and well taught at the same time.

I appreciate all Tutorials and would never give lower than a 3. That said, I'm new to Live and hoping that I could get into it fast with MacProVideo. Good overview course, they walk you through each compressor so you get a feel for its sound. Only critique is to have more a/bing of the compressors without talking so you can hear differences better

Great series!!! Olav is clear and concise with his explanations. Learned a lot from watching this series and didn't feel like he wasted my time.

Olav's focus here is more on mixing than mastering, but he does a great job of demoing basic tools, including the dual uses of compressors and the new glue compressor. Good EQ lessons too.

Good overview of the EVOC 20 - covers all the settings, how they affect the sound with live examples. Also discusses the routing from Logic using Buses.

Good course, he moves quick so it flows well. Just wish we had the project files to go along with the tutorial so we could turn some knobs too.

Good course on all the functions and features of Absynth 5. My sound browser works a little differently than the one in the video - don't know if that's Mac vs. PC or an Absynth update.

Absynth's 5.1 browser doesn't look like this anymore. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out why mine looked different. Notes about changes of appearance/updates would be helpful and relevant.

Olav is a great teacher with great personality. Lots of good concepts in this one to help start training the ear for sound design. wish he would gone through writing the tune at the beginning.

Putting it all together. This shows multiple examples, primarily on the Voyager, MiniMoog and the CS-15. There's discussion on how the sounds were made and how the pieces affect the end result.

This tutorial was easy to understand and follow. Not too much information was thrown at you at once so you could really understand everything from section to section. Really learned a lot here.

This course meets the typically excellent standards of Steve H. He demonstrates complex techniques with flair and humour and I enjoyed this potentially difficult subject much more than I thought.

Excellent introduction to the history of how the synthesizer came to be. Don't expect to learn much about synthesis from this tutorial however.

Good overview of the interface for Maschine - software and hardware. Covers sounds, groups, scenes, sequencing, etc. I don't even own one - I just wanted to figure out what this thing does!

The course was great, a lot of this is similar to linear multi-track audio software and that's great! I appreciate the beginner training as on your own you might miss things about the tools and menus.

Very Comprehensive, but too much detail on some obvious points. I liked the patch reverse engineering part and more info on programming patches would have been welcome.

Great information if one isn't planning on using maschine as a standalone, from all the various possibilities of how to get audio into the DAW or even MIDI, great stuff on use of maschine's FX.

A good course for absolute beginners,explaining things very clearly in a good structure. It also explores the creative aspects a little bit as well. Might be a bit slow if you already know the basics.

This was a perfect introductory course to Live 8. It has already got me thinking of how this unique and extremely capable DAW will take my production workflow to the next level.

This was cool. However, it seems as though the instructor was not using PT10. There were still regions, region groups and groups list. Shouldn't they have been clips, clip groups and clip list?

I wish I had access to this course 25 yrs ago - I actually feel I know it now :) The only minor drawback was the humour was a bit too "much" in spots. Isn't MIDI humorous enough on it's own? lol :)
