General

If you have forgotten your password, or are having problems logging-in, please go to the password retrieval page to create a new one. 

No! N.E.D. downloads each tutorial as a separate video, so once the first one has downloaded, you can begin watching the tutorials. (The rest of the videos will download in the background and will be added to your table of contents as they finish downloading).
No, in order to allow for each access to the search features and forums, the tutorials are intended for playback on your Mac or PC only.

For a monthly or yearly fee, a subscription will give you unlimited access to our entire Tutorial-Video library. Subscriptions are streamed from the Internet through your web browser or in our macProVideo and AskAudio app for iOS so you must be online to have access. Subscribers also receive a discount on HD Download purchases as well. 

HD downloads are viewed through our NED and AskVideo player on your computer or on your iPhone/iPod Touch with NEDi. The tutorials are downloaded directly to your computer/iPhone/iPod Touch so you don't need to be connected to the internet to view the tutorials. They are a higher video quality than the streaming subscription version,  are yours forever and you can install them on up to 3 computers. 

You can view and print your invoices from your account at any time.  Sign into your account on our website and go to the "My Invoices" area. Click on the "Print Invoice" button that will show up beside each order you've made. This will bring your invoice up in a printable view so you can see it and print it from there. If there is an invoice missing please contact Support and we will sort it out immediately.

 First log into your account and then click on "My Account" at the top of the page. When you see your account info click the "Change" button next to the password field.

Subscriptions

For a monthly or yearly fee, a subscription will give you unlimited access to our entire online Tutorial-Video library. Subscriptions are streamed through your web browser or in our macProVideo iOS app (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad). HD downloadable tutorials are available separately for offline viewing. To access your subscription, log in your account in our Web Player and choose the application you want to learn and the tutorial you want to view.

If you wish to upgrade/downgrade your subscription, please contact Support.

You can change your billing information from the "My Subscription" area on our website. If you have paid using your PayPal account, you will need to update the credit card in your PayPal account.

You may cancel your subscription at any time with no penalty or extra fee on our unsubscribe page

Mac

The macProVideo.com tutorial manager and player, called N.E.D. does all the downloading for you:

  1. Go to the How It Works section of our webpage, select the Software tab, and click the "Download N.E.D." green button to download the version of NED for your computer: http://www.macprovideo.com/about/software
  2. After you download NED (it will be a file called N.E.D.3.3.7..zip), it will unzip to wherever your default download location is (i.e. desktop or your “Downloads” folder) NOTE: If it does not unzip automatically, double-click on it to unzip it manually.
  3. NED is now installed. (For convenience, you may want to move the NED software to your Applications folder and to your Dock.)
  4. Double-click on the orange NED icon to open it.
  5. You will be prompted to login. Enter the email you used when creating your account and the corresponding password.
  6. Click on "Downloads & Admin", make sure all tutorials are enabled  and click on the "Download" button. (or if using NED 1 for Tiger, click on the "Tutorials" button in the left hand corner of the Tutorial Manager window and then press the "Update" button in the bottom right hand corner.)
  7. Your tutorials will begin downloading and you can start watching the first videos with NED even as the rest continue to download in the background. The tutorial will appear in the Left-Hand column. Double-click a tutorial to watch it.

 

Click on "Downloads & Admin", make sure all tutorials are checked and click on the "Download" button. (Or if using NED 1 for Tiger, click on the "Tutorials" button in the left-hand corner of the Tutorial Manager window and then press the "Update" button in the bottom right-hand corner.) 

There are usually three things that cause you to be unable to authorize your computer: Safari is not set to accept cookies, there's been some problem with the login, or there is a firewall or router blocking your connection.

SAFARI COOKIES

  1. Open Safari, then click the menu: Safari > Preferences, and then select the “Security” tab
  2. Select either "Always" or "Only from sites you navigate to" under the Accept Cookies area.
  3. Close Safari and open NED.
  4. Now attempt to login again (“Downloads & Admin > Download” in NED 3, or “Tutorials > Updates” in NED 1).

 

If it's still not working, you may need to reset NED's preferences manually: 

        NED 3 (Mac OS 10.7 and over)

  1. Make sure NED is closed.
  2. In the Finder menu, click on Go > Go to Folder...
  3. While in the Go menu, press Option on your keyboard.
  4. Click on Library.
  5. Go to the Preferences folder.
  6. Find the com.nonlineareducating.NED3.plist and delete it. 
  7. Re-open NED and now attempt to login again. 
  8. If you changed the Download Folder location, you'll have to do that again under NED > Preferences.
  9. Click on "Downloads & Admin", press the "Download" button, make sure that all tutorials are enabled and hit "Download" again.

  

NED 3 (Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6)

  1. Make sure NED is closed.
  2. Open a Finder window and go to your user account > Library > Preferences 
  3. Find the com.nonlineareducating.NED3.plist and delete it. 
  4. Re-open NED and now attempt to login again. Please ensure that you type your username and password exactly as you did when         you created your account.
  5. If you changed the Download Folder location, you'll have to do that again under NED > Preferences. 
  6. Click on "Downloads & Admin", make sure that all tutorials are enabled and hit "Download".

NED 1 (Max OS 10.4 and earlier)

  1. Make sure NED is closed.
  2. Open a Finder window and go to your user account > Library > Preferences 
  3. Find the NED_Player.plist file and delete it.
  4. Re-open NED and now attempt to login again. Please ensure that you type your username and password exactly as you did when you created your account
  5. Click on the "Tutorials" button in the left hand corner of the Tutorial Manager window and then press the "Update" button in the bottom right hand corner.

  

NED should now connect and authorize and see you have tutorials to download. Still not able to connect? Please use the support form to contact our support team and they will help you find out if there’s a firewall that might be blocking your connection.

  1. Open NED
  2. Play the tutorial you're missing sections from.
  3. Select a missing video (with a time of 00:00), and right-click on it.
  4. Select “Re-Download” and NED will download this video for you.
  5. Do this for each video that is missing.

If you stopped the download or your internet connection was interrupted, you should be able to just press “Downloads & Admin > Download” (NED 3) or “Tutorials > Update” (NED 1) to resume the download of more videos. If this does not help, you can easily re-download the entire tutorial:

  1. Quit NED.
  2. In a Finder window, go to Your User Account > Documents > NED.
  3. Find the tutorial file that has the missing video sections (i.e. MacOS101.prmg) and delete it.
  4. Re-open NED and press “Downloads & Admin > Download” (NED 3) or “Tutorials > Update” (NED 1) again.

NED will now re-download your tutorial.

You can find your tutorial files in Documents > NED.
  1. Open NED.
  2. Go to NED > Preferences
  3. Browse for a new download location and press Open.
  4. NED will now download to this new location.
  1. Open NED.
  2. Select the tutorial you’d like to move (for NED 1, please click the Tutorials button first, and then select the tutorial)
  3. Click the “Move” button
  4. Browse for a new location.
  5. NED will move the tutorial to that location for you.
  1. Open NED.
  2. Go to NED > Preferences
  3. Browse for a new download location and press Open.
  4. Quit and then re-open NED.

You should now see your tutorials again.

  1. Open NED
  2. Select the tutorial you would like to burn to disc from the Library (NED 3) or in the Tutorials section (NED 1).
  3. Click the “Burn” button underneath the tutorial.
  4. This will bring up a dialogue box that will ask which settings you want to burn your disc with. You can see more options by clicking the little arrow on the top right hand side of the box too. Generally you can leave these settings as they are, but feel free to change them as you like.
  5. Make sure you have a blank recordable DVD inserted in your disc drive.
  6. Press the “Burn” button on the bottom right corner of this box.
  7. You will have a back-up copy of your tutorial on the DVD when the burn process is complete.
  1. Insert the DVD that contains the tutorial you want to watch into your disc drive.
  2. Open NED.
  3. Click the “Add” button on the bottom left corner. (In NED 1 for Tiger, go to the Tutorials tab first).
  4. You will be prompted to browse for your tutorial’s location. Click on the DVD that will be listed under the “Devices” heading on the left hand side.
  5. Select the tutorial that you want to watch. It will be named xxxx.prgm (ie. Logic303TNT.prgm). Then click “Open”.
  6. You will then be asked whether you would like this tutorial to be copied to your hard drive so you can watch it later without having to insert your DVD. OK: NED will copy the tutorial to your hard-drive. Cancel: NED will run the tutorial from the disc.
  7. The tutorial will then be added to your list of tutorials (you may need to restart NED for it to appear).
  8. To watch the tutorial, select it in your list of tutorials and press Play.

To launch NED on Mountain-Lion, right-click (or Control-click) on the app icon in the Finder and choose Open. You will then be prompted with a dialog box. Simply choose Open and NED will launch normally. You only need to do this the first time you launch NED on Mountain Lion.

This is due to a new security feature introduced in OS X Mountain Lion called GateKeeper.

To install NED on Mountain-Lion or Mavericks, right-click (or control-click) on the NED icon in the Finder and choose Open. You will then be prompted with a dialog box. Simply choose Open and NED will launch normally. You only need to do this the first time you launch NED on OS 10.8 and over.

Windows

  1. Download the most recent version of our NED player for Windows here.
  2. Double-click the ned_setup.exe file and install the NED software. When the install process is done, NED will launch automatically.
  3. Enter your Username and Password when prompted and click on "Login".
  4. Click on "Yes" to download your course list.
  5. Double-click the tutorial you want to download and press the "Download All" button to download all videos. You can also double-click the videos one at a time in the Outline if you don't want to download them all.

The tutorial files are located in My Documents > NED.

Sure! You can view all purchased tutorials directly in our Web Player, no need to download them! Log in your account and you will find all purchased tutorials under Account > Purchased Courses

 Select Account > Refresh Course List and your tutorials will appear in NED's Library. Click on the tutorial you want to download and press the Download All button.

macProVideo DAW plug-in

The macProVideo plug-in installer is available for download here:

To install the macProVideo plug-in on Mountain-Lion, right-click on the installer in the Finder and choose Open. You will then be prompted with a dialog box. Simply choose Open and the installer will launch normally.

Make sure the plug-in is validated under Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio Units Manager…

 

If you don't see it in the list, quit and restart Logic. If the plug-in is not validated, select the macProVideo plug-in in the Audio Units Manager window, and press on the "Reset & Rescan Selection" button

 

Please note that the macProVideo plug-in can only be loaded in the Audio FX insert slot; you can't load it as an Instrument.
