Have started 102 training and suddenly NED web refuses to stream the video. It was fine through all 101 training. After waiting for 10 minutes it finally did the intro to 102 but that's as far as I could get it. A big Quicktime icon just comes up on the screen and wont budge even when I ask it nicely :-(

Please help?

Michelle :)

Hey Michelle,

I'm sure that's not true! NEDweb definitely likes you.

Out of interest what version of Quicktime do you have installed on your Mac?

Do other tutorials work ok for you?

Also a good idea to drop a line to Support:
http://www.macprovideo.com/support/ direct - who also like you ;-)

Thanks

Hey Rounik,

I have Quicktime X which came with the iMac

Yeah the 101 tutorial worked fine and would start streaming as soon as I clicked on it. It was only when i started 102 last night that it decided to be uncooperative. I also checked it on 103 and that didn't work either.

I checked my internet connection too but that's no different and working fine...

I sent a message to Support as well

Michelle :-D

Hi Michelle,

I just checked the Logic 9: 102 and the Logic 7: 103 and everything is working here ok.

I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.2, is that the same version you are running?

Let me know if it's working for you and if not I'll follow it up with out friendly Support team.

:)

Hey Rounik,

Very interesting...

Mine's Mac OSX 10.6.3 BUT I know I put my settings in the forum. Just went and checked them then and at the time I put them it it was 10.6.2. So maybe I got an automatic update to 10.6.3 and as a result there's something iffy happening with NedWeb or QT?

The support group got back to me and said to delete files in user>library>caches>quicktime>downloads after shutting down browser and then opening browser again but that didn't help.

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Interesting... thanks for the info. It's good for us to get as much technical info like this as possible so we can sort it asap.

If you haven't already, do drop another support note to Christian to let him know the situation.

In the meantime could you try out these tutorials and let me know if you still get that naughty Quicktime Question mark:

and ah... why not, if you want feel free to give my tutorial a spin. I'm curious to know if it works on your system or not:

Thanks for your patience Michelle! I'll make contact with Christian at Support tonight.

Hi Amar,

This should all work fine now... as we've done a lot of work on these tutorials...

Can you confirm your system specs?

- Mac OS
- Quicktime version
- Safari/Firefox versions
- Can you try clearing the cache again and restarting your Mac?
- If you wait does the Q symbol disappear and the video start?

Thanks
Rounik

p.s. It's a good idea to continue talking with our Support team as they'll have the best and most up to date info to help you find a solution.

Thanks

Hi Amar,

I've checked them here and all playback fine in Firefox 3.6.4 and Safari 4.0.5 on 10.6.3. They all begin playback very quickly.

What is your Internet/broadband connection?

I'm afraid there's not much I can suggest here... I'd really recommend continuing trying to find the issue with our Support Team:
http://www.macprovideo.com/support/

Let me know how you get on.

:)

I have a suggestion. give time to a video to load properly like 10 percent n then any video can start. The problem is that some video cannot load properly so it show errors. or I have to go for 2 or 3 mbps or more speed which i can afford to. :)
The problem is not with the any software's i think. Its the buffer.

Hi Amar,

The videos work fine here and I haven't seen any others reports of this issue on the forums or through our Support area...

Our Servers are working great and regardless of the speed of your broadband you should be able to view the videos albeit with a short wait.

There is a buffer system in place AFAIK.

Please do get back in touch with our Support team as they are more savvy with possible solutions for this.

Thanks
