Audio pops and glitches when recording

I'm getting some little pops and crackles only when recording live audio in.
I tried various buffering rates and latency options and that doesn't seem to be the culprit.
It's a new Mac Pro with SL so power shouldn't be an issue.

Hi Alex,

Try with higher buffer settings and latency... also what audio interface are you using?

:)

I tried some high settings over 500 samples and still was hearing the pops.
The interface is an apogee duet. Just plugging the guitar into one of the ins.

Hi Alex,

Do you have the latest drivers for the Duet?

Have you tried using the second input on the Duet and changing the guitar cable.

Try with the microphone too to make sure it's not a physical issue.

:)

I actually updated the drivers which were out of date and also ableton so I figured this would do the trick. However, I'm still getting the pops. I tried buffer samples up to 1000+ and still similar results.

Hi Alex,

Did you try using different cables and Input 2 on your Duet?

Thanks

Yes I tried a couple of different cables and input 2. Even a mic actually on the xlr. What would be the average buffer size usually?

Hi Alex,

Have you tried restarting your Mac... and perhaps even a repair permissions?

I'd also contact Apogee directly to see if there is any help they might be able to give...

:)
