Ableton Help Requested...

I've got a problem on my machine with Ableton Live 7. When I'm running 6 or more clips my CPU load meter is topping 50%. The result is delayed playback, it takes forever to load and run, and basically isn't running as smooth and quickly as it should.

Here's my system specifications:

ibook G4
Mac OSX Version 10.4.11
Processor - 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4
Memory - 1.5 GB DDR SDRAM
L2 Cache - 512KB
BUS SPEED 142 MHz

Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you repaired permissions on your machine recently or done any other maintenance procedures?

My concern is that your machine is quite close to the minimum requirements to Live. So quit any non-essential applications running in the background, set the buffer settings a bit higher and experiment to see how low a setting you can achieve with little latency.
