Cubase 6 Midi tutorial Info

Hi,
I'm interested in the Cubase 6 - Working with MIDI tutorial. I wish to use a midi foot controller [FCB 1010 along with a Fire Pro Audio Interface] to access various effects and/or instruments used in songs (i.e. one man band scenario) in a live setting. Will this tutorial help me to learn how to control these parameters in Cubase 6?
