MIDI and garageband

In the macProVideo tutorial on garageband, it says to drag the MIDI file to GB and the tracks will appear. When I drag a MIDI purchased from Hit Trax into the tracks window of the newest GB, all the tracks appear with the same instrument. If I drag the same MIDI into the main GB window, the tracks appear with different instruments, but they are the wrong instruments. Any suggestions? Scott

Hi Scott,

Excuse the late reply.

Importing MIDI files into GB and Logic can be a bit hit and miss at times. What "should" the original instruments be?

Best, to drag it in and assign the instruments yourself manually.

go back to where you bought the midi sequences
and get a midi map for each, you should be able to print this out.
