Share your Logic Environments here!

Hi! Please use this thread to share any Logic Environments you have created and wish to share with other forum members.

They can be simple, functional or wacky and weird... completely up to you. Anything you have created which you've found useful and you want to share belongs here!

To upload a Logic Environment, save the project with as few audio files/samples as possible.

1. In the Finder Right-click on the project folder or project file (if no audio files need be included) and choose 'Compress xx'.

2. Use a site like www.sendspace.com to upload the file and copy the URL and paste it in this thread.

3. If you want to upload a picture of your environment see this thread:

4. Remember to include a description of the Environment, what it does and how to make it work. If you prefer you can write detailed instructions in the Project Notes within the project itself.

5. If you download an environment do post back with any comments, questions or constructive criticism.

OK. I'll start the ball rolling with a Macro called Random Nature 2. Call it an early Christmas present ;-)

It is an Note On - Effect Randomizer and is based upon the Randomizer I did a mini tutorial on in Steve H's Logic TNT2 series.

How it works: Full instructions are included in the project and in the Help Menu of the Random Nature 2 Macro.

Includes:
- Automatic parameter Learn mode!
- 4 parameters can be learned and randomized independently
- Ranomzier Speed/Frequency controls
- Ranges can be set easily.

Thanks so much. As you promised, you have this up by the end of the week - and I can see just by reading your posts how busy you are - thanks a million!

I'm quite busy myself these days, and an 'early Christmas present' is just what I need! I'm starting to tap into the power of Logic by using it with my students for education, enjoyment and inspiration in the classroom and for our school shows.

I know this gift will probably take a while to unwrap and fully appreciate, so I'll probably wait 'till after Christmas to open it since my students' show is on the 23rd. (Santa always says not to open your presents before Christmas anyway, right?)

Thanks to JamieNC for providing the impetus on this one!

If you've ever used Ultrabeat you may have come across the Voice Mute feature that allows you to mute individual voices by pressing a key on your MIDI Keyboard.

Wouldn't it be great to be able to mute individual channels in Logic easily using your MIDI Keyboard?

This environment shows how and although it is set up to use Ultrabeat's Aux channels, you can patch the mute buttons to any audio or software instrument channel strips as desired.



There are two modes to play with:
1. Note2Mute mode. Pressing C1 upwards mutes it's assigned channel strip.

2. Random Mute Mode. Press any key and Logic will randomly mute/unmute that channel strip.

There is also a crossfader to fade between the original drum parts and the muteable Aux channels. A Mute all and Unmute all buttons are also available.

Hi All!

I just created a very simple environment that some of the new folks can mess with as a means to getting comfortable with the environment. I think it is useful to some degree since it saves a BUNCH of time trying to automate the effects the system achieves by simply running freely. Here is a pic of the system:



Rounik (the Logic Major) and I (the Logic Private First Class) are on a mission to determine how to incorporate the Pedalboard plug-in into the environment, but in the mean time the Fuzz-Wah plug-in will do. For fun, I made a duplicate of the system and applied it to a Channel EQ, which has some interesting effects.

Basically, the system uses Hi-Hat velocities generated randomly from Ultrabeat to control certain parameters within the plug-in of your choice! On the Fuzz-Wah, it controls the pedal level tab within the range bar, which is controlled on the upper and lower ends by the faders. On the EQ, the velocities activate the mid-range spike, making it jump all over the place. The faders control the Lo-Pass and Hi-Pass levels.

In the arrange window, I have generated two different sets of Hi-Hat velocities so the two plug-ins would have contrasting responses. Each are named according to it's MIDI flow. Please feel free to change the frequency or range of the velocities to your liking, and use the system if it strikes your fancy! I plan on using it for a cool, morphing background in a tune I'm working on.

Please also note that ANY plug-in can be controlled with this with the exception of the darn Pedalboard. A limiter HAS been placed on the channel strip as to avoid any accidents. Open the "Fuzz-Wah" and "Chan EQ" below that to see the system in action. Just press play! Any comments or criticisms are MORE than welcome. It's how I learn best. Here is the file on Sendspace:

It works nicely. I still think we should investigate controlling the Pedal Board plugin. Should be possible using the PEdal boards assignable controls and a nifty way to send MIDI into Logic's environment... I'll explain in more detail when I get the chance to work on it :)

Hi David,

Glad you've found the visual metronome environment useful!

For 3/4 simply change the time signature in Logic's transport and shorten the visual metronome region(s) to fit.

Same for 2/4.

I haven't catered for very different signatures like 5/4 though...(yet) ;-)

Hi Rounik,

I recently discovered your site and just now downloaded the environment to 'fix velocity of midi notes while being recorded into Logic', as this is my latest midi drama.
I am something of a novice it's true, but when I open the file I get 'warning, this project was created using a later version of Logic, please up grade'.
Your project was created by Logic Pro 8, and I am using the latest Version, 8.0.2 (1502.22)

I believe I created the 'Fix velocity' environment using Logic 9. It should still open & work fine in Logic 8 though.

I am trying to figure out how to set up my new Akai midi keyboard in logic's environment, and use all the faders and knobs on the keyboard to work with logics instruments. Does anyone have an environment set up to do that? Or is this covered in any tutorials at MPV?

Have you tried setting it up using the Controller Assignments?

Logic Pro > Preferences > Control Surfaces > Controller Assignments
