Tutorial request

Hello Steve,

at first, many thanks for all of your really great tutorials. I love them, and you really helped me getting things working.

But now I have a feeling of stagnancy in getting better and better results. I'm trying to get a really deep (sub)bassline to fit on a low kick as perfectly as possible to get as much as possible low end energy without getting muddy sounds.

I'm not new to sidechaining and seperating sounds via the right eqing to get well defined frequency bands. But if I compare my work with those two tracks for example, I get absolutely disappointed :

I have already analyzed the frequencies of these two tracks to get to know where the most energy sits in with the help of the analyzer function of logic's channel eq and having a look at the multimeter.

So now I'm looking for an approach how to get very close to my examples. I would be very happy if it could by stuff for a tutorial within the tnt series or anywhere else. I hope it is not to specialised. Perhaps, otherwise you have another idea what I can try to get the right way. All my attempts were in vain.

You may want to layer your bass. On the side from my usual, I produce dubstep using logic. What you're hearing may be a simple low sine following either the bass or kick. If you create a simple sine in ES2 or similar, cut highs on it to about 55 or lower and on your bass, cut those frequencies as well so the sub isn't layering but as if there are two bass parts. It just makes your lower mid bass sound deeper. For a kick, layering a similar low sine in an EXS24 or on a separate midi track helps
