I'm looking for a way to create an emulation of an analog tape rewind; any idea how to do this?

The idea would be to have the audio stop and then sound just like an old tape machine rewinding and then start playing the audio again at the beginning.

Any ideas?

You could use the speed fades on the audio region.

The bounce in place and cut the section which is speed-faded and reverse it in the sample editor.

This could work...

Draw in a fade on your audio file (Esc+0)

Then right click on your fade and you have some options on what the fade will do. Try out Slow Down and see if that gives you the desired result.

If you want to do it to your whole mix then bounce down your mix. Open a new Logic project and import that bounced down audio file and apply the Slow Down Fade.
