Hearing static on my earphones and computer

Hello,

Can anyone tells me what I am hearing static? I
am working with an Imac and and Logic. It's not
always there and comes and goes.
Everything seems to be plugged in properly.
Any ideas are welcome.

Are the earphones plugged into your iMac or your audio interface?

Have you tried another pair of earphones? It may be that the cable on your earphones is faulty.

Funny thing is that when I shut down the computer
and turn it on again it goes away.
I'm not going to argue with it as it's now working!!!
I'm becoming very zen about all of this!!
Curious though, Do you know why it would
would be working now?

I'm not too sure why the sound would go away after restarting, but least it's working now.

The earphones are plugged into the audio interface
