Nasty Distortion

Hi, I am new to Logic Pro and am running into a problem. I am running my guitar into my Firestudio Project and have been messing around with some of the amp simulators. Everything seems to go ok until I try adjusting some of the parameters, when I do that I sometimes get a real nasty digital clipping/distortion that wont go away until I shut everything down and start it back up. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Lonesome,
Try turning the I/O Safety Buffer on in Preferences -> Audio -> I/O Safety Buffer. This will work IF the problem is caused by buffer overload.

Give it a try and see if it works.

Alternatively you can increase the buffer size but this will also increase latency which is generally most noticeable when playing guitars, but this is a problem we all deal with i guess.

Thanks Fusilli, I'll try that right now.
