Pro tools 10 and Mbox

I currently run Pro tools 8 with the second generation of the Mbox

Im thinking of upgrading to Pro tools 10 anytime soon. Im wondering will I need the ilock to operate this or my Mbox will do


I know this threat is not directly associated with any tutorial, is just a little information I need to know before I get my copy of the new Pro tools 10 tutorials

I will appreciate if anyone will kindly honour this thread

Yes, you will need an iLok.

Before PT9 your Digidesign audio interface acted as your dongle to ProTools.

ProTools have done away with audio specific interfaces. Now you can use any audio interface with ProTools, but you do need the iLok which holds your ProTools authorisation.
