Musical Pages

I am trying to create a page (or even a whole site) that streams music files in the background, and can display the titles and change them when a new file starts. This guy's site is an example of what I'm trying to accomplish:
http://www.kitwatkins.com/indexmain.htm

Can this all be done in Flash? Or do you need to make special arrangements with the server, or utilize some other (online) application?

Any and all tips and input appreciated!

As I'm sure you've heard before, "it depends". If you don't need to protect the MP3 files being served via the site, then you don't need much magic. Snow and I built a MP3 player for one of our clients a few years ago:

http://www.lelandforever.com

This player just loads MP3 files from the web server and plays them one after another, and loops. The specific implementation was written in ActionScript 2.0, and is compatible back to Flash Player 8.

HTH.

Hey Robert

Thanks for the reply, and the link to your example which is pretty much on the money as far as what I want to do. I would be very interested as to the ActionScript implementation you mentioned; is there a reference to it in your course, or some resource I can go to in order to learn how to create a "player page"? The MP3 files being used would serve as more of a soundtrack to enhance the site than as a promotion of specific musics, but I'd still like to display track info on the site (on/off buttons or progress bars not necessary).

Thanks again!
