pixilated photo &

I'm just starting out with photoshop and I'm using CS4.

I opened a jpeg and it is pixilated in photoshop, but looks fine normally. Then I click on the text icon, which adds a layer, but when I type, the text is miniscule.

I'm trying to make a CD cover.

Hi John,

Did you check in the bottom left corner of the canvas in PS whether you're zoom level is 100%?

Also, you can use the font settings panel to increase or decrease the font size.
