TIPS FOR DOWNLOADING WITH NED

FIRST: COOKIES

Please check that Safari is set to accept cookies:

1. Safari > Preferences > Security
2. Select either "Always" or "Only from sites you navigate to"
3. Close Safari and then try to download your tutorials again.

SECOND: NED's PREFERENCES

If you are still unable to download tutorials, please re-set NED's preferences:

1. Make sure NED is not running.
2. Go to your Mac's user account > Library > Preferences

NED 3 (OS 10.5 Leopard)
-Find and delete the com.nonlineareducating.NED3.plist file

NED 1 (OS 10.4 Tiger)
-Find the NED_Player.plist file and delete it.

3. Now try download again.

THIRD: MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS

NED can only login into one account at a time. If you have created multiple accounts, and purchased tutorials using both, NED will only be checking ONE account. If you can see older orders, and not newer ones, this is likely the issue. Please contact support to have your accounts merged.

If you are still running into issues, please contact Support directly.

Try downloading an older version, 2.0. Once you do that your tutorials will download. Then you can view them in 3.14

The folks at MacPro support gave me a temporary work around. They are working on fixing the bug in 3.14.

This is the exact procedure that the folks at support sent, and it worked fine:

1. Download NED 2.0
http://www.macprovideo.com/MPV/NED_2-Mac.zip

2. An update dialog window will open. Click on "Skip this version"

3. Click on the "Download" tab and hit "Update".

Once I did this the tutorials downloaded. I was then able to use 3.14 to view. Got to say the support folks were really fast with help.

I had a problem with the latest NED. (3.1.5)
I followed the tips and removed the .plist

And after putting in my pasword it was working.
I bought the new Color 1.5.

After buying, startup NED
It has again a problem with connecting to server

After the connecting warning was gone. I get 2 empty screens and NED is locked.

And I was hoping to see the first HiRes traing of Color but again NED let me down

And when working again. Teh help section is not helpfull it is from a older version

Again I removed the .plist of NED
And log on again. No all my tutorials are showing And on the right site something is downloading 1 of 2 But after a while again NED stops working.
2 windows in NED ('middle and right pane) are gray. And nothing is showing.

I cannot get NED to download at all. I thought that having FireFox instead of Safari as the default browser was the problem, but it is not.

Any tips to fix this? Deleting the plist file does not help.

Thanks.

Hey Moob303,

Have you tried logging out and then logging back in again in NED?

Which version of NED?

Are you running OSX 10.6.2 as your profile says?

Cheers
Rounik

You know, mine works fine now. It has been so long I forget how it fixed. I do remember tech support was great. I use a Mac with Firefox and Safari, so that is not the issue. Wish I was more help.

Hi Rounik,

no you are right, I upgraded to OSX 10.6.3. I will change my profile.

By deleting my plist file, I had to log back in. Is that enough? Or should I try to really log out and log back in? I will try tonight.

It use to work not so long ago. I wonder if my update to 10.6.3 could be the issue.

I forgot to mention that I am running the latest version of NED (3.3? Not sure since I am not on my Mac... but I remember doing an update and getting the message "You are running the latest NED version", or something like that).

What I meant was, I was not on my Mac when I wrote the message. I was on my PC. I have a PC and a Mac, and they are not in the same building. So that was "not on MY Mac" and not "not on A Mac". :)

With that said, I figured what the problem was. This case it solved.

NED 3 is not downloading even after deleting the .plist files indicated in the FAQ page.

I downloaded NED 2 and I am not able to login on the download page because my password doesn't work, for some reason. In all other sections my password works but still I am not being able to download my tutorials.

Any help? Thank you.

Hello thesello,

So, in NED 3 and NED 2 you are able to log-in and see the list of your tutorials available to download in the "Download & Admin" section?

Could you please send a message to our friendly Support Team:
http://www.macprovideo.com/support/

with information such as:

- Mac spec
- Mac OS version
- version of Quicktime
- Any other specific information related to your Mac which may be relevant.

Thanks
Rounik
