I meant to mention this to Martin and Steve at NAMM:
You guys should take a look at iVideo (http://ivideoapp.com/). I use it for launching some of the DVD tutorials I have converted and it works great and does many of the things the preview view requested (playback position per video, etc).
As the preview viewer suggested the sub, sub, sub folders on the left are a nightmare to navigate. The ability to click a tutorial on the left and do the managing of it on the right would be much more fluid.
Feature Requests:
-The ability to create playlists for videos on the left
-The ability to create folders to store those different playlists of Tutorials would be great. (Doing this would allow you to create categories for your tutorials such as Logic Film and TV, Logic Editing, Logic Mixing, Pro Tools Mixing, Audio Plugins, Instrument Plugins, etc)
Also using the above method one could create a custom set of the videos they are in the process of watching and flag favorites and tips of certain videos making keeping track of their learning much more managable.
-Add the ability to add notes to the clips and then see them in one simple interface. For instance when clicking on the tutorial on the left you would have 2 options:
1. see the contents of the video on the right (instead of just the image of the tutorial in coverflow) and instead of having to drill down like you currently have to.
2. and you could also toggle to see the notes you added for each clip you found something you need to remember. This way you have quick access to an overview of all of the notes you made for that course. iVideo some nice views that might work for this sort of thing as well.
-Please Add a Thumbnail view of the tutorial images on the right instead of the coverflow view (or in addition to). Coverflow is kind of useless unless you want to cycle through 50 tutorials. I think the thumbnail view (where thumbnails are adjustable in size, as in finder, itunes, ivideo, etc) is a much better way to get an overview of your tutorials. They would show up with images on 1 page. Especially when you have around 50 as I do, this is the only way to go.
I actually added icons via get info to the tutorials in the NED folder and that is where I go to decide what I want to work.
Thats off the top of my head. I hope it is helpful. I thing NED could be very powerful and a big incentive to use your tutorials.
Best
