Hi all,

Just purchased PT 8 Mastering tut and am trying to install and run NED, but can't.

I have .NET Framework 1.1, 1.1 hotfix, 2.0 service pack 2, 3.0 service pack 2, and 3.5 SP1 installed on XP Pro SP3.

I get this error pop-up when trying to run the NED app...

Microsoft .NET Framework

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

Hello Ashley,

Welcome to the macProVideo forums. I am not a Windows User, but notice you mention having .NET framework version 1. You need version 2.0:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569263.aspx

To contact Support please click on the Support link at the top of this page or follow this link:
http://www.macprovideo.com/support/
Fill in the form and send all the above details. They are great and will help you get up and running asap. (Monday-Friday).

In the meantime, for the "Invalid signature in tutorials document" message try this:

1. In the Tutorial Manger, click on the Tutorials button

2. Click Add, then browse to the folder containing the mov files and add the folder. In this case "Pro_Tools_401" on another drive.
3. Click Update
4. Enter user name and password and the signature should be corrected.

I hope this helps. But either way please do contact our Support Team for more help.

Thanks
Rounik

Hi,

Thanks for the swift reply. I do have .NET 2.0 and all others as mentioned, but something weird is up.

I am unable to run the tut manager as NED doesn't run at all. I get that error and if I click continue NED just flashes, then nothing.

I am running NED fine on my Mac so I'll use that in the meantime, but would like to have the option of running it on my PC too.

I've sent a support e-mail, and hope to get a reply Monday. Thought it might be quicker here if someone has any ideas...???

Cheers,

Ash :o)

Hi Ash,

Cool. Time difference may play a part in terms of the reply. (PDT not BST). Either way, all support requests are answered within 24 hours... and our Support Team are really nice and will work with you to resolve the issue.

Just to check you are using the latest version of NED for Windows:
http://www.macprovideo.com/meetned/?os=win&ver=win

and you do meet the minimum requirements (in terms of Quicktime 7)?

Hope you enjoy the tutorial on your Mac in the meantime.

:)

I have pretty much the same issue as Ashley with the same tutorial, although my XP Pro version of N.E.D. doesn't crash, it simply downloads only one file and then stops (tried it on two different machines). It lists the chapters, but none are actually available. Like Ashley, it works fine on the Mac side. Any ideas? Thanks!

Yep dl'd the latest NED for XP.

Having some trouble on my Mac atm. The audio won't output through my audio interface, only my Mac speaker.

I'm running a Digi 002 via core audio, and have set it as my default system output in system prefs and audio midi setup, but no go.

Any ideas? Sorry If I should repost in the Mac section. I really want to watch these.

Thanks :o)

RE: Mac issue

Sorted it, it's working now after a computer restart and making sure the 002 was already on... even though I do always do this.

Must've been some glitch.

Happy now :o)

Just gotta sort the Win XP issue and I'm on my way.

Hi,

I had a reply from support, but just haven't had time to try things out - very busy getting better after a torn Achilles.

Here's what they told me...

---------------------------
Could you tell me if you are running Windows 32 or 64 bit ? (You can follow this link to learn how to determine if you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows :http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827218 )

I would like to make sure that you have the .NET framework installed on your PC. There's this free software that is available that will tell you exactly the version of .NET framework that you have installed on your computer. If you are missing any version, it will show up in RED and you will be able to click on the arrow to get a link to download the update on the Microsft website.

Please download this software, launch it, download any necessary .NET updates, and then try to install NED again. (2.0 .net framework is required)

http://www.asoft.be/prod_netver.html

Also make sure that you have the following installed :

1. QuickTime 7.x
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/

2. Windows Update from MS KB932716
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b5f726f1-4ace-455d-bad7-abc4dd2f147b&DisplayLang=en

3.Windows service pack 3
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=68c48dad-bc34-40be-8d85-6bb4f56f5110&displaylang=en

Then try to download and install NED again :

I look forward to hearing back!
-----------------------------------

Please post me how you get on. I'm currently running my purchase on my Mac, but would like the option of running future stuff on my PC, just like I said, haven't had the time to try.

Best,

Ash :o)

Thanks Ashley.

What I don't understand about this is it DID work until I went into the preferences and changed my location. After that it fails to load... and crashes very ungracefully.. Normally I'd expect an error like "your path is wrong" but instead the Framework fails?

Very curious.. All my machines are up to date. It works fine on my Desktop XP machine at home, and I tried changing the location of the files (using a thumb drive), and installed NED on my work PC(xp) and my laptop (vista), and now both don't work at all. I can't even fully remove NED and reinstall to make it work. I am thoroughly baffled.
