ERROR - Windows 7 (64-bit) ...very disappointing

I just purchased the NI KORE tutorial and downloaded the required NED Software. I am running Windows 7 (64-Bit) and receive the following install error when trying to install the NED-Windows.exe:

"WinZip Self Extractor error message: Can't create output file
C:Userssanelso2AppDataLocalTempspt.exe"

Unfortunately, I did not see that the NED program was not compatible with 64-bit Windows until "AFTER" I purchased the tutorial, as the information is presented in downlink after purchase and not through the product info pages before or during purchasing.

Does anyone know if there is a downloadable solution for the tutorial I purchased?

Hi sanelso2

There are a couple of solutions for Windows 7 64-bit users:

You can watch your purchased download tutorials online through NEDweb. Click on the Launch Player button at the top right of the page and navigate to the NI Kore tutorial.

Secondly, there are some users who have successfully run NED in XP emulation mode. I'll see if I can find out more info about this and post back here. Unfortunately, as a Mac user I can't test this out on my system.

But you may find the post by 'Learning' on June 24th @ 10:31pm PDT to be of use:

Scroll down to the end of the page to find it.

Let me know how you get on and do also send a note to our Support team who have the latest info and will do their best to help:

Thanks

Thanks Rounik,

I was unsuccessful running NED in XP emulation mode. :(

However, I was surprised to find that watching the tutorials online through the online NEDweb was pretty "smooth" and relatively "glitch-free" (at least on my system). Fearing typical streaming issues was the reason I wanted the downloaded version, but so far so good with the online NEDweb version.

Do you know if MacProVideo will allow me access to the NEDweb version, at least until the 64-Bit issues are solved?

Thanks again for the response!

Hi sanelso2,

Yes, NEDweb is pretty cool and getting better all the time..!

I'm pretty sure we won't be disabling the streaming online version anytime in the near future... In fact it's something which is seen as a fair bonus for those you purchase an HD tutorial.

Do let Support know what's going on for you so we are aware of your situation.

Many thanks,

Yes, this should be a LOT more prominently displayed on the site, IMHO.

Anyone know when a Win7-compatible version will be coming out?

Meanwhile - I installed NED on my XP computer. I've attempted to log in with my site credentials and I keep getting the error that NLE loging failed (or something similar).

Suggestions?

you can stream the online version of your HD download but the streaming versions have pixlated text
I can believe the expect people to pay $25 a month or $250 year for unreadable text.
do they not realize 64 bit is becoming more mainstream if you don't do something quick you'll left behind
