Hello everyone,
these are my observations.
Trying to sync NED and NEDi has been a pretty frustrating experience.
First I tried converting videos from three libraries (that can convert the videos to NEDi format, which isn't possible on all libraries) beforehand. This was a process constantly plagued by crashes but without any reports.
It definitely won't convert say 2 or 3 libraries at at time, that's just asking for trouble. You should only choose one library to convert. It crashes anyway a few times along the line.
Then it turns out that there's no point in doing this work at all. NED won't use the preconverted libraries. When you start the syncing/downloading process with NEDi NED will reinitiate the process of converting them.
This is a bit of a shame, given the following:
1. Converting each video is a very time consuming process.
2. For NED and NEDi to sync the iPhone cannot be hooked up via USB to the computer. This will effectively interrupt the process. If they're connected via USB beforehand the syncing will simply not take place.
If these circumtances are met then NEDi will keep the iPhone ON (the energy savings option will be turned off and the light on the iPhone will be on all the time). This will be kept up beyond the end of the syncing/downloading process up until somebody turns the NEDi app off.
This one was an all nighter so you must have the iPhone hooked up to another power source than the computer or the iPhone will quickly be decharged.
