Hello All

I had this problem months ago...safari running slowly...
the pages seem to have a delay displaying content... blue line runs through address bar and I get a 3-5 second delay before I see the full web page.
I have done a clean install, I have unplugged my router and ISP modem, repaired permissions, tried 32 bit, 64bit
I have speed tested my MAC Pro and my Macbook Pro.
Macpro gets sporadic results and macbook is very consistent... on the same network.

very frustrated and do not know what to do anymore
my MAC Pro is 2006
ISP has changed my modem, apple says it's interference, yet the macbook works fine,
apple also stated that my macpro cannot operate at the same internet speed as my macbook(2007)

I've since added some RAM, bought it from OWC, noticed that other day that my second display is a times overheating
I've spent a tome of money on this computer and can't understand why I can't surf the web like a hero, also noticing that steaming video is very slow i.e. youtube

The only thing that will effect faster Internet speed is your modem and your ISP. What speed is the connection you purchased from your ISP? Call them and ask them what upload and download speeds you're paying for.

RAM won't speed anything up, nor effect the temperature of any thing, especially a monitor. Monitors get hot, that's life. What is the make/model of your monitor?

Reinstalling the OS won't help most problems, that's a waste of time.

Are you on wired or wireless connections to your modem? What version of the OS are you running on each Mac? Are you running the latest version of Safari? Have you tried running FireFox?

Are you connecting via Airport on both the Mac Pro and the Macbook? If so, it could be some form of interference.

1. Maybe try connect the Mac Pro via an ethernet cable and see if the speeds improve.

2. Another thing, try connect your Macbook elsewhere. Like at a friends place or wifi spot and see if the same problem persists. Also check with different web browsers like BenB recommended. If the problem still persists it will be related to something on your Mac.

Let us know and we can troubleshoot more.
