Does anyone have any idea how FCP 1.03 will perform in multi clip with four tracks or story lines that each carry a stop start DSLR camera, plus three additional audio tracks with the whole lot lasting about an hour! All the tuts I am seeing have short little clips!

Would have like to have seen the workflow for editing multi cam with proxy files..not quite sure when you make those files or does it matter?

Am trying to make it easy on the computer/program by pre processing to Pro Res LT and using proxy files

Yes, and it does it quite easily. Since DSLR's have no SMPTE timecode, it lets you use the Creation time/date metadata to place them all in one track, in proper order. FCP X's multicam will let you sync by several different methods at one time.
