Greg contribue à rendre ce tutoriel un logiciel agnostique en expliquant les paramètres de la réverbération, l'égalisation, le retard et les plugins de compression qu'il utilise dans le détail. Cela rend plus facile à traduire en d'autres DAW. Que vous soyez un sonar, Cubase, Ableton Live, Logic, Nuendo ou Pro Tools LE utilisateur, vous serez en mesure de traduire les techniques de Greg à vos mixages. Le style de musique ambiante utilisé n'est pas important ... bien que je suis personnellement un grand fan d'ambient bien mélangé ambiante et trouver est assez délicat (!). Ces conseils peuvent être utiles pour mélanger tous les styles musicaux allant du pop au rock à l'electronica au folk ... c'est parce que c'est une question d'espace et de donner à chaque son son propre espace distinct, tout en unifiant le tout dans le mélange.
J'aime que Greg met en place sa fenêtre Mixage et plugins en termes d'espace et non par l'instrument. Par exemple, de nombreux effets mélangez un groupe d'ingénieurs pour le mélange par type. par exemple, Batterie et percussions, basse, guitares, voix, etc Toutefois, la méthode de Greg divise l'arrangement dans un espace sonore de proximité, à mi-chemin et "chemin, le chemin du retour". En utilisant cette méthode comme un modèle, je pense, rend beaucoup plus facile pour ensuite placer vos instruments choisis / sons dans l'espace sonore et d'explorer placement du son de façon organique. Mise en place réverbérations différentes: 1 seconde (avant de l'espace), 3,5 secondes (au milieu de l'espace) et 7 secondes (loin d'espace) est l'un des secrets efficaces pour aider à créer trois dimensions dans votre mix. Filtrage des réverbérations et des retards, en ajustant le retour à 0% et en comprimant les sons individuels sont d'autres techniques discutées (parmi beaucoup d'autres!)
Trois conseils utiles de mélange:
Astuce 1 - Ecoutez attentivement votre arrangement. Construire une image mentale / soniques où les instruments et les sons seraient dans une chambre. Percussions par exemple à l'extrême arrière, cordes à la droite proche.
Astuce 2 - Split la profondeur sonore en 3 sections: Proche, Moyen et Far Away. Utilisez différents réglages de temps de réverbération pour aider à atteindre l'illusion de la distance. C'est une question de perspective.
Astuce 3 - la compression des sons lourds dans le champ proche peut les aider à s'asseoir dans l'avant-garde. Des changements subtils d'EQ et de compression peuvent aussi avoir un effet plus dramatique lors de l'écoute Retour à l'ensemble du mix.
A mon avis ce tutoriel est un incontournable!
