NonLinearEducating.com Is Alive ...

Hello World ... NonLinearEducating.com is launched March 5th, 2010.

http://www.NonLinearEducating.com

Five years ago when I started this company, I was a technical author for Apple. Specifically, I wrote courseware for Logic, Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, and Soundtrack Pro ... it's safe to say my world at the time was centered on Apple Pro software.

Being focused as I was on Pro Software for Apple computers, I named my business "macProVideo.com." For a long time this worked fine. It took a few years before we decided to expand into other software applications. But then we realized a problem: Because we are called "macProVideo.com," Windows PC users don't buy our tutorials.

Now, in the beginning I wasn't totally oblivious to the limit our name put on us ... indeed, I registered winProVideo.com the very same time as I registered macProVideo.com. More importantly, I named the parent company NonLinear Educating Inc., a name I thought left us open to explore all avenues of video-based training (and not just software tutorials either ... we have other interesting videos like the "How to Make Beer and Wine" tutorials at BoozHowTooz.com).

BTW, if you're wondering how I chose NonLinear Educating Inc. as a name, it all comes down to a pun. Digital video editing workstations are often called "Nonlinear Editors" because they allow you to edit any part of a digital video, in any way you want. This contrasts with the old "Linear Editors" of yore which were simple film splicing machines that allowed the editor to quite literally tape together a series of film cells in a linear fashion until the film was finished.

Because digital video editing workstations are called "Nonlinear Editors," and because we were delivering educational content through digital video, I made a play on words and called the company "NonLinear Educating Inc." Pretty punny hey? Okay ... moving on.

With the launch of NonLinearEducaitng.com, our company is about to embark on an exciting new path that excludes nobody that wants to learn software. Whether Mac or PC, you can come to NLE and learn confidently.

If you're a long time macProVideo.com fan, don't worry ... macProVideo.com is going nowhere! We're still running this site and all tutorials that are Mac only will continue to be marketed under this brand.

All cross platform titles, however, will now be marketed as NonLinearEducating.com tutorials. This includes all of our Adobe CS titles, as well as MS Office and other PC based software tutorials.

Of course, you can purchase both macProVideo.com and NonLinearEducating.com tutorials at both sites, and your subscription lets you stream from both sites as well. There is no restrictions on what you can watch or where you have to watch it ... use whichever site works best for you!

NonLinearEducating.com ... the new portal for cross platform software tutorials! Check it out ...
