Color is like candy for video producers. It allows you to remove that annoying video "haze" by popping your contrast and saturation to make the images on the screen look sharp and professional. But you can't correct your video's color without understanding the science behind the edits you are making, and that's where this tutorial really sparkles.
If you've seen any of Michael's movies, you know he's a master story teller. More than most people, Michael knows how screen color adds to the emotional effect of moving pictures. Subtle corrections, like adding blush to the cheeks of an embarrassed character, or changing a dull gray ocean into a vibrant blue tropical sea ... these subtle changes can make or break a video, and color is the perfect tool for the Job.
But Color doesn't stop there! With the ability to do complex secondary color correction, Color lets you change certain hues in the frame without effecting others. Turn a living, green forest into a dead brown, and depressing scene. Change a character's shirt from pink to red. Add Color's sophisticated motion tracking abilities into the mix, and your red shirt will stick to the character, even as the character moves around the scene. This is some mind blowing stuff, and you'll learn how it works, as you watch this tutorial.

I've really gone in a different direction with this one ... this is the tutorial I've always wanted to make. It is not the simple overview of menus and functions you will find in most tutorial videos or text books. This is a detailed exploration of sound.
Chapter 1 begins the exploration of Logic while examining how audio works, starting with the most basic waveform, a sine wave! Through the chapter, you will look closely at how amplitude and frequency combine to make sound. We even jump into Soundtrack Pro for a bit to do some deep analysis of frequency (hey, it's Logic Studio now, so why not?!).
As the chapters continue, there will be increasingly advanced topics covered, and by the end of this tutorial, you'll know how to think like Logic. You'll also learn a lot about audio and how sounds combine to make songs. IMHO, this is going to be REALLY fun adventure ...
I'm EXTREMELY curious to know what you think about this tutorial. Please let me know by either posting a review, or visiting the forum:

N.E.D. 1.0 for Mac is now available. Featuring a new built-in download manager, N.E.D. 1.0 innovates the way video tutorials are deployed.
All users may now use N.E.D. to download video tutorals. Users with dial-up modems or in distant countries can confidently use the progressive download features to ensure successful file transfers.
N.E.D. will resume dropped connections where you left off. You can watch tutorial videos you've already downloaded even if you are not connected to the Internet.

Reason 103: REX & FX Is Now Available

Hip hop producers have long known that REX files offer the perfect method for flipping beats and phrases to create new, musically interesting cut-ups, but there's a lot more to REX files than just remixing pre-existing sounds. If you haven't begun making your own REX files, the beginning of this program demonstrates why REX files are central to any Reason workflow!
After learning the secrets of making your own REX files, you'll move on to explore all of Reason's Built-in digital signal processing (DSP) effects. More than just a quick tour, this tutorial shows you the how AND why of using DSP effects. There's lots of hidden tips and tricks that you can only learn with time. Or you can learn them quickly, by watching an expert show you the way ...
This series is designed to make your Mac your friend. It starts with the basics, including working with the Finder and the Dock to quickly locate and launch files and applications. You'll also learn how to set up and use important system applications like Dashboard, and Exposé.
The program moves on to discuss important workflow issues like burning recordable discs and working with disk images and the system Zip tool to save, compress, and transport files.
But best of all, you'll learn keyboard shortcuts, workflow techniques and lots of little tricks that you'll use daily while piloting your computer. There's so much to know, this series shows you how!
