I really enjoyed this tutorial. It covered a lot of material and was clear to understand. Thanks.
I found the tutorial to be very in depth than others i've seen. So far i've learnt some new tips although some of the videos are a little short but still very good stuff. Is there any other more in depth videos you might have. Thanks.
The music is way to soft behind the instruction.. not quite as slic and to the point as the logic series. Tends to mumble a bit. otherwise great - good way to learn...
I purchased this tutorial to learn Ableton Live. I have purchased 3 other tutorials from macprovideo.com (logic 7 and 8 and ESX24 advanced concepts) and I loved them. Unfortunately the Ableton Live tutorial was less than I expected compared to the logic tutorials. I was hoping to get more out of it about performance, the teacher seemed to be rehashing the same simple concepts over and over and never really got to the real concepts about controlling live in and live performance setting, the basic were covered and thats about it. The quality of the videos are excellent, the content about average, I am hoping that I'll be able to download more about ableton and how to use it in a live setting.
Always love your tutorials, how ever I find myself falling asleep to the ones with english accents, I end up skipping the ableton live lessons simply because i feel its dragging on, long pauses, sluring of words. Maybe its the radio producer in me, but that voice over is some what a drag. Thanks again. As asked feed back good or bad.
Very useful tutorial. I am new to live, and had some problems to use it. Ableton made a great job in usability, but the complexity and features of the software need to be handled. If you watch the whole tutorial you know almost everything about live 6. The structure of the video is very good. You can find the right film for your problem very often. On my wishlist is a tutorial about producing electronic music with ableton with an special chapter about using live with reason. That would be great. With live and reason you got everything you need to make really innovative music. I hope there will be an update for the tutorial for live 7.
As a Systems Engineer, I touch alot of technology, and I know how frustrating it can be to stay abreast of all the different technologies; and I've tried many. Your video courses are both outstanding AND convenient. I find that they fit very comfortably into my busy schedule and continue to pique my curiosity with all these new little things I learn. I'm very impressed with your series, but Martin's style of teaching is excellent. It's just too bad he doesn't have a sense of humor ! (Just teasing, sir ! ) I have some other videos to view as well, so I'll write up some reviews of those as well afterwards. Thank you again.
I thought the instructional video for Ableton 6 was very good. Everything was instructed very methodically. Everything flowed extremely well. This video enabled me to learn the system without reading the entire book. Very good job.
The tutorial started out great and clearly the tutor is enthusiastic about the application. As the tutorial went into greater detail about certain functions, the clips he chose to use could have been better at demonstrating the desired effect. Some of the audio sounds he manipulated were too abstract to see how they would fit in musically with a typical composition of popular music. Overall it was excellent and unlocked the application for me. Thank you and I will use your service with other applications. -Jason
BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRIALLIANT! Excellent tutorials that surpass abletons own in built ones. The value for money is outstanding and I was delighted to find that NED (their awesome edcation platform programme) updates itself so you get extra goodies arriving even after you have finished the course! Cant recommend these courses highly enough - The HYPER LEARN facility is priceless. The ability to learn at twice the speed is something you cant be without. Buy now or regret later - like I did - I could have had an album finished by now if I'd got these courses sooner!!!
For those who dont know where to start with ableton live this is the tutorial for you, I was clueless as to what this program can do but this tutorial helped me out big time, now I can finally start making beats with the simplest of ease, highly recommended for noobs
I am very dissappointed about your video,I was expecting some thing more professional, more deep, some tricks and tips.(MASTERING LIVE6).Actually in my opinion it's good just for beginners.I wouldn't recommend your video to anyone.I found it very bouring, never again.
I'd highly recommend the Ableton Live 6 courseware. I've now a great understanding of the product which has helped me heaps. Has to be the best $55AUD I've spent in a very very long time. Highly recommended, thanks macprovideo!
With 2 books on the subject (2 more on the way) and numerous articles and performances, Martin Delaney really knows his way around Ableton Live. Delaney shows it ably in this tutorial, one that is both well-presented and deep with content. Delaney has a knack for getting to the point quickly and clearly, so I've often played excerpts from Ableton Live 101 for my sound design and music composition/production students. Whereas some other Ableton Live tutorials on the market fall well short of the mark, I can highly recommend Martin Delaney's Ableton Live 101. Looking forward to his Live 102 follow-up. Just wanted to say, as a pretty experienced DJ this has opened up a whole new world to me of remixing my own tracks. Fantastic clear tutorial which I am returning to over and over again as I venture further into the depths of Ableton. Will definately recommend your tutorial to anyone who is interested in learning Ableton.
Yet another masterpiece from macProVideo. This tutorial is essential to learning Ableton Live. Before purchasing this training I had a little experience with Ableton Live. This training took me about a week to complete and it gave me the knowledge I needed to be become an advanced user. I give it 10 stars!
I currently have 10 macProVideo tutorials. They are all excellent. This particular one really shows you all the amazing features of this application. Whether you're a DJ or "old school" (like me!), you'll definitely learn all you need to know to really get to grips with Live. Martin Delaney obviously knows this application inside out and his tutorial is delivered in an entertaining way with lots of dry English humour which I particularly enjoyed being from England myself! So, once again, a big thumbs up to all at mPV. If you've got Ableton Live, get this tutorial, you won't regret it!
MacProVideo does it again! This tutorial is a must have for the Ableton Live beginner and those who use the program regularly. Live for some can look deceptively simple but Martin Delaney opens up a whole new world of possibilities by explaining some amazing production techniques. Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 of this tutorial are amazing! If you want to master live and the concepts behind it quickly this is a must have! Thanks Martin & MacProVideo!
