Reviews
Although I have only viewed perhaps 10% of the material included in this package, the video clips viewed so far have each exceeded my expectations by a good margin. My use of Final Cut Pro is sporadic and the learning curve tends to fade between one job and the next. These tutorials are the perfect way to both build new skills and polish up rusty ones.
When I wanted some Apple Logic help I turned to MacProVideo. Now I need to do some of my own music video with Final Cut Express, I came to MacProVideo straight. And guess who is the instructor? Michael Whol, the guy made the original Final Cut. I'm new to video but Michael's teahcing style is down to earth, easy to understand and well paced. $49.50 and about a day of watching, I feel I am all up to speed! See you on YouTube!
What can I say. I watched this tutorial and the doors opened. I am a long client of macprovideo and I am amazed every time how good they are.
This is not a review of a specific tutorial but an review of the tutorials from Mac Pro video I have bought. I have used Final Cut since version 1.25 the first Pal version and has used it for personal project like editing movies of my Three children growing up. I Decided to learn how to use Final Cut Pro properly when I bought version 5. It was around that time Martin started MacPro video, Martins first Final Cut tutorial as well as his DVD Studio pro tutorial were among the many books and tutor...
Solid tutorial. I was able to pick and choose which tutorial to watch in order to solve a problem I was having while editing. The tutorial was able "enlighten" me and get me up and running.
The tutorials help me very much on the learning curve with my software. There are times that I can't find specific topics. After purchasing FCP 6 I learned that I had to purchase the earlier version to learn how to import clips. Then watching FCP 6 it showed me much of how to edit. But I couldn't find anything on creating titles, animations, or making the final movie. I must admit though I was jumping through sections that I thought would get me going. I have never used FCP before so I have no c...
This is an superb video tutorial. Having just purchased Final Cut Express I found the tutorial very informative and helpful. I would have liked more on compositing and green/blue screen in the video. Still, a very good bunch of lessons. I find it great to look things up while doing a project though it's hard sometimes to remember all the little details. Five Stars!!
I like your tutorial of it's concise structure . Very easy to remember specific parts and navigate to it later . The red ring around the cursor is helpfull .
I found this set of tutorials to be incredibly useful, and feel as though I’ve been working with FCP for years rather than mere weeks after following the course. In addition to the invaluable content, tips, and tricks, I found the presentational style to be highly personable, which makes all the difference when sitting through hours of video. I should add that I rarely purchase tutorials, and even more rarely feel compelled to comment on them afterwards, but I’m happy to give this set 5/5...
I have to tell you guys, this video is amazing. I have used your Logic 8 video and loved it and this was no different. Being totally new to FCP and having to do a project with a deadline, I didn't know how I was going to get this done. Should I go to the book store and buy a few tutorial books? I am so glad that I chose to go this video route! Within the first viewing of this video, I was editing quickly and easily. There is no way that I could have learned any faster even if I had a tea...
I have a number of books about FCP and have read some of them cover to cover. I still am not anywhere near proficient at FCP and use iMove mostly. I think maybe video editing inclined people learn easier from video than from books... at least I think I do. I love your FCP training video I downloaded and I love that I can remove it from my computer and have it copied to a DVD, so I don't need to clog up my computer with training videos. It still needs NED on my computer to start but that's fine. ...
At first I was a bit sceptical about contributing to the Final Cut 6 tutorial because I have Final Cut Express. Although Express does appear in the tutorial title I was apprehensive that it would be heavily slanted towards the full Final Cut. I need not have worried. The majority of this superb tutorial covers all the main elements of Express in great detail and Michael Wohl does a fine job in putting the complexity of this superb programme across in easy to follow segments. I have been u...
Michael, Thank you very much for this dvd, this is exceptionnal, I just love it. When the next one? Sincerely, Bruno.
excellent....I enjoyed it and learned a lot. It was made very easy to understand. More like this please....
Great, but your tutorial chapters should be longer. Is little bit frustrating when after ( sometimes ) after 50s you see again label ( with macprovideo.com )
Hi there I found FCP6 101 a very useful resource. It addresses the majority of aspects anyone needs to know to get going with Final Cut. Michael explains the various aspects in a clear and concise way. He also provides a big picture view on why you should do a particular thing in a specific way to help you be more efficient in your editing. My little constructive feedback on the course targets 2 aspects. First, I would rather have seen a more tutorial-based approach towards the editing tec...
Great tutorial! I am not sure I could have learned so much just from a book. I learn by seeing and then doing, which is what this tutorial is. NICE! I wish there was a way to type in a subject and have it pop up in the correct part of the tutorial...that would be amazing!
I did not expect to get such a complete course for the price, what a wonderful surprise. And the download option was great and very convenient. I am sure I will be making future purchases.
Very pleased with the tutorial. It's a good way of education. Al the basics are explained. Icons, windows, workflow and so on. After you watched the tutorial, Final Cut works on the flow. I also watched the tutorial finalcut pro 5 102. A good point of this tutorial is the extra information such as video formats, the 0.9 tv pixels, and interlaced are very useful. For now I work with this basics, and wait for a tutorial with cool edit tips and tricks. Keep doing this nice work. H.Broers (Gotcha, t...
Ive not had a chance to watch all the tutorial but was a little dissapointed that there was no coverage of capture which now makes me have to buy the capture tutorial. I am sure this is good but do feel a little let down as i thought it should be covered in the core presentation. I like the tutors style and delivery.
Somehow a manual doesnt work for me. However your training video along with its downloading system and NED viewing system are excellent. I have both enjoyed the first viewing and later delighted in finding solutions to issues I was being slowed down with by dipping into the training. Thank you Michael Wohl and your team. I would recommend the Final Cut 6 101: video editing essentials.
No matter how proficient I get on a number of audio/video softwares, I'm always intimidated by that "first look" at a new one. FC is no exception. This video will take a lot of the intimidation out of getting started. Then you can keep going back to it and learn more and more in depth things. Great job as usual to the MacProVideo staff. I'm a Mac convert from about a year ago and you guys have really helped to make me feel that I made the right decision!
Your materials are very good, the videos are good, the only thing I could see adding is downloadable material (sample project files, and video clips to follow the lessons with)
I purchased the Apple Pro training book and will admit that it is very good. I learned a lot. That being said, I must say that this tutorial for FCP 6 taught me a lot more. I firmly believe that the ability to hear the Pro and watch the demo made the concepts much easier to grasp. I highly recommend this tutorial and this method of learning. Hearing, Seeing and being able to pause the lesson and try it myself has made a world of difference in my ability to grasp the different concepts...
Am a relative newcomer to MPV. Used STP and FCP so far. Both are very instructive and helpful to get to know rel. complex programs. Perhaps more detailed outlines and content description would help the selection of training sessions since very often one just needs help on very specific topics or tasks.
I had never used Final Cut Pro Studio 6 when I bought it. It was very overwhelming at first. The tutorial that came with it was not very helpful at all. They didn't explain things very well. After about 4 weeks I am able to do some Basic things on it, but not much more. I bought the 101 tutorial with Mr. Wohl and it has been very helpful. I am learning and navigating around a lot better in just hours after watching parts of the video. It is a very worth while investment. I would highly r...
I feel like I read the whole FCE manual in a couple of days. I'm no pro video editor and was looking to learn FCE for my home videos after using imovie for several years. Macprovideo taught me what I need to know in a very short time frame. Clearly it can't teach me how to edit my video for best effect, but it taught me how to use FCE in a fraction of the time it would have taken without it. Now I can use FCE as well as most and can concentrate fully on my editing skills knowing that I ...
Really Great. What amazing tools of learning. I always spread the good word of MPV & NED
I was a little septic of the purchase, because I'm so used to using the Apple Certified Books. But after the first viewing those books found there way into the closet.
I have been using FCP since version 3, just as a hobbyist. I own several other tutorials and I think this one is well done. Each explanation is short and to the point.
very good tutorial, would recommend it to anyone trying to get a grasp of the program. Now looking for something to take me a step beyond essentials.
Still watching the training. Just like learning Logic 7 & 8 from scratch, it's always complicated at the beginning. So far, trainer is very detailed and thourough.
The videos are extremely helpful. I have been a long time Final Cut user but never was completely comfortable with some of the procedures. The tutorial made clear some of the concepts where I needed help .
This was a competent and very helpful tutorial. I was up and editing in FCP almost imediately, but was also using the great insights into the bowels of the functionality of FCP. I feel like a capable FCP user now. (I have edited in several PC NLE's prior to getting my MAC.)
Fantastic tutorial! Love the downloadable format as well as the presentation style. Michael W. is an excellent teacher with a quick intuitive delivery. Thanks!
I thought I knew Final Cut pretty well. I thought this program would show me a few tricks here and there that might help me be a little more efficient. Now I know I was functioning at an incredibly basic level. And I've used this to edit movies and TV shows! I wish I had bought this as soon as I started learning Final Cut. Well worth the money.
I found this tutorial extremely informative and very well done. I picked up a great deal of information to make my workflow go smoother. Michael Wohl was easy to understand and has a good voice for this type of presentation. Thanks and keep up the great work.
I have known FCP for almost five years and after watching some demos, I decided to buy Final Cut Pro 6 101 tutorial from macProVideo.com. At first, I had some hesitation that it may not be worth the money, but after completing the tutorial, I was simply swept away. Honestly, I cannot think of any online tutorial better than this and for the amount of money I spent, it is worth each and every penny. In my opinion, mentioning about the money is quite disrespectful for the tutorial itself and all t...
The tutorial is easy to follow and understand. This is the most efficiency way to master a new editing software.
Fantastic tutorial. Very much straightforward, great tips and clear teaching. The quality of the audio and video is just great. I appreciate the red circle that drastically helps to follow the mouse pointer on the screen. Great idea! Really worth every penny spent in this tutorial.
I have already posted a review on how amazing the DVD training for Final Cut Pro 6 and Sountrack Pro 2 are. Today I'd like to tell everyone how fantastic the customer service is. Everytime I encounter a problem and send an e-mail, I quickly get a response from customer service and they never make it feel like you are disturbing them. They give you step by step instructions that always work. Thank you Gosia you deserve a grade of 200%. Anthony Teoli
After seeing the demo file I purchased the tutorial. I find it very helpfull and will purchase other tutorials Kind regards
I had three FCP DVD,s tutorial before I got this one, and let me tell you that it's the best.. "PLEASE DO MORE" and thank you for making it.
Mr. Wohl makes FCP look easy! He make me understand the simplicity of FCP.
After watching the Soundtrack Pro 101 training DVD, I started watching the Final Cut Pro 6 DVD. I still haven't finished but from what I saw so far, this DVD complements very well with the rest of the series. Michael Wohl is also an excellent teacher just like Martin Sitter. Please, please, please... create training for MOTION 3 and COLOR. You guys rock!!!!
thought it was great. entertaining, informative and am very pleased i bought your course rather than wading through the manual. i'm interested to see how many questions I will still have once I get deeper into teh editing proces but the layout of the course will definitely make it easy to go back and find items when I forget how to do something - so that is a big positive. when final cut studio 3 comes out can you do a course just on what's new? would definitely purchase that ervy time.
I really enjoy it. You are professionals and you think of your customers first, like i do and i'm looking forward to buy MOTION 3... Thanks for now... Andrea
Learning lots of new things here although been using for a while. I am looking forward to the more advanced stuff on the next two.
Over the years I had changed a number of times the video editing software I have used. From Adobe Premier, to Vegas and now to Final Cut. Learning the differences in the past has been sitting down with a book and reading through the pages and reviewing the included diagrams. This time around, I took a different approach and ordered several tutorials on using Final Cut. Video editing essentials is what I have been watching the past week. I like the format of the Video, that you have hav...
I've read lots of books and seen many video tutorials on FCP (congratulations on being on the the first to issue FCP 6) - but MacProVideo is simply the best. I will be using some segments with my students. Teaching is clear and takes you gently through the essential skills required.
