6 hours of assorted Logic Pro tips & tricks ... what could be better?
This tutorial is available through direct download only! This is a compilation of the first year of videos from our Logic TNT. Buy it now, and download the entire first year in 1 go! And don't forget, you can subscribe to the second year of the TNT videos here.
Produced by our star Logic trainer Steve Horelick, this series covers topics outside the scope of our other Logic tutorials. For example, you'll learn advanced environment tricks such as using arpeggiators & layering audio objects to create complex sounds. If you're a classically trained musician, there's an interesting section on using the Score editor to create lead sheets. If live instruments are your cup of tea, you'll love the section on creating groove templates. In fact, there's truly something for every Logic user in this 6 hour tutorial program.
It's a fact ... the TNTs are addictive! Once you get a taste of the TNT videos (Tips 'N Tricks videos), you'll find yourself wanting more ...

Reviews
These Logic TNT tutorials are very useful and provide lots of tricks that I can go and apply to my already existing projects as well as new ones. Simply put, I am much more able to realise my musical inspiration than I used to be. These techniques give artists alot of creative ammunition.
again i found this video very helpful and explained very clearly how to do things i had no idea about.i find your videos easy and clear to follow . keep doing them please
I'm just working on it at the moment. Very clear, it really helps me to go into Environment. I bought also the TNT 2 wich, at a first sight, seems to be excellent. Steve, Im a composer of contemporary music, whatever that means, very much interested in Algoritmic composition and interaction between structured and randomized parts. In environments I'm already doing very interesting things. I'd like to discover more. I know you work a lot with it so, please, go on, make even more. Thank you Rob...
These videos are invaluable to get you up and running fast! I really enjoyed the "workflow" type videos to show one how other producers actually use the program, one picks up a lot of tips this way...I know there's a couple of other one's to buy (electronica & R&B) but I'd like to see more from other producers in other styles ie rock, urban etc.
The tutorial is great.. Steve H is a brilliant tutor.. Humourous and extremely knowledgeable. This tutorial will make an indispensable reference tool for the future and provides real insight into the finer point or music production and mixing using Logic Studio
The TNT series are astonishing. There are so many little things in Logic 8 which makes working much easier but you might never find out by yourself. Thank's for the great work an keep the TNT series alive.
At times I felt like I wasn't getting much out of it but with a tutorial like this, it is as much a tutorial as it is advanced review. There were probably 10 or 12 expert tips that I implemented into my Logic setup right away. Everything else worked to reinforce but never bore. I'm definitely an advanced user and I learned brand new things, bottom line.
AMAZING!!! I need to get TNT2. This vid really brought out some sweeet features. I knew Logic was dope, but this is some geeky shiz!!! Again, more than helpful! Thank you macProvideo.
i have tryed every other brand of tutorials and you guys are the best that is why i have bought every thing you have got keep up the good work you guys have been the answers to my prayers
It's the little details that make all the difference in this tutorial. When things are hard to follow you can just review it until it makes sense. I'm looking forward to getting TNT2 in the near future. thanks.
You guys rock! thank you Martin and Steve what a gold min(d)of awesome tips and creative tricks.....Love TNT 1..thats why is signed up for TNT 2.End of story.
Useful as a sort of "dictionary". You face a problem and you search and get a guided advice. Easier than the manual
I was very impressed with the method Logic 303 was presented. The person doing each video was clear and concise in his presentation. Although I'm new to Logic 8, I felt very comfortable with the instructions given. It's clear to me that I will be purchasing other packages about Logic as I become more familiar with the program. The more I learn, the more questions I have. I'm sure from what I've seen that your group of instructors will be able to answer all my questions. A very nice job all arou...
I've been a Logic user for about 5 years. I use it in my job everyday. I mostly taught myself so I'm always interested in learning new things about Logic to help my work flow and open up creative flow. Anyway I'm excited about all the things I've learned by watching these tutorials. They've answered quite a few questions I've long had. but couldn't even find in the manual.
Very helpfull. Your own private lesson which you can play as much and at any time you want. This is its money more than worth.
This was very informative and enjoyable. I am looking forward to the next series.
fantastic tutorial. I wish you come out with more videos like that about mixing and mastering soft rock/ballads etc. you gays are the best
Simply incredible : So informative ! It shows hidden things in Logic going deeper in complexity always with simplicity. Am afraid to become addicted for the next saison ! Keep up the Great Work ! :)
Switching to Mac & Logic pro 8 (From PC & Logic 5.5) was a difficult decision. Mainly because I don't have the time for a long learning curve. Your tutorials helped me a lot especially Logic 303 . With in 2 days Logic 8 was up and running in the studio. ( Still learning but now I can take my time and check every chapter in detail. ) Great Work, Great Tutorial. !!! It would also be very nice if you continue with Logic 303 subscription for another year . George
Thanks for another wonderful learning experience using MacProVideo. You still can't beat these videos, believe me I have bought many different types of learning tools, but you guys by far, beat them all..! Looking forward to my next learning experience. user, Michael
Superb I hope there are plans to continue this series of tutorials which step us all up to the next level in logic, keep it up
i'd be interested to see some more stuff from the perspective of a rock band. editing live drums for example. what does logic have built in that might compare to beat detective? and what about sound replacing?
Occasionally I find it interesting but the depth is in general kind of lacking. I guess I realize that this isn't intended to be in depth overall for the program, but the content is often not terribly applicable to my project work. Production quality and delivery software is excellent though.
So many questions answered before I had the chance to ask them!
What can I say if you own logic, any logic program and don't have this. Well you have just put your self as a user behind the eight ball. You must have this I mean YOU MUST HAVE THIS. No one person can know everthing, you won't even relize what you don't know untill you watch these tips and tricks.
This is a great tutorial!, well articulated, the instructors have this great sense of humor that allow you to stay awake and to keep the interest in the tutorials, they do a great job explaining and making every subject fresh. This instructors are great pedagos!!!(teachers)..
Bravo ! Thanks
Love MacProVideo! Logic 303 TNT is very informative. You get to learn like it says "Tricks and Tips". These videos are very well structured and even dive into very advance features. What I like most about Logic 303 TNT is that it is a subscription and will continue to grow on a monthly basis. To me this is well worth the $50.
I have purchased several of your training videos - mainly for Logic and Reason. As a hobbyist these videos are well-organized, concise and enjoyable. If I were to offer one suggestion that would be to include more "live audio" beyond just vocals. Real guitars, drums, brass, etc. would lend itself to more interesting examples and mixes. Maybe I'm a bit old school but I'm not a big "looper" sort of musician. My 2 cents. Thank you!
I love these videos and my only complaint is hopefully Steve H. can produce more of them and quicker!!!!lol.......thats my only complaint.keep up the great work
Being a long time Logic Pro user, I nevertheless discover great features every month thanks to these videos!
the lessons are of a digestible length and move at good pace. the welcome screen is well set out and it easy to search for specific topics.
After purchasing tips and tricks 303, i realized users who are using the logic software to generate electronic music, will benefit most from its information. I tend to work with live sounds(rock bands), however, this tutorial proved invaluable in its ability to streamline my workflow. Logic has such a huge universe of possibilities, its a real help to have A SHERPA whose been to the top bottom and all sides between, this i feel makes it well worth the price.
Excellent. I'm along time DP user and before that a Bars & Pipes Professional user. (Amiga platform) I am use to DAWS and MIDI sequencing etc. I can figure out how to load tracks etc. from the manual "Tips & Tricks is perfect for me.
I really found tutarials very easy to use and extreamly educating .Bill Burgess and martiin sitter are very professional and good teachers I would like to see Tutarial on How to use loops ,trimming and making songs entire video.... Thank you
Another winner!!! Really great tips, I always put to good use! Keep up the good work.... Thanks!
The Tips & Tricks tutorial is an original way to learn Logic: I like the way, once a month, I get a new tutorial on a topic I might never have thought of. It's like a nice monthly surprise that forces me to think outside the box. I recommend it highly to advanced users
I love this Turorial. It is the largest, for Tipps & Trick´s for Logic gives.
Excellent a really useful tool however long you have been using Logic
I really enjoy this series of tutorials. I like the fact that they are released in installments and i look forward to them. Not every month is relevant to the way i work, but i'm happy with that, You never know when something i skim over now becomes the tip i need in the future. And some months are right up my alley in terms of how i work. Great little series
"Steve Your In Fine Form, I ViEWed your Last "January - Tutoria in Tips and Trick 303 - You always amaze me, and others!, how? you come up with things that have been talked about, but , Never SEEN ! Colour, Colour, Zoom'in and Zoom Back Again, so Vital but so "Over Looked" - Thanks from someone who had to Change."
the tutorials are extremely inspirational and enjoyable. the only problem i had was i was disappointed that there wasn't quite the 30 minutes per month as advertised, and a lot i had already watched as a demo for free.
Between the tutorials and the forum, I find the MacProVideo tutorials to be invaluable when it comes to wrapping my head around such an advanced music operating system as Logic Studio . Especially with so many mysterious rabbits' holes leading somehow toward wonderland if you can just solve the riddles. Conceptually, coming from the old school of recording and live performing - i couldn't grasp some of the larger concepts for electronic tempo based music recording - It seemed limke I was dyslexi...
What I have watched so far of Logic TNT is very good. I am a very experienced user (Logic owner since 1995) but I still get useful tricks from Steve & co. My only criticism would be that I expected more movies per month. For September, one can exclude the 2 Cameo folders as these were available for free download anyway. Same for October - only about 12 minutes of new material. I have posted a suggestion at the forums that certain presets and/or channel strips that are used by instructors c...
I think the tutorials are first rate. I like the slightly light-hearted approach and the summary at the end of each section. I hope the future tutorials will feature transformers and multi instruments as I am sure I could get more out of these features. They prove that seeing something done is a much better way of learning than reading a book!
I can not stress enough if any DVD that you need to get; this one, is a must! For these tips/tricks and insights are great material to lead a beginner / pro with areas of new interests/discoveries. Long time users would find a thing or two that they surely haven't realized with these invaluable lessons.Keep up the great work! - Steve. I look forward to seeing some more areas, such as the music notation capabilties of Logic further explored.
What a great way to get up to date tips for Logic! This really helps the ideas to keep flowing, increase creativity and learn more about how to use Logic along the way.
Spot on! As with all the macprovideo tutorials this is learning made easy and fun. keep up the great work. One request though- Martin's remix arrangement tutorial got me wanting to see a special on completing a whole track in logic. Maybe you could do this occasionally for different styles of music. Best regards guys and thanks
Just like the other Tutorials which I purchased this is well constructed...but I would like to see more emphasis on Notation in future tutorials. As in previous Manuals the writer assumes you know how,but you end up spending a lot of time working out'how'to do it when you should be creating. Keep those 'Tips and Tricks' coming.
That´s nice to, even if you purchased Mastering Logic 7. Thanks. Achim
Wonderful tips and inside tracks...I'm really becoming a power user now!!!! Thanks guys!!!
I must say that the tutorials were really interesting as i just have been using Logic for a couple of months. I learned stuff i didn't have a clue about which i'll definitely be using in the future. Little tips & tricks were really helpful and i'm sure it'll help my workflow in my forthcoming productions.
Very helpful for tips, tricks and in depth knowledge you might not run into if you do not read thousands of pages of manuals.
First of all, I am glad there is ANYTHING on Logic Studio. As we all know, the interface is entirely new, and that makes almost all previous tutorials almost worthless for the beginner. At the same time, I do wish there was a more concerted effort to connect with and integrate previous tutorials relating to prior versions of Logic. All in all, though, I am very pleased, and I look forward to your new material. Best wishes. GB
Hi, yes i see the first lessons on new L8. I love it very much. I wish it was in german to but i think it´s not possible. Like it very much. Disign is appealing. Best
Steve, Great tutorial! No bull, straight to the point, and most importantly no deviation from the segment title. We're all on a deadline these days, and for me pulling up your tutorial when there's a question, and within minutes having an answer is a gold mine. That's huge man! Oh yeah...keep Igor around if you could...we may be related somehow.
I really like the vids on the environment - apg-combinig synths-mapped inst. They have put my creativity on the next level. I don't have to open Live or Reason any longer. That's what im talkin about !! More vids on the environment pls.. & any other that will help maximize logic's plugins . Yes i own logic 202 but i want the Tips & Tricks to make my sound amazing !! thnx Jay
Very good, We need more for the score and environment, Can you make a tutorial for Max/msp?
For the uninitiated, like myself, Logic 303 introduces powerful concepts simply, opening up a world of possibilities for the sonic designer. It's up to you of course, to see how far the rabbit hole goes.
I started with Logic express 7 and played around with it for about a year, but found it to be a little different then Cakewalk Sonar, coming from the PC world to Apple, since I upgraded to Logic Pro 8, I wanted to really learn the program to the fullest capacity, and the best way is to have someone show you, you can stop the video and actually experiment with what you just learned. If you can't learn how to use Logic with these tutorials, then forget about it, this is the easiest and fastest way...
I have so far found all the videos to be excellent. Very clearly explained and easy to follow. Keep up the good work!
As with all the MacProVideo Logic videos, TnT is clear and to the point. The videos are well organised in terms of their titles and content - it's easy to find your way around and identify issues of interest. What I'd really like to see MacProvideo offer is a little more emphasis on traditional band recording - you know mixing, organising and editing the classic guitar, bass, drums setup. The electronic music bias is understandable (and it's usually easy to re-contextualise the info for ...
I like the tips and tricks because many times, although I knew Logic was capable of most of the tips already, I haven't always adopted them in my work flow, and this gives me more ideas on the possibilities in Logic. Logic is such a large program with so many ways to do things, and it is good to maximize its potential. Thanks for your great teaching! but what is this obsession with Igor?
Top job Steve & Martin. Just one criticism. I joined in October thinking I was getting only Logic 8 videos from October onwards but the subscription period is June 07 to June 08. You'll get Logic 7 material (though mainly still current) as well as Logic 8.
Found tutorial very helpful. Easy to follow, - especially for Silver Surfers like myself!
I've been using Logic for many years (decades actually, I started out with C-Lab Creator!). However I don't use it professionally. It's just my hobby. These Tips & Tricks tutorials just keep showing me things I never knew you could do in Logic. Or often, I thought there must be a way but never could find out how. Layering instruments in TNT was particularly enlightening. A really fantastic way to learn.
Super fantastic experience:) I'm gonna by alot more of thiese tutorials. specialy the logic pro ones and the finla cut studio ones. BUT I fell kind of bad for Igor... what's up with that? You bully :)
I am really enjoying the info in these tutorials, all delivered with humor and passion. I appreciate the directly applicable tips, and the rapid pace. If I need to slow things down to follow some menu sequences, I can just hit pause, rewind, and watch again. The N.E.D format is terrific. My only negative was that the first Tips in the current subscription were not Logic 8 specific, so it was challenging to follow along with any info presented using Logic 7. I look forward to the Logic 8 stuf...
Great!!! 5 stars without a doubt. I learned alot and im definetly going to keep on buying theyr tutorials.
Amazing. Nothing compares to how helpful these instructional videos have been to me. Recently I was faced with a very tight deadline on a project, in what I learned in just the few videos regarding Logic 8 I was able to optimize my time and be most efficient in my workflow. Very well worth the cost. Thanks so much!
Since I can write and speak only very little English, however all in English, I only fear this had to understand these Tutorials videos not. I can reconstruct almost everything in my Logic and understand my Logic after the Turorials substantially better. The Tips & Tricks and cheat are an enriching for me. I possess all Logic macProVideos (and more) and am simply only inspired and guard her like a treasure.
Looks good so far, but maybe a thematic presentation format (titles at left) would be better than the monthly presentation you have now. Content is very good, though!
Thank you (Mr) Martin (Sitter) for your e-mail. Well, there is not much to say, and this is just exactly because of the acknowledgement of extraordinary work. To me personal the video tutorial is superb. I am new to Logic 8 (I work with Digital Performer). I only wish Logic 8 would have been manufactured as clearly, logical and accurate as your tutorial videos are. My wish for a tutorial would be: Tempo finding in an Instrument-MIDI-Track (the counterpart to an audio track tempo finding)....
I know logic pretty well by now but there is always new angles to approach things and thats why I just love the tutorials from macProVideo.com. The way toy do somethings just mayb isn't the fastest and best way to do it. I've learned alot from this Logic 303 tutorial. Looking forward to more facinating Tips & Tricks. /Jimmy
As a rule I like your training. I'm an early adopter and I'm looking forward to more in-depth material for Logic Pro 8. In the past I've pruchased a numer of your programs and have found they add good supplemental value to the Apple training series books. Cheers, Robert
I had been wondering what TnT actually was. Then I finally subscribed. A nice collection that focuses on some some special things in Logic. It's great that you have this for us! Thanks, Dennis
MArtin, Always find out new things in every video, but sometimes its too brief, and scractches the surface. Having said that, I'm new to Logic and somewhat ignorant/thick in its workings, so this could be me rather than macpro. [I've also got the apple training book you wrote and that allows me to fill in some of the personal blanks I have.] Hope this is making sense. But I wouln't keep buying if I didn't think your videos are an excellent resource. I suspect that the more I understand logic, th...
The Tutorials are very informative, concise, and fun!!!........... keep up the good work........ ps......... the more videos on the score editor the better.............. Thx, GF
Spending years with Logic,I feel My life is easier after seeing your lessons. I´m spending more pleasant times with Music!(and Logic). For me it is very difficult to understand written manuals.Your accent is clear!.....There was that jump from LAW towards G5 and OS and 7...and so on....
I don't think i would be as inthusiastic about Mastering this very complex, yet elegant software if it were not for you guys! Tutorials are EXCELLENT! MORE,MORE MORE!......J
Thank you for the fast Logic Pro 8 info. I look forward to more. I haven't had time to look at the rest of the content, but it looks useful. Keep up the great work.
The instructional DVD was really good. I thought it was well put together and was easy to digest. I wish you would have a video which goes over only shortcuts on Logic 8 . since I work around shortcuts mostly. I was really pleased with the tutorial was very helpful thanks..
well, it s just great. very helpfull. steve allways sounds like he s talking about misterys and wonders. a little bit too much for my taste. but that s all i can criticize. i am looking forward for more good toutorials on logic 8.
Hi, The tutorial is excellent and easy to understand. The themes are very cool. I am expected to know what are the new to next month. One thing: maybye, some tutorials, like Mapped instruments, could take along more time, because these kinds of themes are much dificults than others. I think it is good idea,to add one ore two minuts more. I know you since 2 or 3 years ago, and I feel good, when I see that some purposes I told you, are reality know. Sorry about my English. See you!!.
These tutorials have been fantastic. I feel smart after I've finished a tutorial or two and I keep a journal and take notes as I watch. I also appreciate the search engine so when I need something specific, it's quick! The guys at mpv are also great at their customer service! They have a long-time customer! Thanks mpv Oh yeah, and the Tips & Tricks... fantastic! I love the advanced things (SOME though are reviews from the first videos but it never hurts to have some review - no to mention ...
I signed up for this series mainly to get a handle on what changes in Logic 8 to expect and how they migh affect my current methods techniques of working in Logic. And, at the price, it was well worht it for that alone. Amongst the 20-plus other videos I got in the first download, was a tutorial on arpeggiators. Fantastic! This was also worth the price of the series. I find there are other things I learn just by watching the videos that may not have anything to do directly with the topic of t...
Some great supplementary material to the regular Logic tutorials that takes you into some very inspiring advanced tutorials. I was very impressed to see how fast a really useful introduction to Logic 8 appeared.
I was working with Logic express and stumbled on macprovideo. Within a few hours I had ordered my upgrade to pro and the entire logic pro training series. These guys convinced me that this initially intimidating software was worth a little patience. Tips & Tricks is more than a few 'bolt-on' lessons. It's actually grown into a live newsletter in the form of training-especially relevant as Logic 8 is unleashed. Martin & Steve are discovering and sharing their excitement with you in front of your ...
Finding it very useful.looking forward to getting into logic pro 8. many thanks and keep up the good work pete
I have to call this September The Great September. Logic 8 is out and I do have it since a day... lol After viewing the September TNT I was able to understand very quickly what the new Logic Pro can do and I feel very comfortable with it. I use MVP tutorials for more than a year now and I feel like I own Steve and Martin sooo much. I would not be able to do so much with Logic with out your tutorials. What’s more important that the company takes it very personal. Something very unusual ...
You have done a great job at MacProVideo with the tutorials. The latest Logic 303: Tips and Tricks is wonderful. The possibility to download and have access to the very useful information and classes right away is great! On the other hand, I also must say that your customer service is very good. I have been a client of yours for a while now and whenever I have had a problem or question you always respond and resolve the issue promptly. (Gosia is very effective, like everybody else at your comp...
I have found Mr.Horlick,s personality, his non acerbic, sans condescending teaching method to be most refreshing. This alone makes the lessons/ concepts very easy to grasp and understand. That makes his lessons more valuable than they first appear. Worth every cent!
Great project Tim. Some very helpful tricks in mastering Logic. You are very good teacher. It would be nice to have some advanced session on production tricks such as using buses (i.e. mixing the kick and bass through a bus) to improve the sound, using aux channels, tasteful use of plug ins (i.e world beyond the presets), cool tricks for MIDI and plug in to make the "million dollar sound." It would also be cool to devote a session to different instruments, both soft synth and audio track...
Hello All! Thank you !!! For putting a great set of DVD's that help shed light on Logic Pro/Express. I find the information extremely valuable, especially when you look at the 1000 pages if Logic Reading. I am really still going through the dvd's thoroughly and have note been through as much material I would like to, but overall at this point was especially pleased with Matin and Steve work. Something that I still have trouble with is an area as a beginner is the hooking up my: t.c elec...
Very good. I would like to see future tutorials delve into how an advanced user constructs a song from beginning to end - not just a sample song, but one o their own compositions.
Really good and easy to understand way of learning new tricks and tips that you would never know existed without this tutorial. The use of video is a much more convenient and efficient way of learning which is so much easier than struggling through the reference manual which accompanies Logic. I find I am looking forward to the next month update as soon as I have finished the current month.
All MacProVideos have been helpful to me.I buy them because I have a lot to gain from them
Hello Martin,Steve H. (and Igor!), Glad to hear you've hit another home run with Logic 303 TNT. Count me among the legions of satisfied customers/subscribers. While I dutifully toil away on my next pop masterpiece, I wait in anticipation of the next months release. My only complaint (and this is only because I am such a good customer :) ) is that Steve H.'s arpeggiator tutorial very closely mirrored Martin's from Logic 105: Logic's Environment Explored. However, I wasn't taking full advantage...
Great work. Please keep them coming. My only complaint is that LogicPro has menus hidden everywhere for everything, and sometimes it's difficult to remember where a particular command lives. Perhaps a bit of summary review of the names of the commands used at the end of each tutorial would be helpful.
I like the tutorials very much. It's a great way to learn Logic Pro. I hope a tutorial on WaveBurner will be included. It's an important piece of software and there are very few places to find out about it on the web. Keep up the great work! Eddie
This is a terrific idea - a living subcription, if you will, and at the very least the price for entry keeps the group to those are committed to making things better, not just armchair critics. I like the idea of a pool of wisdom that grows over time, together.
So far I've only been able to check the TNT of June, & I must admit the June tutorials are very very good... Not much else to say... I hope the following tutorials are as good as these ones... Keep up the good work!!!!
So far, so good. I had fun playing with the arpeggiator in the August update.
It is an excellent series. It is delivered to just the right level of expertise for me.
As always I find your Logic training videos enlightening in a way that both a master and a novice can appreciate-though I would very much like a step by step tutorial on how to get that amazing guitar sound on the first tips & tricks tutorial(am I doing something wrong?). I would also really appreciate some info on how to build and use a step sequencer inside the environment-I look forward to future lessons that might address these issues.Anyway, to all the team at macprovideo, I want to say a ...
Great idea behind these tutorials! Thanks Steve! I have found the June edition to be really useful and the July edition very informative - although I rarely use the score editor i can appreciate it's value. I hope the future tutorials focus on more creative environment mangling tips. Great so far :-)
Fantastic Idea to release every month a new short video with tips & tricks. A very good training idea. Thanks a lot. Achim
I've bought, downloaded and loved every available Logic tutorial produced by MacProVideo.com so far, so when the Tips'n'Tricks started, there was no question that I would subscribe. The first installment is brilliant, and I can hardly wait for more. Just one thing... the presenter (can't remember his name)... is he recording these with a family asleep in the next room? He speaks so softly I'm resisting the urge to fall into a deep sleep!
In my opinion, this is a must have for any serious Logic user. I just downloaded the first volume, and it is fantastic. In about 20 minutes, I learned a lot of new tricks and relearned a lot of stuff I knew but had forgotten. It is both educational and entertaining.
