Excellent. As a long time Finale user, this was perfect to get me quickly up and running on Sibelius.
At first being as anxious as I am to learn how to fully utilize Sibelius, I thought that some of the way that the DVD lessons were presented were exactly like the tutorials that come with Sibelius. I could not have been more wrong. This tutorial has so many layers that unravels and dissecting Sibelius while explaining in great detail of the many capabilities of this notation software. This is exactly what I have been looking for and needed.I have seen the courses offered by Sibelius as well as through colleges such as my alma mater Berklee, and i don't think anyone can do wrong in getting this tutorial. I do wish that it could be viewed away from the computer, but that is very minor to me. I am looking forward to Sibelius 5 102...I'm ready for the next phase.
All your Videos are very helpful and fun to use ( I have many), I recomend them to everybody. They are so much better than using a book, and because they are n my laptop they are easier to cary around. Thankyou, you are fantastic!
Working in Finale for more than a decade, I've welcome this tutorial with great joy. I wonder how Sibelius really works and find it's also a great working tool for notation. Gary made a fantastic job on this. Some mates that are more familiar with the program would like to see more, but they also have to realize that Sibelius is a World pre se and this is an introduction to beginners, the time spent on those details such as key commands will be a great plus for someone that is just starting. Also, there will be more to come, Gary already, showed us some features on upcoming Sibelius tutorials. For me, I would buy them, who knows I may need them in a future. Atkins, really nice work mate! Jorge Costa
Hey, not bad. I've used Sibelius for a number of years but I do like to know if there are any other tricks out there I don't know about. Gary does a good job explaining things. I haven't check out the entire as of yet but from what I have seen he is very clear and easy to understand. (Time for a Power Users video) Keep making great videos!
The tutorial serves as a great quickstart for Sibelius. As an introduction to the application, it spends quite a bit of time on features and commands that some might find intuitive. Regardless, there is still a great deal to learn for users that have been fiddling with Sibelius for some time and waiting for the "coin to drop." I, too, look forward to future intermediate level additions by the same instructor.
Gary Atkins has made the process of learning Sibelius very intuitive and understandable. He has also shown function of the programs that are not easily understood from reading the manual. This video has been of great help to me in getting my music finished and has saved me so much time in the process.
First I want to say that I was pleasantly surprised to see Sibelius offered from MacProAudio. I am fairly new to Sibelius and am currently about 3/4's through the lessons. I think the lessons are good and hope the intermediate/advanced lessons will be forth coming soon!
The tutorial method used in this video is based upon strong educational/learning principles. It is beautifully done with superb timing, careful progression through what would otherwise be difficult steps, sensitivity to those who may not be as knowledgeable in music as one would expect, and terrific on screen graphics to demonstrate each step needed to get the best out of Sibelius. My background is in education, learning and development as well as music and audio engineering and I must say that the approach taken in the design and delivery of this tutorial is top quality. Well done guys!
This is an excellent series of Tuition Videos. Probably the best that I have seen. Anyone could learn Sibelius from Core Sibelius. Well done to Gary Atkins.
Excellent tutorial! A lot of good tips and tricks. Very clear. Waiting for level 2. Thanks Gary!
