Great tutorial! I needed to sweeten a series of training videos (especially air conditioning noise) and my options were to read the manual (on my computer since it's only a PDF) or spend 4 hours listening to Martin . . . I wisely chose to buy the tutorial. It addressed my particular issue, and it made a huge difference in the final audio quality of the programs. I completely agree with Micheil Reid's comment (Aug31,08). There is no mention of using STP with video! After looking through the content list of the tutorial I thought the sections would be related to video stuff but there seems to be an emphasis on music. Martin even calls the dialogue in a video clip, at one point , "vocals". It seems to me this tutorial is incomplete - also picked up by Micheil Reid. I would like to congratulate Mr. Sitter for an excellent video tutorial in keeping with the level of an excellent teaching guide. I tried out this tutorial based primarily after using and adapting the Soundtrack Pro 2 book in the Apple Pro Training Series for the classroom, in hopes that it too would be beneficial, and it is. Thanks for making an excellent tutorial as well as authoring the book in the pro series. Very nice!

Very good! Especially since Martin Sitter does not only explain the program - but also has lots of interesting sidenotes about Electronic music, audio data in general and more. The only thing that is not being explained thoroughly is the usage of STP for video dubbing, which is not relevant for me but might be for Final Cut Pro-Users.

I love the detail and the fact that it's broken into many short duration bits so one can review just what one needs to. You need to produce one on using Mix features, Editing, working with and Locking to Video. Way too much time goes by for additional tutorials on a subject to come out. In the words of Oliver Twist, "Please, sir, I want some more."

Despite the missing tutorial on Video ..the content so far is good, with plenty of info to dwell upon. The only issue I have so far is the fact that you refer to FCP only and not IMovie or FC Exp. However you do a good job. Geoff

I tough Soundtrack Pro 101 was a very good tutorial. I'm vision impaired and found the high definition videos very useful as it makes it easy to see what's going on! My only complaint is that thee was pretty mush nothing said abut syncing audio and video clips. However if I'd not got this video I would have had great difficulty in figuring out how to use it. Logic Pro seems more intuitive to me. Thanks for the sterling effort you put into your videos. The time and patience that goes into them is...

The following are my comment: 1) The ending of this training seems abrupt. The last topic is "Analyzing Audio clip" and it has ended just that. There is no conclusion to the training, no information on conforming the audio back to FCP etc. Felt unhappy with the way the training has ended. 2) Soundtrack Pro, as mentioned in the video too, is specifically designed for editing and enhancing the audio component of a video clip. Hello, This was a great tutorial for Soudtrack Pro. It gave me a good understanding of what Soundtrack Pro is capable of. However, when Martin mentioned this tutorial in his Logic 8 101 video, I assumed that it would be more about using STP as a utility for Logic. Part 2 of the tutorial was most relevant for me because I wanted to learn how to clean up my audio files. All in all, this was a good tutorial, thanks.

I find the training easy to follow and thorough. Martin really knows his stuff! I've also learned Logic on one of his training videos and it is also great! I recommend his training to anyone.

Exactly want I looked for – short and sweet, a very good introduction into better sound handling for an FCP user like me, who knows about the important role of sound in movies but had no code of practice in managing and improving it. Now I have!

Martin Sitter is the best video trainer there is for Logic and Soundtrack. The man just knows how to make you understand your software, while at the same time keeping you interested and awake. Even if you think you know how to use Logic or Soundtrack, I guarantee you he will show you things you didn't know were possible.

I believe this product should have a disclaimer saying that it's "for beginners" who are "beginning to learn" about digital music. I guess I should have assumed that from the title "SoundtrackPro 101" Having used ProTools, DP, & GarageBand already, I was hoping to learn the SoundtrackPro program as quickly as possible for working with FCP and other audio enhancing. Generally really good. too much time was spent on writing electronica loops for my taste (especially since that's not what the software is designed for). and the tone of the instructor is a bit too chipper and intense to listen to for very long. Otherwise it's casual, but smart and well organized.

I have purchased a number of your tutorials and find them absolutely wonderful. They are full of simple tips and shortcuts that make editing fun again. I especially like the way that chapters are arranged so I can quickly "brush up" on a topic. My only complaint is that you don't have tutorials on all the software that I want . . . ex. Motion 3 and After Effects CS3. However, what offerings you do have, are the best in the industry.

Great basic tutorial of Soundtrack Pro 2. Would have liked to have seen more content geared around film post audio work. Overall very informative and good primer for Soundtrack Pro 2.

We needed "quick-start" training that would get us up and running with Soundtrack Pro 2. This program accomplished that. Looking forward to the sequel in the hopes that it will go into depth with the "audio for video" roundtripping relative to Final Cut Pro.

I really enjoyed Soundtrack Pro 101. The ideas are clearly laid out and well presented. I believe that it would improve the learning experience if the intro screens at the beginning of each section were on the screen for about half the time that they currently are. Their constant appearance every couple of minutes gets a little tedious. All in all though, the course is really well done. Cheers!!!

I'm one of those stubborn individuals who think they can figure out a program without any assistance. Yeah, right. IF I had gotten this sooner I would have (a) not made any of the frustrating mistakes that led me to getting it, and (b) I would have been be using STP much more effectively than stumbling around asking mundane questions on forums. In depth,easy to understand,and an all around great way to get into soundtrack Pro.All of the Mac Pro Videos that I own are A+ training.The way that they are presented,and the level of professionalism in these videos is second to none in my opinion.

great site, easy to purchase and download, easy to follow tutorial, loved the NED application also, learnt a lot, would benefit from learning how to export as use this a lot and seems quite complex in soundtrack pro 2, is there an advanced level program?

It was a very good tutorial, except you're going over things in audio that are pretty basic. Now that it's a part of Logic Studio, you'll have people (like me) watching this who have been using pro audio applications for some time. You may want to have an advanced course for such people. For instance, I would have liked to see more about syncing audio with video, AAF/OMF support, etc.

Excellent tutorials. Well paced and clear explanations. Told me what I needed to know to get up and running. A bit more on interaction with FCP would be nice, but overall I was happy with this purchase.

Very well presented training. I was familiar with Soundtrack and was hoping for 5.1 sound training which was excluded from this tutorial. Other than that very good.

It´s perfect. Martin, the speaker not only rules as an entertainer, he also guides us step by step through the programm, includes the best and most important key commands and all in all seems to be a nice guy. You just enjoy listening to him. So taking this tutorial is more like meeting a friend and chatting about the software than learning it. And that is the best way to study something. I highly recommend this tutorial. I learned something new with every video although I have been working with...

I really appreciated that MacProVideo has released such a thorough training for Soundtrack Pro 2. I was very familiar version 1, but in Final Cut Studio 2 it's obvious that the application has been made more robust. Totally new layout and tools to learn how to use. Your 101 training for Mastering Soundtrack Pro 2 was welcomed and much needed when there was no training available after I upgraded from Final Cut Studio 1. I hope that there will be more advanced training releases on this appli...

Soundtrack Pro 101 is superbly presented and interjects some good sound theory concepts where appropriate. Martin really presents this well and his lessons are informative, to the point, and interesting. I highly recommend this tutorial to anyone who will be using Soundtrack Pro. The noise reduction chapters were worth the price alone imho.

Soundtrack Pro 101 is an amazing DVD. Martin is an excellent teacher and gets right to the point. Please make DVD training also for Motion 3 and the new COLOR software bundled with the Final Cut Studio 2 Suite. I need to learn them as well. Thank you.
