Though I've been doing video for over a decade, I believe this is rather superb. I read the other folk's comments -- however I believe they miss the point: the title of the course includes the word: FUNDAMENTALS. Yes, I would have liked some diagrams & pictures, but that's not the scope of the course. I care more about what is LEARNED (and retained) rather than "is it for MacproVideo". Larry not only is organized and presents well, but also DEMONSTRATES what he talks about (i.e.: lighting), dress, composure, demeanor, and communications --- besides just being "likable" in contrast to Lurch with that "fahunny farren ahkcent". Larry is definitely a Grand Master in his field and shows it.

This video really didn't feel like a regular Mac Pro Video tutorial. It didn't have the same depth of exploration as other videos have had. They spend no effort in trying to actually teach the material but rather focus on "quick tips" for maximising profitable video output. To be honest it felt like an infomercial. If you're reading this, please do not judge the merits of this website based on this video.

I haven't yet noticed that MacProVideo re-distributes videos of other websites as their trainings. Looking closely you can tell that this series was not really produced for MacProVideo. It's not the didactic quality I came to expect from the Logic and Compressor tutorials I bought here. This series just gives you a quick and very high level rundown of what you need to produce good looking videos. You just get tips such as "use a main light and a fill light" or a quick explanation what progressive and interlaced means. You hardly see any samples how you really should position your lights and how the resulting images look like if you do it this or another way so you could learn from the examples. In other tutorials I bought the trainers put a lot of effort into showing what happens if you turn this knob or how a video looks if you compress it with codec 1 or codec 2. So in the end, there are many high level quick tips what not to forget when creating HD videos (lighting, reflectors, there are different compression formats), but on the other hand, you don't really learn HOW to do it.

This video was also good. I am just upset that he only has two video tutorials for me to watch.
