Calling all Cubase users: Cubase 7 is here, and Matt Hepworth, our in-house Cubase expert has been hard at work exploring every line of code! Master all the powerful new features in this new and powerful version of this popular DAW...
Cubase 7, with its new look and tons of new and powerful features, is truly revolutionary. That’s why we brought in Steinberg Product Specialist, Matthew Hepworth, to create this 53-tutorial exploration. Learn how you can collaborate with other musicians from across town or across the globe with VST Connect. This feature lets you set up and produce a live, synched session online! Cubase 7's new mixer, the MixConsole, has also been completely redesigned. Routing your signal and accessing your plug-ins has never been more intuitive and elegant. Matthew also explores all the great new effects, Chord Track and Hermode tuning and shows how you can apply these cool features to your projects.
But that’s just the beginning: There is much more to discover. So make yourself comfortable and join Matt Hepworth in this tour de force of a course, Moving Forward with Cubase 7.
- Cubase 7 101: Moving Forward with Cubase 7
- Cubase 7 102: Songwriters/Musicians Toolbox

Very useful course, it's what you are looking for, but maybe sometimes it can be unnecessarily repetitive.
This is the first course I watched on macProVideo and I must say that the quality of content and the presentation were both outstanding. Very informative, and exactly what I was looking for. My sincere appreciation to the author for a highly professional job. Well done.
Helpful and forward.... Mr. Hepworth is my favorite teacher.
With every new release there are so many new features in Cubase. This is the quickest and best way to learn them.
Another great course by Matthew! I am learning a lot! I hope he will come back and do tutorials on mixing and in depth use of Cubase plugins.
Very good tutorial that goes very in depth. Wish it where moving a little faster, but overall very good.
You guys have done an amazing job I use Cubase on both Mac & Pc platforms never once did i feel like i had to read between the lines as previously said, I'm quite an experienced Cubase user but this has given a few time saving tips!
An excellent overview of Cubase 7, particularly helpful for those with experience of the previous versions of Cubase.
I give 5 stars for content but 3.5 for leaving PC users out in the cold. Clearly this is meant for Mac users although a few references to Windows are used. Although the racks, mixers, etc., look the same on each OS, menus are very different. There is a lot of reading between the lines needed which shouldn't happen with a paid for tutorial. Yet, I learned a lot but grew tired of guessing
Great course helps me to understand a lot more on Cubase new features.
This Tutorial will make me "get to work" with Cubase 7 much sooner. I think I got the overall idea of the news, thanks Matthew!
The Cubase 7 tutorial is excellent .The imformation is given in a direct easy to understand manner .I also like that the lessons on average just a few min. of digestable chunks .You can do as much or as little as time permits .
Good starting point to Cubase 7, when the basic concept of a DAW is already somewhat clear. I enjoyed watching the tutorials, thanks!
Excellent tutorial. One of the best.
Hi Great tutorial, I last used Cubase years ago and I found it so hard i gave up. This tutorial makes it easy to understand Cubase 7 keep them coming. John
This is a very clear presentation. I found it very helpful.
I love this course. It's the main reason I continue to upgrade Cubase. every question is answered thoroughly and the tutorials are short and to the point. Matt is a fantastic instructor as his enthusiasm for Cubase constantly comes through. This is great reference for tools I don't use regularly because they are easy to locate.
So happy to be brought up to speed with my update so quickly! Great work!!
Hi Matthew, I really like your tutorials. Thanks so much for making these. It makes learning Cubase so much easier.
Excellent tutorial. I can recommend it without hesitation. I teach at the university level and I consider this tutorial to be on a par with the best courses that I our my collegues have put together.
These videos are mostly a good introduction to the new features of Cubase 7, although a few, especially the last two and a lot of the introductory section, seemed to be stating the obvious. My only real complaint is the NED player, which is terrible. It usually cuts out before the end of the video and after a few uses stops working completely, needing to be reinstalled to get it working again. I know this is primarily a Mac site but it does claim to cater for PC users also, and the ability to view the tutorials offline is an important feature for me. Although the quality of the tutorials is fine for an introduction, I dont think I'd buy any more from this company unless they fixed this awful video player or just made the material available in a standard format.
Excellent video and coverage of topics was right on. I especially enjoyed the recording sessions demonstrating all the new features of Cubase 7 compared to 6.5. Matthew is an excellent instructor and I will be looking for further tutorials by him.
Really like the friendly tone of these videos, excellent coverage too.
I like the way videos are laid out and in short sessions so one can review fast what they are looking for also clear voice on these are wonderful, no noise in background or loud music while speaker is speaking. one of the best to me I would purchase any other for Cubase 7 if they come out with advance videos
Really thoroughly enjoyed the review, and the bits and pieces of humour thrown in there helps the whole vibe of the review. Would love more cubase 7 tutorial videos from Matthew for sure. Only recommendation would be, videos with only 1-2mins of playing time is a drag, and I think it is better to have them joined with other sections, so that it feels like a solid chunk, rather than just an extra which literally it is not. Great work macprovideos.
Amazing tutorial. Matthew's Cubase tutorials make diving into the new features much less daunting.
Excellent Course. I was up and running with the new Cubase 7 in no Time. Love all of your Cubase Courses
I was up to speed with Cubase 7 in no time. If you've come to learn Cubase then you're in luck as Matthew is a fantastic teacher.
Just fantastic, even if I'm a new player with Cubase, Matthew is a so great teacher for me.
Great tutorial!! Cubase is easier with Matthew!
Excellent overview showcasing the reasons why upgrading to Cubase 7 is a no-brainer!
simply the best, however doesn't rate just a 5. It should be a 10
Great job, as usual, from Matt Hepworth. I have ordered Cubase 7 but not received it yet and this tutorial is allowing me to get up to speed with all the new features even before I have the new product installed.
I have enjoyed every tutorial I have purchased from you. Matthew Loel T. Hepworth does a great job of imparting his valuable knowledge in a casual but efficient manner. If I had one "issue," it would be with your pricing. Since I am only interested in your Cubase related material, I have not been able to take advantage of your "bundle" pricing, with the exception of my first purchase, two or more years ago. Since then, I have had to pay full price for each additional video (I buy them each, as soon as I learn of their release). Would it make sense for you to offer an "upgrade" price to those of us who have purchased videos from you in the past, relating to an earlier version of the same software? For example, if you can see that I have purchased the entire "Cubase 6" tutorial library, shouldn't I receive some sort of discount on Cubase 7 material? The software companies, of course, already provide discounts and other incentives for repeat customers. Why don't you? Also, it would be nice to have a perspective other than Matt's, from time to time. I work in the Classical music field. While I am able to apply Matt's wisdom to most of what I do, it would be nice to hear from someone outside of the pop/rock/jazz genre. Food for thought, I hope. Otherwise, keep up the great work! Jonathan
If you love Cubase as I do. You will embrace the new enhancements within the DAW. Check out the tutorial by my mentor Matthew L.T. Hepworth, he cuts to the chase and teaches you about the new features Steinberg has created to make the work flow easier, faster and fun. With Cubase 7 other DAW's become third and forth place. Cubase 7 is 1st and 2nd with out question. Better workflow, enhanced VST's and EQ settings, and most of all better CPU utilization. Watch, listen and learn!!! tmwise-Cubase lover!!!!
Fantastic, simply fantastic!
Matthew is probably the best video tutor i have had the pleasure to watch. very clear and easy to understand. he leaves no stone un-turned. The new Cubase 7 101 video is brilliant, using comparisons between 6.5 and the new features in Cubase 7. well done Matt on the delivery & MPV for delivering so quickly on release day.
