I have read many articles and watched a few videos about mastering but they did not give me much more than a grasp of the basic concepts. I have read the classic 'Mastering Audio' by Bob Katz which is a great on theory but sketchy on the practicalities. 'Mastering in Pro Tools' is an amazing opportunity to watch an expert at work, to understand how he evaluates the mix and to learn how he applies eq and compression to address problem areas. I have not seen this depth of knowledge revealed anywhere else. The principles and techniques are applicable to all platforms. Essential viewing to anyone interested in mastering.

what a fantastic tutorial, well worth the money. I have been recording audio for the last 30 years and there was so much information that I had forgotten, especially the EQ and dynamics it is worth more than the price which is little more than a new set of guitar strings. Thank you

I can't say enough good things about this tutorial. I have watched most of the audio tutorials on MPV, and in my opinion, this is the best. Though Phil uses Pro Tools, and concentrates on the Mastering process, this tutorial isn't limited to Mastering In Pro Tools. Throughout the tutorial Phil passes on valuable information that is applicable to a user of any DAW involved in recording, mixing, or mastering. In particular, Phil pulls back the curtain on the art of EQ and dynamics revealing tips and tricks everyone should know. If you are involved in audio, this really is one video you shouldn't miss.

This is one of the tutorials that I was waiting for! Finally a tut that goes indepth of the 'dark art' of mastering. A bit of a warning. After whatching this you are probably going to buy new third party plugins! :)
