Do you play Live? Then you must play Push! Join Ableton Certified trainer Noah Pred as he demystifies every inch of this groundbreaking instrument from Ableton...
Push is a new kind of music instrument—and it’s designed to work exclusively with Ableton Live. You can make beats, powerful chords and expansive melodies without ever looking at Live. It’s got a massively powerful grid of touch sensitive pads that are completely adaptive to the kind of musical ideas you want to express. It also has controls, a touch strip and other interactive switches that allow you interact with Live without ever touching a mouse.
In this course, Ableton expert Noah Pred shows you everything you need to know to get you up and running with Push! You learn its interface. You see how to reconfigure Push’s touch pads. Most of all, you see how this instrument can take you to musical places that, until Push, you couldn't get to before using standard, off-the-shelf controllers. That’s the power of a custom instrument like Push!
So if you’re thinking about performing and producing with Push, or if you’ve already taken delivery of this amazing instrument, then you’ve got to sit back and absorb every frame of this introductory course.
And be sure to check out all of our Live and Push courses as we continue to build the most comprehensive Ableton course library on the planet!

This was awesome. I was so confused about Push when I bought it but the first thing I did before touching a button was start this tut. I was able to jump right in and make a full track along with him. I think I've got it.....just gotta get quick now!
Very inspiring course. Maybe the tempo of the course could have been little bit slower...
This is an excellent tutorial to get you up and running quickly with Push. It shows just how quickly you can start putting a track together with the Ableton - Push combo. Noah's delivery is enjoyable, and I really dug this and his other tutorials as well. I recommend this if you are starting out with Push.
Noah is a great instructor. Fun to follow, has a good sense of humour, and knows Ableton Live inside and out. Good flow to this course, starting with the basics and building up to more advanced skills, finally putting together an arrangement at the end. Had a couple questions though, thinking that Ableton may have updated the Push in some small ways since the video was recorded, and it'd be handy if there were notes about any of these minor changes. But overall, great tutorial. Thanks!
After seeing an excellent demonstration of Push by TecBeatz at SXSW, and spending an hour or so with it myself I made the leap and added Push to my production arsenal. This video aided me in getting up and running and productive with Push. Noah Pred was excellent and clear with his presentation of the material. As a beginner with Push this video went at a great pace and there was no information overload. EXCELLENT!!!
Again a very easy to follow and intuative course . Noah has a great delivery style . I learned a lot from this and am now addicted to Push .... Thanks Noah .
Very basic but good if you want to get started with push. Very easy to follow along.
Great tutorial, can't wait to start using Push! Haven't got one yet, but it definitely convinced me to get one ASAP. It's a must watch for Live.
A nice all-round beginner's course on Push. Should get you up and running with both aspects of the machinery - i.e. as an instrument to be played live and as a recording tool. Bring on the next lvl!
Thanks a ton for the support. Its very clear and each function is clearly explained.
Excellent class. Thank you. This was a great overview of the form and function of Push. It was accessible, informative, thorough and nicely done.
Great course, the audio was very quiet it was hard to hear what he was adjusting. Had it cranked up all the way. Luckily I could reenact it on my push.
Easy to follow introduction to all the basics of Push, thanks Noah
Good overview with a evolutionary music project, covering almost all areas of Push. Unfortunately there were some areas where the tutor seems to have had a "learning by doing" approach.
Loved it!!!!!, well explained nice short modules so no over load on info.
Brilliant set of videos goes through everything that push does. Mines just arrived and i feel like i can handle it already!! Nice one Noah!!
Good course, I am up to speed now on the push. This is intro only and I am glad they have the jordan rudess tutorial next!
essential for someone like me who needs as much variety in learning new ways to expand my ableton knowhow He goes from start to finish and leaves no stone unturned to explore each of PUSH's parameters
Great work, got me up and running in no time!! Covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time and was fairly thorough!
Good guide overall, especially for beginners. However, it would have been nice if Noah could verbally explain the words that have been displayed as subtiltes, since I usually just listened to what he said during the tutorial.
Nice, no-bs intro to Push. Noah covers all the main functions swiftly to get you up an running on Push quick... ...although I did find myself getting carried away and making my own tracks instead of following the tutorials! It would have been nice if Noah had imparted some more personal workflow tips and advice beyond just explaining the functions of each button - but perhaps that was beyond the scope of this tutorial?
Tutorial was great for beginning Push'ers! Noah gets to the point..
Step-by-step with Push - good deep explanation of the wide variety of controls, modes, excellent demos of how to build tracks, add fx and build arrangements from scratch without the computer.
This video has my gears turning @ 140bpm no question about it. PUSH has definitely been designed so musicians can take their creativity from the studio to the stage and vice versa. Great course Noah!
