This is an excellent tutorial that will get you up and running with Ultrabeat in no time. It helps explain things that the Logic manual only touches upon or not at all. I recommend it highly for those who want to create realistic drum sequences.

Steve H, what can I say? I have been to college and paid big bucks to learn more about audio production. I wish I had saved my money and downloaded your tutorials earlier. Steve explains very complicated concepts very carefully in easily digestible language. I absorb the know how very quickly and enjoy the learning process. Cant think of critical feedback because these videos already go way beyond my expectations. Also very affordable.

I have found all of the tutorials I have used so far to be incredibly useful. What has appealed to me the most, as opposed to working my way through 900-odd pages of PDF, is the following: 1) even if there is only one useful tip in each two minute video, that tip makes a huge difference to the way I can operate the programme 2) most video clips contain a great deal of info, that I would never think to seek out otherwise 3) each tutorial is in order! They follow pretty closely along a real life timeline of starting with zero, then having a finished end result. And they seem to match up fairly accurately with what I want to know at the time, too. I like the fact that the tutors have taken the time to each produce a polished piece of work, that shows not only how each program works, but also shows their depth of knowledge (and personality too). I have two suggestions: The NED Library section shows all of the tutorials I have purchased. When I click on one, especially one with a large number of tutorials (eg logic 8 101), i kind of wish the other tutorials would disappear, so I can view all the chapters of one tutorial at the same time, without having to scroll up and down. Also, I was wondering if there was a way that NED could change the colour of the text, or highlight the text, of the tutorials I have already watched? Or maybe a star or similar icon next to the unwatched tutorials, that disappears once they've been viewed for the first time? These are both so minor details but I would hate to discover a year down the track that I missed a great tip because I thought I'd already watched a tutorial. I love using Logic, and all the more so as a result of your training, so thanks very much!

the tutorial really got me started. Having a hard time to break loose from ultrabeat and get back to the whole programme!

I'm an old fashioned musician, just listen and hit the keys, even though I've about 30 years experience with computers. So I did not want to take the time to figure out ultrabeat by trial and error. The tutorial was very helpful and made up for what was lacking in Logic manuals and my own instincts. A few questions were left unanswered, but it gave me a great start on what otherwise would have been a much longer learning curve. Worth it for me, will consider other tutorials.

I really liked Ultrabeat Unleashed. It answered nearly all of my questions about Ultrabeat. I am new to drum machines and the tutorial was basic enough to geet me started. As I improve and go back to the tutorial I find it still useful.

The class was perfectly detailed in the functions and capabilities of Ultrabeat. Anyone who will be using Ultrabeat should check out this turorial. I do wish there had been more tips and tricks concerning application.

The tutorials are very well put together, I love the extra efforts of clearly indicating the regions & Steve is very engaging with his explanation, which is the number 1 important factor in teaching... The only problem I have is the volume seems very soft, it certainly can bebnefit from a compressor!!!

Once more another fine guide on how te use this (in my opinion) complex drumsynth. It might benefit form soem more sounshaping examples. But overal a great Ultrabeat user guide that finally made learn how to unleash this beast ! There's more to Ultrabeat then one would think at first sight. This tutorial brings this to the surface.

Ultrabeat is not easy. It's well explained. I would like to hear and see more good sounding examples of what ultrabeat can really do. More end result examples.

Great tutorial very easy to understand. i can now Set up & use ultrabeat without to many problems. excellent overview of all Ultrabeat's functions.

I am still working with this tutorial but so far have found it to be very informative. Steve H really explains things slowly and in detail. I feel I am doing things immediately that may have taken months to figure out myself. Worth every penny.

Steve H. does a good job covering all the features of Ultrabeat. However, I wish there some more examples of creating sounds from start to finish in the synth section.

Another great training video. Steve does a great job as usual. Ultrabeat looks pretty complicated but watching an expert use it is heaps better than a manual (I will read it one day. Promise). Re: the Modulators. It's a pity Apple didn't include the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator. It would have been nice to be able to make a sound of the earth being blown up.

I liked this tutorial. However, I really wish some of the more advanced functions were thoroughly demonstrated tho. Specifically, demonstrations of effective use of modulators and vias. Also effective use of different Edit sequences. Although this covered every function, it could've used many more real world applications of the advanced functions.

That´s the way to uncomplicate the complicate, and to reveal the essence of this great drum machine!!

Never used Logic before and I was overwhelmed by the look of Ultrabeat, This tutorial worked wonders! It all makes sense now and it only took the time to watch the tutorial to feel comfortable with Ultrabeat

Another great tutorial video from MacProVideo.com. Ultrabeat is a pretty challenging instrument to tackle for a novice to Logic Pro. This video explained it clearly. I was diving into Ultrabeat and getting more out of it - and much more quickly - than I would have pouring over the manual. Would like to have heard more from Igor - otherwise - great tutorial.

Its good,but I haven finished yet,but at first I did not the ultrabeat at all because I did not like the sounds in it.But started diging into the sloftware and began to make it work.Now when I use logic I use ultrabeat only,now that understand it more.Iam still into tutorialand. When can put your drums into the software its . Can you delete all the drums to build a new set?

So far I have purchased Logic 101 "Mastering Logic" with Martin & 204 Ultrabeat Unleashed with Steve H. and have found both invaluable. Both instructors are very knowledgeable & down to earth. The webpage is easy to navigate, and purchasing and downloading is a breeze. I have also visited & downloaded loops from Audiobase.com with the same positive results. hello I must say all of the tutorials I've looked at are grate I wish I had more money to buy more, but hey what could I say slowly but surely my libary will grow and as for Ultrabeat unleashed, lots to learn and so keep up the good training.

The video tutorial has taught me more in 2 days about Ultrabeat than 6 months with the Logic manual. This is the best way to learn, by WATCHING an expert. You cannot get this from a book. The video is broken down into easy to follow and comprehensive sections and is presented with passion. I like this so much that I'm going to buy all the Logic videos. I've packed the Logic manuals away.

I love it ! It shows how creative you can work with Logic-Plugins if you understand what it is for and how it works.

A great video showing the ins and outs of ultrabeat. I never knew the flexibility of this instrument. For me, the audio was very low. I had to crank up the volume to hear the voices and sounds that were being tweeked. Some aspects were a little too technical for me since I am not too keen on oscillators and modulators. Overall a great video. I am now more comfortable using this instrument as opposed to being scared to even want to take the time to try it.

GOOD: I thought the geography, modulator and via sections to be extremely helpful. I took screenshots of the VIA rules and the parameter hierarchy (global, pattern, step, etc) Very useful. The new things i learned that i didn't pick up in the manual (i'm a manual reader) were the ease of constructing new presets from lots of disparate other presets, voices and sequencers ..that is GOLD!! COULD BE BETTER: The filter section (until he got to it midway) was a bit unclear, especially in light of WHERE the oscs + noise are MIXED before going to the EQ + output.

Simply amazing, this video made me really appreciate logic to a whole other level My music is now more complex but was easier to make

a very complicated piece of kit explained very clearly in bite sized chunks by steve horelick its going to take a lot of work to get into it properly but without this guide it would take forever cheers paul///ps anyone with logic 7/8 should definately get martin sitters excellent instructional video and keep it sitting behind your project as a quick reference tool

Ultrabeat is only "Ultra" after you watch this tutorial set. There are a lot of hidden tips and tricks that are uncovered in this set of videos. I was only getting about 10% of the potential of Ultrabeat until I watched these.

UltraBeat Unleashed is required viewing for anyone wanting to program drums. This instrument is so powerful but the interface & the signal path are complex. I bought Logic 204: UltraBeat Unleashed because I wanted to use UltraBeat instead of EXS24. The tutorial is up to the usual excellent standard of MacProVideo. I recommend it without hesitation as you'll find yourself using UltraBeat a lot more!

Very good tutorial as an introduction to Ultrabeat. Basically all aspects of the interface are explained. What I would like is more 'real world' examples. Take a few styles of music (rock, country, jazz, whatever) and build a beat to fit each type. As it is, it stands as a great tutorial on Ultrabeat.

I learn better through example than trying to read a manual- so the video tutorial was invaluable. The information was presented in a logical way with a nice flow, building on each previous chapter. The lessons opened up new ways to use UlraBeat, giving me inspiration and news ideas for my musical composition.

I had zero experience with drum machines, Logic and the Mac OS when I started with this and other MacProVideo Logic tutorials. Steve does a terrific job of making a complex interface very approachable and understandable. He's also quite entertaining, which helps makes the learning process fun! In my first attempt at adding drums with Ultrabeat I was able to get some excellent results. I would highly recommend this and other Logic tutorials to anyone looking to get up and running quickly. I also want to give a plug to the support staff at MacProVideo. They were quick to respond when I had a problem and took the time to help me resolve some issues I had with the NED software. They went above and beyond what I would be expected in the process.

Ultrabeat, Ultrabeat, ULTRABEAT! My new favorite instrument, I own a Roland Mv8000 Production/Drum Machine with 16 drum pads, much like the AKAI MPC series but better, and it now sits and will collect dust, Why? Ultrabeat is like having 24 pads for drum and the 25th pad as a full piano roll. Plus feature of a synthesizers, sequencer, mixer and sampler with access to all you samples and instrument files all within the Logic interface. You can trigger drum patterns on the fly in sync with your for live and recording or copy and paste patterns, and also use the patterns with battery, the sky is the limit with Ultrabeat!!!

I watched the tutorial over a 2 day period. The content was great and the lessons were well organized. Prior to viewing the lessons, I've tried using Ultrabeat without much success at understanding the functions and flows. After viewing the tutorial, I have a good knowledge base that makes me much more comfortable with the interface thus increasing my efficiency using the product. I wouldn't change anything. The "hyper" learn mode was a great addition to the player. Steven

Hey guys, Just wanted to say that when I first bought my Apple G5 and logicpro, I was very worried that I would not be up and running quickly. I stumbled on your site and downloaded Martin's Understanding the Enivironment the same day that I had an appointment with the so called certified LogicPro specialist at my local apple store. needless to say I have not been back to that guy and I have almost every video you guys have made for logic and reason's. I review them often and alway learn something new. the last one I downloaded was the Ultrabeat Unleashed, I've owned logic for over a year and had not really been using Ultrabeat so I wanted to find out how powerful it was and got your video. I was very impressed and started working on some tracks using this plugin right away. I only wish he spent more time on the use of using your own Samples, like hip hop producer use thier Akai MPC's. but overall I alway reccommend you guys to everone. Ive been using logic for many years and once in a while I would try Ultrabeat. I never realized what a great instrument it really is. But after viewing Ultrabeat Unleased i have now dumped Battery and am using Ultrabeat exclusively. This is a great video which covers every aspect of Ultrabeat and it sure beats reading the manual!

It was presented in a very organized and simple way. I would prefer the programming of patterns be done earlier and more coverage of the rhythm programming prior to the sound modification which is pretty intense. Excellent teaching skills, however.

I just completed the Ultrabeat tutorial yesterday. Quality is more than excellent as usual! I already had a good grasp of this Logic's plugin and even then, I learned a few new tricks. The chapter 28 about chopping up audio is alone worth the price of the tutorial.

I had been putting off Ultrabeat for quite awhile due to the seemingly complicated interface. After reaching the end of the road with my purchased drum interface - I decided to go back to Logic to see what it had to offer. Fortunately, Steve's tutorial came out just in time! Through watching the video, I instantly went from seeing Ultrabeat as a confusing plug-in to realizing that this is a full-on beat machine! Thanks to Steve and everyone else involved in making this video! It came at just the right time as I am now beginning my 2nd album. I feel like Ultrabeat can now become part of my arsenal as I attempt to record this album and also to write new songs for future albums.
