Making music is only half the battle ... at some point you'll need to master your music and get it ready for distribution. This tutorial shows you how.
WaveBurner is the often overlooked CD Mastering utility that comes with Logic Studio. It's a great app for making Audio CDs, but that doesn't mean it's easy to use ...
In this new tutorial by J.F. Brissette, you'll learn how to properly compile and output your Audio CDs. Issues like CDDA Frames, Index Points, Track Names & CD Text are all clearly explained in these tutorials.
And BTW, J.F. Brissette is a very accomplished musician. Not only is he the musical director of Cirque Du Soliel's "O", but he's also a seasoned session artist that has played in bands across North America.

Thought this was a great tutorial. Would be great to have an updated version as some of the Waveburner features were really hard to find in the Logic 9 package. Other than that, great.
Top class video training from a guy who really knows his stuff. Nice speaking voice and no fluff in the content, just the information, which I find very important. I thought it was a little short for the price but regardless of that, I now know what I need to confidently carry out my first Waveburner project. Saved me a lot of time and trouble.
With this tutorial, I discovered a powerfull application hidden in my HardDisk. Thanks for this excellent video !
I've bought several of the tutorials from Mac Pro Video. In all, I have to say " The tutorials I've purchased receive a five star rating "... Being new to Logic 9 studio or any other software can be a little stressful even for us veteran producers. Mac Pro Video gives you a serious jumpstart in the education department to get you making music the right way with just a few hours of training... Thanks a million~!~ Ian Weasner / DJ Prophet DarkRoom Entertainment INC.
love the waveburner tutorials did not know it did so much this is all you need to finish your cd. great job.
Excellent video! I went from "mystified" to "competent" in one evening! Thanks-
Hi guys, i am an SAE Institute Lecture(sae.edu) in London and also i am a creative at the Apple store in west London. Your video are pure gold!! Keep it up!! ciao
...oh, these WaveBurner video is great...all is explained so good, and the english is in an tempo where a not-nativ speaker also has fun...it couldnt be better...thanks you guys from macprovideo!!!
This video gave me a new look on wave burner. I was quite exited to work on a project in wave burner immediately after viewing the tutorial.
Hi There, This WaveBurner Tutorial is very good, and got me out of a Hole. Keep up the good Work.
Very good! I'm a musician not scientist. Now I've learn to make a fairly good product. Just a little more on Logic-Waveburner thing and it would be a 5. Like do I use effects on both the output of logic and Waveburner.
This tutorial was a good basic overview of WaveBurner. I had already tried the program out before watching this video and had hoped I'd learn something new about it. The most interesting part was the mastering your CD section. What I'd hoped I'd learn was individual instrument region imports to WaveBurner or multiple instrument imports to WaveBurner to transfer to another computer or hard disc recording system or whether that's even possible. However the tutorial was visually very clear and easy to follow, quite enjoyable. Thanks guys.
I didn't know anything about Waveburner so decided to get the Waveburner tutorial video. Found it concise and very informative. I immediately started using Waveburner and found it a great way to organize and prep songs for a CD. Excellent job by J. F. Brissette in explaining the program. Also bought a song from iTunes from the Brigitte LeClerc CD used in the tutorial - so nice bonus there. Great Job!
It was Phenomenal. I could not turn my eyes away. The info was straight to the point. The innovators at MacProVideo are always giving their best and thats why I keep coming back.
Good and instructive, so far the only tutor who actually works with musical material (any fool can throw in samples). It feels like hough that there is a lot of information still missing.
Brissette really knows what he is talking about. I really enjoyed the videos, and the fact that he used "pro" music really made a difference.
This is a very good tutorial. I really got a grasp of the application after watching it. It also gave me a better understanding of the Mastering process, which was always somewhat of a mystery to me. Thanks, MPV! -dave
Good tutorial! Not a 5 in my opinion... but I know WaveBurner better then ever!
I didn't even know Wave Burner was included when I bought Logic. What a great piece of software. Awesome tutorial. I Would recommend it to anyone.
If you really want to learn waveburner and get the most from it, this is the right course!
Logic 305 Wave Burner tutorial (and others). OK, you got Logic installed on your machine, you have a group of manuals at least as lengthy as War and Peace and as heavy as a couple of house bricks and you are all revved up and ready to go! But, suddenly you've never felt so alone! Wouldn't it be great to have an enthusiastic, friendly and most of all informed friend come over and show you through some of those vague areas outlined in the manual, someone to show you some neat tricks? (Well I have to admit when it comes to video tutorials my experience has led me to be quite cynical. I have been disappointed by badly presented tutorials whose main aim seems to have been to show me just how clever, famous and 'cool' the presenter is [How boring] ). Not so with MacProVideo.com tutorials. In Wave Burner Logic 305 J.F. Brissette presents a wealth of information in a friendly and concise way. I feel like I'm sitting at my Mac with a friend showing me some cool stuff. Love the N.E.D. system that keeps everything organized and easy to find. I enjoyed it so much I came back and downloaded Logic 303 TNT 1 and I have just pre-ordered Logic 201 and can't wait till 4th June to download it!! I know that I won't be disappointed and I look forward to learning more about one of the best applications on the planet! Meanwhile I am enjoying mastering an album for 'Skin2Soul' and working on the final mix of my album 'Stance'. Great fun!! Stefan (Subliminal Attraction)
I really liked the way J.F. walked you through the program with ease. I really feel I learned alot out of this tutorial, and learned somethings I wouldn't have by reading the manual. I loved the simple style, and real implementation of the video.
Viewed the video one day was rocking on Waveburner the next. Anyone using Logic8 needs to get this vid.
If you beleive you know everything about burning a CD don´t buy this tutorial but with my experienced you gonna mist some great and valuable points, that 305 make me go ahead in my goal to be a better Techno. It is Cool Relax and Fun Best of all easy to follow AlRobi
The Waveburner tutorial was extremely helpful! It's a program that on one level, is very user friendly and almost anyone can open it up and start using it; on another level, the tutorial explored some things that I probably would have wished I'd known if I'd gone further down the road without it! I have several of the MacPro vids, and they are all exceptional. This one did not disappoint either. Please keep em' coming. Even for those of us who have been at this for some time, it is still refreshing to learn new tricks and tips. Thanks for all the work you put into these!
Logic 305: WaveBurner Tutorial was amazing! I spent hours scouring the net for "Logic Mastering Tutorials", not realizing what WaveBurner was. It was only when i stumbled across the MPV website that i discovered it's full potential, and that it was what i had been searching for. I bought the video and had my mix divided into separate tracks, effects added, levels fixed and project mastered that very afternoon. The tutorial even anticipated problems that i didn't think would happen, and showed how to fix them. Very impressed. i have bought another 2 videos! Thanks guys =0)
This may be one of the weirdest programs around, waveburner that is... -- this video was great - the instructor was great - I was so confused until I watched this video - hallelujah MacProVideo Rules!!!
Wouldn't say that it was very effective in the Waveburner category, but has some amazingly useful information on Logic's native Mastering Plug-ins, and some cool Leopard tricks.
if you're creating music in logic and bouncing down mp3's to your desktop to throw into i-tunes to burn your cd's - you know - those cd's you'll be giving to people that represents 'your' music - 'your' sound guess what you're missing out i-tunes sux the life out of your tracks this was a very helpful tutorial on many levels - waveburner is a powerful mastering suite and i'm glad i know how to use it now - oh - and j.f.brissette is thoughtful and a really great presenter - he gets my award for absolute mellow delivery i bet he drinks a lot of green tea keep 'em coming mpv
Very useful information, well thought out and intelligently presented. And I especially appreciated the sophisticated caliber of the musical source material used in the tutorial. Bravo! PS - I'd love to see an equally sophisticated tutorial on notation in Logic. something for the serious orchestral composer for example.
Great stuff! Everytime I purchase a tutorial from you it's always fun and easy to understand everything without a glitch. I've had WaveBurner for donkey's years and I never knew how to use it until today. It's also good timing that this lesson came out as I'm supposed to deliver my next "Motor" album in March 08! Keep up the good work! Your fan, Oly
Great tutorial! Biggest complement I can offer...I'm using Waveburner, Thanks!
Excellent tutorial! Thorough and well presented. Can't wait to start using Waveburner with confidence! Cheers.
very user friendly and informative i love it. Great job guys keep up the good work.
I have recently added the WaveBurner to my list of tutorials and it is most certainly up to the highest standards I have come to expect from macProVideo. The style of presentation is as always extremely professional but so easy to follow and offering a clear understanding of the product. Those thinking of starting with macProVideo should have no qualms whatsoever and get stuck in!
Great tutorial. I haven't really delved into Waveburner much but now I have the tools to do so. Didn't realize that so much could be done with it. Thanks.
Top-notch instruction as usual. Each section is concise and many useful tips are presented in a logical flow. Another excellent tutorial. I feel so much better about WaveBurner. Thanks again!
