Absolutely incredible tutorial! Incredibly well planned and executed.

Overbridge & RYTM
Sep 23, 2016
My first macprovideo course and I thought it was great! Really got me going quick on RYTM and Overbridge. Many thanks.
-Gareth
Excellent course, I highly recommend it. Its packed with information at a proper pace, moreover Mr. Ellis has a good attitude. While I don't intend to use all ideas as presented (my Ableton Push is going to handle hi-hats in repeat mode) there is much to take away from this course.
-LXOR
A good course with good content but didnt feel particularly well linked together. Would have liked more examples as well.
-Rod
This is the best course I've seen so far for DJing with Ableton. Simple, clear and to the point. I'm looking forward to the next course by Kiva.
-Pat
I am very glad I watched this extensive tutorial, while making notes meanwhile for the parts that seem relevant to the way I intend working with the score editor, including several key commands. Actually, I have never used the score editor (or notation software) before and, while working in the piano roll, I kind of said goodbye to 'formal' musical notation, but not anymore from now on: I look forward to working with it, among other things for having a proper way to have chord symbols and vocal ...

Good review as to the different types of compressor, there uses & the sound between the various models & the legacy versions given away with the hardware
-Dv8ter
This is an information packed course covering the absolute basics of sound. My only complaint is that the author/narrator is a bit too monotone.
-LXOR
I had a 16/48 mono file from a live show recorded off of a digital Berringer board in one of Austin's finest venues with two Grammy winning artists. Even with a great board mix and great performances, mastering the show was a challenge. This tutorial really helped me polish it up and helped me to further understand Ozone. It was a big learning curve and difficult with all the bleed and energy changes of a live performance mono track. I have 14 more live shows to master with more awesome artists...

This course is equally about songwriting as it is about recording and mixing. In it we get to see how these people like to do the above and why.

Another homerun by Rishabh. This man is a rare combination of genius and educational ability. Having taken his courses on Sylenth1 and Massive 306, as well as many similar courses by different instructors, I can honestly say that Rishabh provides the most thorough and comprehensive description of synth concepts (Wavetable, Additive, Subtractive, FM, or otherwise) and how they relate to specific instruments. Thank you Mr. Rajan!
-Michael
Great course, I don't own Maschine but its impressive to watch somebody so highly skilled at playing this instrument. I'm looking forward to his second course.

One of the best Edge Animate tutorial series on the web! Beautiful illustrations included in the examples. I appreciate that two series - basic and advanced - have been created.

I found all this legal stuff surprisingly interesting. A brief review at the end would be welcomed.
-LXOR
Really excellent intro, very clear, inspiring and pretty much covers all features, and Matt is his usual charming, musical and engaging self. The reasons I didn't go all the way to 5 stars are that I've had a week playing with Form already and while these lessons definitely increased my confidence and showed me some new stuff, it didn't answer any of the questions I'd come up with in that time and came into the course with, particularly about the Perform section, which deserved a much clearer an...

The Mix
Sep 14, 2016
This is a very deep and thorough exploration into the art of mixing - a difficult yet very important part of the song production process. I learned so many new things which I immediately applied to my current work in progress and was absolutely thrilled to hear my song coming to life. It's a lengthy tutorial, but very worth the investment of time. Recommend!
-Badmac Music
This course is informative and I picked up a few bits of knowledge. I wish however it had more info on creating different types/classes of sounds. It does some of that near the end, but I would like much more.
-LXOR
This course basically covers/mirrors information in the Minilogue manual. I didn't find it too useful but if you don't want to read the manual or need a refresher, this course will do it.
-LXOR
Wow what a great teacher and an amazing class. Can't wait for the next one. His passion really shines through as he shares the knowledge.
-Zeno
This course is great. There's nothing like listening to a professor who love's his work. It makes it so much more enjoyable to listen to. I went through the whole course a few times to make sure I got all the basics. It will not be boring to refer back to it. You will not go to sleep or wonder if the guy would rather be doing something else. No information was left to chance. I already knew how to use Logic intuitively. This course helped to cover all the things I missed, including correct termi...

Immense Power. It took me one week of waking up at 4:45 am and watching till 7:30 am, taking notes and being blown away by what I could possibly achieve using this powerful all-in-one module. Synth Drum sound creation with the extra Noise and Tone Generators and a Transient Designer included in the FX section...Now I can really get into making my own drum sounds. Combined with the external audio routing, CV & Gate, internal sampling and edit feature...wow...this is going to be fun! Thank you Mo ...

I had DJ Kiva as a teacher at Dubspot. His teaching method is outstanding - and this course is no different. Perfect pacing and prompts to try out some of the techniques on your own between chapters. Highly recommend this DJing with Ableton course and looking forward to the Advanced class later on.

Amazing! Thank you so much! Would highly recommend, I wish I had known about this course sooner. So brilliantly taught, easy to follow, an absolute must for a beginner!

Another great course from Joe Albano - I greatly rate all of the courses Joe has done. I don't own Gravity but I do own the Vocalise Gravity Pack which is built on the Gravity Engine. With the exception of the Design tab all of the course information here is relevant to the Gravity Packs so entirely worth watching for those that own these stand-alone libraries.

Trap
Sep 4, 2016
Great course, only thing i'd recommend is playing more of the audio describing. However, saying that, gave great explanations, made it easy to understand. Anyone looking to make trap should find this very useful.

Love these quick tours. Be nice if there were many more of these that were segue into more detailed/advanced courses. This quick tour, in particular, was done very well

Great overview of how Drum Machine Designer, Drum Kit Designer and Ultrabeat work together. I never really understood how integrated and flexible they were with each other. FastTrack has been a great series of videos. They've improved my workflow tremendously. Thanks, Booker! Keep them coming.

In these videos Miro shares with us a few of his tricks to get a professional sounding mix. His explanations are easy to grasp and his examples are inspiring. Also, even though Miro explains his tips in Live, I don't think any of these tips is applicable to Live only. I'm on Logic Pro 9 myself and find most tips can be easily applied to Logic and 3rd party plugins I own. But It might be a bit harder to understand what he's doing if you've never worked in Live at all. If you want to make a bet...

Thanks Booker for creating this great video tutorial about the Library Browser. The Library is definitely one of those underrated features in Logic that needs more attention. It is packed with tons of features that are essential to the Logic workflow and I would highly recommend to every Logic user to watch this video and learn how to take full advantage of the amazing Library Browser.
-Edgar Rothermich
Coming from an instructional design background, I know when I see quality. This course is not only crystal clear, it is inspiring and exciting me to dive deeper into Cubase. Cubase can be mind-boggling when you first open it, but I have confidence that these courses are going to help flatten that learning curve considerably. On to the next module!

excellent and in depth course on Alchemy, A very deep and Complicated synth with so many possibilities and David did a super job of going through all that Alchemy has to offer and more. Thank you Daivid, and Mac Pro video, honestly i've had to go through it several times. Thanks again
-jimmy crespo
There are some great workflow tips here, like the title promises, but the real gem in here, in my opinion are the videos about compression. I never knew the different types you can choose in the logic compressor could make such a difference. The best are the videos on parallel compression, it's quite a hyped subject I think, but Olav shows us what it really is all about. (Also great for non-logic users.)
-Groovizm
Good course that I would recomend for beginners & also for people like myself who hardly ever read the manual which results in missing useful functions that you should have been aware off.
-Dv8ter
I started watching this series expecting it to be about remixing (after all, it's called Remix Revelations), but I was hoping to pick up some insights on building a track in general. I was glad to find out that although, technically, Olav is remixing a track, it's actually his own track, and that I indeed did learn a lot on both mixing and arranging a track. So, if you're expecting techniques focused on remixing a track from somebody else, than I'm quite sure you will be disappointed, but if y...
-Groovizm
There's some very useful technical advise here concerning batch export, tempo track and the like. Personally I didn't think the part about the actual writing of the music was that useful as these basic Cubase functions are probably familiar to most people from the basic tutorials. Nevertheless, as it's not a very time-consuming task, I think this tutorial is worth watching.
-Pecchan
The first two chapters of "FM8: FM Synthesis and Sound Design" are just a simple knob-by-knob run through of the FM8. I learned nothing here that I couldn't have learned from the manual. So I was really hoping for some new insights and sound design tips when I got to the the third and last chapter "Creating Tones". But I'm sorry to say that David Earl does not seem to be really into programming FM sounds at all. The sounds he creates in this chapter are not inspiring at all. So, though I did...

Excellent intro course to an amazing synth / workstation. This board is so deep that I think most people don't really comprehend what it's capable of. Good paced and informative video course by Matt. He clearly knows his stuff and is passionate about this workstation. Recommended viewing! More please from Matt on the Kronos.

Excellent course. This is a MEGA deep workstation / Synth. This system can even burn final mixed CD's! basically most folks just have no idea what amazing things it can do. This cource starts to uncover some of what is possible. We need a LOT more of these, going even deeper please. Exploring Kontakt 4
Aug 13, 2016
What a relief is this course of Kontakt 4 compared to the other one, which I just finished. The first one was a monotonous recital of every tab, knob and slider from A to Z and was a burden to go through and listen to it all. This second course however is an example of how subjects should be taught. Chapeau!

Joe's tutorials are always some of the best, and this is one of my favorites. I'm not sure how, but he always manages to be at once exhaustive with the technical details, and at the same time make normally confusing subjects completely clear and straightforward. I hope we have more like this coming soon.

as a connoisseur of tutorials, and always looking for ways to find new ways of doing things, i am constantly chasing new GEM tutorials. This is a GEM. most of what is covered here is pretty basic, but powerful. I have found the best tutorials are the practical basics but near game changing in use. He does a brilliant job of showing you something, and giving you the chance to apply it immediately because you are instantly able to imagine how you would use it in your own productions. This one...

What a fantastic, helpful video. The trainer is clear, easy to understand and goes step by step in his process. I know my Macbook Pro much better as a result of downloading and watching these videos. I even learned some trouble shooting ideas that might help me fix my Mac desktop. I recommend this course for anyone, regardless of their computer skill level.
-Juliet Wright
Good review, I just sort of wish there were some instructional series teaching how to mix Heavy Guitars... This stuff is nice. I have no interest in Hi string but I'm sure a lot of players do. I wonder if Universal Audio is not paying this dude or giving him free plugins or something but their plugins do seem cool. Yeah I just wish there were something for the underground metal audio engineer.

MIDI Demystified
Jul 29, 2016
I absolutely LOVE all of Peter's tutorials! Both MIDI orchestration courses and his Logic score editor tutorials are the best money that I've ever spent. I thought that I already had a pretty deep knowledge of MIDI, but liking his style and wanting some review, I tried this earlier tutorial. I found his trademark humor a little more artificial and heavy-handed in this one, but his ability to break down concepts to easy-to-understand 'bits' was there. Well worth the money for anyone using MIDI to...

Core Cubase
Jul 29, 2016
I am starting out with Cubase Elements 8 and was finding it hard to get a good basic understanding of how and why things work the way they do. Even though this course is based on Cubase 5 and is therefore somewhat different from my own, the broad operation and logic of Cubase remains unchanged and I can't imagine any other instructor being anywhere near as good as Matt in helping me to understand how to use Cubase to best effect. This is an amazing and very thorough course that includes several ...

Very good course. Covers the most important features of Ozone 7. Almost a must if you are new to Ozone
-Giuseppe Dio
Mr. Schwartz does an excellent job presenting the course material. His speaking style and the course content go well together. I would, however, prefer to have a course called "Logic's Score Editor for Classical Composers (or something similar). Lesson 1 would show us how to set up an orchestral score and explain all the features needed to create an entire piece using the score editor, primarily. Maybe this could be a new course idea!
-Tellmee Moore
Good course to understand the editors so often ignored. After viewing this I will make more effort to use these editors.

The Global Tracks
Jul 21, 2016
After viewing this course I realised that my understanding of the global tracks was sadly lacking & the effect of its use on apple loops on key & tempo should be understood & set when ever you start a new project. A must see course.

The Global Tracks
Jul 21, 2016
This course from Booker Edwards Jr. explained the Global Tracks of Logic Pro in a clear, personable and intelligent way. I recommend this to anyone who needs some education with global tracks and I will certainly be looking at other courses by Booker Edwards Jr.

Really great exploration of the synth. I've gotten about half way through, and it really helps in getting one acquainted with how the basis of synthesis works on this unit. One area I feel it might have been cool to expand upon, would be the sound designing section. But still, this series is great and comprehensive! Thank you, Rishabh!
-Julian Cassia
I loved it and look foward to more from this teacher. He is a great explainer and knows what hes talking about
-David
The instructor's knowledge of the instrument is obviously exhaustive, and he presented that knowledge thoroughly and professionally. Very much appreciated this course.
-Gregory Cain
I feel like I learned more in Gregg's tutorial about jazz theory than in some of the semester-long college-level music courses that I'm taking. There was no "fluff", and the exercises at the end of the tutorial helped reinforce the concepts presented.

Awesome introduction to what can be done with the Rack Extensions in this collection. Just enough detail to let you know what they're about and some ideas on ways to use them, but not so much detail as to confuse you. Excellent stuff.

Awesome course! Now I have a good understanding of how take folders and recording in general works in Logic. I'm definitely feeling way more confident in the studio, now that I know what to do. I'd say this course is essential to any music producer and engineer.

The three free videos of this coarse were very well done, The instructor really sounds like he knows what he is doing. Just ordered my Circuit from Reverb at a fantastic price with a one year warrent. I will be purchasing this coarse very soon. Also hope you have a coarse on the Roland JDX-I.

Thavius Beck is an awesome teacher of all things Ableton and this Push 2 video is no exception. He does a great job of articulating what he is doing and demonstrations are so clear and easy to follow along with. I watch this video on my iPad with Ableton and Push 2 running on my desktop so I can follow along. If you are new to Push 2 then look no further and if you are transitioning from Push to Push2 then this video will make things a million times easier.

This course is simply amazing! Definitely one of the best courses I've taken so far on Macprovideo. Before watching it, I was confused with signal flow in Logic. I wasn't aware of the different things you could do with sends and subgroups. Peter is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything very clearly. I watched the whole course 2 times in a row to make the lessons really stick in my head, and now I can say I have a very deep understanding of signal flow in Logic. I recommend this course ...

-Dv8ter
Good course to ensure you get into good habits while giving you essential knowledge if your lucky enough to find yourself in a analogue studio with full mixing and outboard.
-Dv8ter
Good course, filled in my knowledge on groups and phase locking audio which should make timing up jam sessions a great deal easier.
-Dv8ter
My first digital camera was a "point and shopt" Cannon Ixus. I loved it and shot lots of pics. Now I own a Fujifilm XT-1 and have learned that it is a lot more to it than p.a.s. This course put it into perspective.
-B. B. B. Kjelbye
This was a nice overview of the new features.. Not too in depth, but this is "Fast Track"! Good gig MacPro
-BPGeez
This is an excellent review of what these rack extensions are meant to do and what they can do. The information is provided in a very easy to understand format. Technicalities are provided only where they are needed.
-Derek Fazakas
One of the best tutorials ive seen. This guy is so thoroug and being a musician he is able to give the best of bithe worlds meaning video and audio. Loved it. Cant wait to check out the other stuff from him.
-jazzfreak55@gmail.com
Pretty good introduction to Logic Pro X features. The only thing I have to say is the instructor goes over certain topics very fast and doesn't explain them very well. Also throughout the whole course he failed to mention a lot of the key commands which are extremely important to be fast in Logic and in any other DAW. Like for example, the shortcut to open the library is Y, Smart Controls B, Mixer X, Toolbar Ctrl+Option+CMD+T etc.
-Avid Learner
Awesome beginner's guide to Logic Pro X! I've been using Logic for 1 year and wanted a refreshment on the basic concepts. The instructor is very knowledgeable and explains everything clearly and easy. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to learn how to make music with Logic Pro X and to those who already have been using Logic but want a refresher on the basic concepts!

It was very thorough. Took me a few sessions to work through this whole course but I would never have near the understanding of it that I do now. Thanks

One of the very useful corse, which can show you the uses of UAD plugins on Drums & Bass. It is really open a new doors to have a glow on your mix ! Thanks

It's always a great time when Mo teaches. There are some really cool ideas in here. Wish there was a tad bit more on what can be accomplished when using these new Players in series. Good gig MacPro!

I liked the section because it gave me a full understanding of some very simple but effective sound techniques, as well as, exporting tracks and creating disks

Great course. The way you break everything down makes much more sense than trying to read a book to learn theory or look at diagrams. Having verbal instruction with visuals on modes and their relationships to scales helped a lot
-Ian
After taking the first 3 Live 9 courses, this feels like one of the final pieces of the production puzzle with this DAW.
-Michael
This is the best course on AskVideo specially for Pro Tools users.
-Farzin
This course almost made my head explode! So many concepts of orchestrating instruments in simple ways to evoke different moods! Any producer who is struggling with this commonly overlooked aspect of their career should watch! Help break down that writers block!
-Ian
Great course, in fact: all Olav's courses are great!
-CvG
Very useful! Good tips and tricks!
-CvG
Great course for people just starting out like myself. Following Youtube tutorials on specific techniques only goes so far, this helped me to locate things better, and gain confidence in using the photoshop GUI
-Ian
Great course! I've spent years working on music and haven't given much time for all this high and mighty lingo, but its well worth a watch. Much easier to have someone explain this type of thing to you than to go reading online about things that may or may not be accurate or opening up a 500 page book! Thanks!

This course is super useful. Molekular feels like a big maze and nothing makes sense unless you have someone go into the features like this course has. So many things in this course will help me to actually make use of this plug in. Thanks

Great course. I enjoyed the mix use of Ableton, iZotope, & Serum. Great tips at the end for pumping up the mix down. Thanks
-Ian
An great course with an amazing instructor! It's always a risk injecting humor into these courses but Schwartz hits it on the head. More importantly, he gets across the point with a breezy, intuitive and easy-to-understand narrative. One of the best courses of its kind I've ever heard. Thanks Peter Schwartz and thanks MPV!!
-Ken K
Very intersting and useful video tutorial. A lot of information and pro tricks how to make pro level vocal track. Big thanks!
-Ruslan Polusotsky
I bought this tutorial a few hours ago. Danny's delivery and presentation style is very inviting, warm and friendly. He explains the tuition concepts in simple, easy to understand language - whilst also expertly demonstrating the important, core aspects that need to be grasped. A pleasure to watch and learn with him - more from this guy, please!

I stepped away from Logic for ~3 years, and I had no idea so much had been added! This was probably the best "up to speed" course I could have watched.

I've owned Guitar Rig for a number of years now as part of the Komplete collection, but never had the chance to get into and use it. After watching this tutorial I see now what I've been missing out on. Personally for me I've now got a another powerful sound design tool at my disposal and have started imaging possible ways to design my sounds with the extensive tools that GR has to offer. Covers much more too.
-Sound of Sine
I loved the natural and realistic way this tutorial was presented by Danny. All his moves were done in realtime and within a professional context. His way of approaching tuning and doubling was amazing for me! Definitely trying those techniques.

Absolute Absynth
Jun 15, 2016
Excellent - Better than the Groove 3 course for Absynth. While it may not cut as much exhaustive depth as the Groove 3 'Absynth Explained', it describes the synth in a manner that is more relative to the subjective. In other words, it shows you how the features impact a 'real world' sound, often dissecting good patches that come with the program. My first course with MPV and I'm greatly impressed!
-KK
Awesome! A very informative and useful course. Highly recommended.
-DT
Great set of videos... Quick, to the point, and easy to follow. I was about to invest some time into learning how to edit in another popular DAW. Between having many clients that use other DAWS, and my thirst to know all that I can, it seemed like the right thing to do. Logic has been my DAW of choice since Version 8, and I do everything in Logic, and also use Mainstage for live performance. Recording, and editing just got even easier with the newest 10.2.3 update, and now this video series!...

This course almost left me cross-eyed. Not because it was difficult, but rather for m. Wohl and his ability to explain complex settings and interactions in a simple and laidback way. I cant wait to try this one out. (sweetheart, can I buy one more camera?🌹 I just learned about this multucam thing and......sweetheart?)

When I first opened iBook Author some years ago, I felt it was a ather complicated tool to use, so I let it be for a while Over the years I do however observe that eBooks have. Grown rather populare. So when I bought the Making of Star Wars ebook, I was hooked. Suddenly I had a "living" book of my number obe movie in my hands. And now I know how they did it. Next year is my turn!

A glimpse under the hood. This course shows the new and enhanced features in El Capitan clearly and in great detail. I would point out however, if you are rather new to OSX, the operating system to Mac, do not start here. You should rather start with the courses for the previous version - Yosomete. El Capitan is not that different, and you will grasp the concept of how your Mac works.
-B. B. B. Kjelbye
Great tutorial. Made a easy to use software seem even easier. Thanks Olav!
-Terry Bradwell
Last but not least, the final module. This covered a lot of nifty stuff, like organizing a project and sharing and exporting a movie. Wwatch out Mr. Spielberg, I have been tutored by Michael Wohl. Here I come!
-B. B. B. Kjelbye
When I finished this course, I knew two things at once: Working with colors is much more important than I imagined. I have to revisit this course soon. That is because evert chapter had something new to offer. This was a great one.
-B. B. B. Kjelbye
This course is really fun to follow. Here m. Wohl demonstrates the full power of FC Pro when it comes to the many ways of enhancing a film project. Even if this course is crowded with details of the many aspects of special effects and enhancements, it is easy to follow. Thanks to m. Wohl.

I had used to be a desk engineer through the 70s and 80s. I am now returning to recording with various DAWs and editors and plugins - with facilities that I would have sacrificed to dodgy gods for, back then. This course is excellent in its emphasis on 'doing things right' and in my particular case has effectively bridged my existing analogue desk/tape background skills into the DAW in front of me: I now know precisely how to proceed with it. Thanks!

I really like Booker Edwards Jr. as an instructor. His explanations are clear and concise and always done at a good pace that's easy to follow. I have bought a few of his other courses and they're all great and....this newest course is no exception. Everything in Audio Editing Tips is stuff most people will use all the time. Some of the material was covered in his Logic Pro X Absolute Beginner's course which I also highly recommend to anyone new (or not so new) to Logic. Anyway, enough babbling....

Great to hear and see some new things to learn, and shortcuts to make it easier to edit, and the chapters, was easy so I can start doing that. Thanks.

Was nice to watch a really useful refresher of Logic's audio tips, some of which i didn't know, and nice these were all to the point, no waffle. Hope MPV continue doing these FastTrack style tutorials. I just don't have time these days to sit through a complete 3 to 6hr+ mega tutorial. :D

I have been watching and studying many videos, mostly on music, from DAWs and recording, notation programs, music theory, jingles, music for movies, etc. This is my favorite, and the one I have found the most valuable. It is well laid out, well illustrated, and demonstrates many important points in an easy to understand manner. It also has many ideas to spur creativity.

Great Tutorial! For anyone using Logic Pro X, from beginner to expert, this course can definitely save you hours and hours of editing time. Knowing and utilizing the editing functions in Logic Pro X (or any other DAW) is the secret to getting things done. You are great in explaining the logic behind advanced production techniques in laymans language. Relating what you tell us to analog devices makes the whole experience more tangible. You are also very good in using a motivational language for beginners like myself. Great job!

I loved this course on creating your own Dubstep sounds in Massive. He has such a laid back teaching style and is extremely knowledgeable on Synth Sound Production. You could easily take these sounds and adjust them to fit your own unique style or other electronic styles.

A great introduction to recording vocals that gets you acquainted with some basic techniques. There could have been as much of an exploration into using plugins as there was of hardware. Overall, worth the time.
-Badmac Music
This was a very informative course. The presentation was clear and I've gained some techniques to lift me out of a very stiff period where my beats were a bit .. well, stiff. Thanks for such an excellent course! I can now use simpler to spice things up a bit.

-BPGeez
Nice tips! Thavius is very clear and easy to understand. I appreciate his teaching style. Makes me want to dive deeper into the "rabbit hole" of simpler on my own. Thanks! P.S. I couldn't figure out why putting clips in a chain was better than just copying them to a new track to trigger, assume efficiency savings?
-Jeremy M.
Matt Vanacoro always does a great job of explaining how to utilize the best features of every piece of software he uses. For anyone using Mainstage as their trusted live performance software, it got a heck of a lot better with version 3. If you have a newer macbook or macbook pro 2013-present, you are in good shape. An SSD flash drive is a plus and if your buying a new mac, get as much Ram as you can afford. Great video series!

Massive: Essentials
Apr 27, 2016
At first I was afraid, I was petrified of Massive. But after learning that all my favorite EDM producers swear by it to create their fat, crazy bass sounds, I decided to face my fears and tackle it head on. Thanks to Mo's wonderfully informative tutorial, I'm now able to find my way around this powerful synthesizer and already I'm making sounds that go "womp-womp" in the night! 5-stars!
-Badmac Music
Solid course, taught me a few new tricks and presented a new take on some known methods. Very clear explanations. Only missing the last star for the pace of the whole thing; the guy talks really slowly and plays more examples than he needs to. A good course to use Hyper Learn.
-Ian
Quick and to the point. its very easy to follow, the voice is a little bit fast in some parts but you can re-watch if you miss something. Handy information for the people who works a lot with logic.
-J.Guerrero
Great course, very informative. Good for someone with basic PT chops who's looking to improve their workflow speed and creativity.

These short tutorials about recent updates to software are among some of the most useful in MacProVideo for me. A quick and fun way of getting a heads-up about new features.
-Pecchan
It was OK - my excitement about ibooks as a medium for teaching was rekindled and there is a reasonable overview of the scope of ibooks author as a piece of software. I am not sure how much change there has been in iba over the last few years but the course certainly feels like it is ready for an update. And there are several sessions that end seemingly rather randomly and abruptly. So, in summary, I am happy enough that I've invested time in going through the course but it wasn't a wow experie...

Really loved this intro course - I'm excited to keep going. The content is great and I enjoyed spending so much time in Florence during the Renaissance. My one critique is that the caption bubbles were pretty distracting throughout the course. Other than that, really good stuff in here!

Very intriguing course. It's fascinating to see the powerful effect music has in creating mood. And even more fascinating to learn the basics of how it is accomplished. And most importantly, I believe this course is relevant to any composer, not just film composer. I took the course to get ideas for my composing tool kit and came away with a ton of great information and insights. Thanks for a job well done.

I took this course quite a few weeks ago. Downloaded the exercises, and actually practiced them! It forever changed my composition, and listening. Using my BFD3 drum virtual instrument gives me the lab needed to explore those rather complex polirythems. Priceless. Great course

Core Logic
Apr 11, 2016
This course is a must! Everyone who wants to start with Logic should take this course. A lot of examples, very well explained going in depth in every details. Great!
-Vaan
Really a useful course, very clear with many examples. I've really enjoyed it, it's a great way to start using the drummer editor in depth. Great!
-Vaan
Mathew is one of the best I ever heard; I am using Cubase 8 Pro for over a year and very coincidently happened to find one of his courses on YT but in a few hours today I learned more than in the past year. It is amazing what he knows about Cubase and how he is abe to explain this...never find such a guy...So Math really my compliments for your excellent job! You are the reason that I took a subscription on the Macpro material.

The best tutorial on the advance by a mile. Really comprehensive and imformative. Thanks so much !!!

Thavius does an excellent job of explaining and working with PUSH 2! Absolutely fantastic tutorial. I feel and second set of tutorial's with Thavius is warranted delving deeper into his knowledge and sharing his production techniques. A+

Interesting overview of this program. Left me wondering if Logic had ripped off the idea or licensed it. It seems to be much more advanced than Logic so Worth investing in.

Trap
Apr 2, 2016
Even though I produce house/tech house, I'm always interested to learn the techniques of other styles which I hope to use to inject difference in my own productions. I found this course to be informative and thorough. The track Adam uses to illustrate his concepts is so exciting and groovy, that I wondered if should switch to making Trap full-time. Glad I took this course - it's well worth the time. 5-Stars!
-Badmac Music
This is a good course because some of the mistakes show here, are sometimes in the mix also, and is a way to "Not to do in a mix". And also increase the knowledge about it.

Dubstep Production
Mar 26, 2016
Let me start out this review stating that this class is not for newbies to Ableton, recording or sound design in general. If you're new to Dubstep then you're fine. They aren't kidding when they say you should learn all of or say, most of the, ins and outs of Ableton. I would say I'm intermediate, but I felt like a total newb with this course. I could keep up, but it's a lot of info coming at you. At the end when he goes "it's not complicated" and I'm saying "maybe not on your planet." I wou...

Harmony
Mar 26, 2016
What a wonderful course! It's smartly laid out and the illustrations add a humorous angle that makes the lessons so fun. The audio examples are helpful to understanding the material by getting you to actually hear the sounds of the concepts presented. 5-Stars!

Produce and Perform
Mar 25, 2016
Very good tutorial on learning the Launch Pad Pro. Thavius is gives a very good and indepth look at getting started and working with the LPP.
-Chaeya
This is one of the best beginner course that one could find on Pro tools. The tutor is very structured and has ensured that his lessons are not lengthy, which I think is a great thought.
-Bharathram
A good course which reinforces the mastering process. Its easy to let slip the golden rules when mastering which makes this course important & worth reviewing from time to time to ensure you don't let slip the basic rules. Realising later that you forgot to adhere to the basics can be so anoying as you revisit spending valuable time redoing what you should have got right the first tme
-Dv8ter
So far, so good. Long Time user here, since 2.5. Just downloaded & Installed the Backline rig2 . Watched the 1st couple and very informative. Will continue because you always get tips and shortcuts - you might spend years before discovering when you muddle through some new software

Mastering in Cubase
Mar 24, 2016
My understanding of mastering process was rather messy until I watched this course. I still have a log way to go to successfully master my songs, but things are now clear and I am much more confident and willing to try. Excellent material and presentation.

Bill is hilarious! I have never laughed so hard while watching a tutorial. Good info and fun at the same time. I hope This is just Bill :-) You uncles pedal rig in gain staging is classic. Good info and tips that gets looked over often.
-Starfire
A wonderfully presented and detailed exploration that digs deep into the advanced functions of Final Draft. Matt's teaching style is engaging, and his deft use of humor holds your interest so that you'll find yourself glued to the screen, not wanting to leave till the very end. If you're serious about attaining a pro level understanding of this marvelous software, watch this. Now!

Dubstep Production
Mar 20, 2016
There are a lot of tips and tricks and ideas in this tutorial series. I'm not a dubsteb producer but got a lot of inspiration out of the tutorial. What I like most about this one is that it uses Ableton live (suite) only and it made me realize that it has everything I need. So I'm using the built in plugins and instruments more often now. Great tutorial for producers who work with Ableton Live!
-Great tutorial even if you don't
Another great tutorial by David Earl. Now that EW offers ComposerCloud, although I've bought individual libraries over the years, I'm excited to have access to all of the gold-level instruments, primarily in Logic. This was exactly what I needed to backfill some of my knowledge and plug the holes I've had in my Play kung fu for years (I admit it, I've dead-reckoned my way through the UI with a little forum troubleshooting). Looking forward to the subsequent courses. Besides knowing his s**t,...

Melody
Mar 18, 2016
I found the explanations and descriptions of scales, modes and melody construction very clear and the musical examples enlightening. This is basic stuff but it definitely improved my grasp of the essential material that it covers. Will go back to some lessons for ideas.
-Pejovoi
Even for a pro it's from time to time nice to look over another pro's shoulder. I enjoyed this course a lot. Maybe still you should tell students how important it is to filter out unneeded lows with a hpf on almost every instrument except maybe for bass instruments. This should be the first eq thing to do before they even think about cranking up the his and mids...Cheers, Thomas
-Thomas
Alchemy Explored
Mar 17, 2016
I've been following David Earl (not literally of course) a.k.a SFLogicNinja for many years and this course really does justice to his teaching skills. Alchemy is a monster, an intimidating synth which could quite easily overwhelm newbies and ultimately send many confused students packing. Enter Mr Earl. He breaks it down piece by piece, then slowly builds it back up again bringing all the knowledge together at the end with a fun sound design lesson. Where I feel many tutorials fail, is the endl...
-Andy Hodge
A very good overview which gives you enough information to start using the Mother-32 and start experimenting with it's patching possibilities. I thought some of the tutorials presumed a certain amount of knowledge about analog synthesis and moved fairly quickly but it can be followed along by pausing and reviewing the sections you might not grasp right away. It would be nice to see a more advanced course covering subjects like more advanced patching and interfacing with other gear, syncing with ...
-Ivan Dubinsky
This is a wonderful introduction to a program that when used correctly can be a screenwriter's best friend. Matt walks you through the most important functions to know when embarking on your first screenplay project. Even though I've been using Final Draft for many years, I still found Matt's tutorial packed with tips and new discoveries which have given me a deeper understanding of the software. 5 Stars!

Thavius Beck is a great instructor, very clear and concise. Highly recommended if you have just bought or are considering a LaunchPad Pro. Looking forward to more tutorials!

Fantastic series on mixing, thank you for introducing saturation into the mix workflow. Great information about reference levels in mixing.
-Nat Pike - Sonic Arts
Great course on the update, appreciated the info on what's been updated, great stuff that I can use in my work flow!!!

Great course on the update. Informative and illustrative, being easy to understand and take in!!!

This was an excellent series! Great audio examples and hidden gems throughout this course. Albano is a phenomenal teacher and I'll be watching more of his vids!! Good gig MacPro!!
-BPGeez
This course was everything that I look for in a course. It was very well organized and structured, and the concepts explored were very clearly explained with excellent examples. There was no filler; it was concise and to the point. Mr. Albano's courses should be required viewing for anyone interested in audio engineering or music production. He has a real aptitude for teaching.

Triumph: Explored
Mar 13, 2016
Hi Matt, I really enjoyed this tutorial. I used Wave Editor for a few months before purchasing Triumph so the big picture was understood. Thank you for creating a tutorial which fills in the blanks quickly and with ease. One might say your syllabus excels because it emulates the app's concise, logical and intuitive design. Nicely done and a pleasure to watch!
-Russell Szabados
good overview on how to record with dslr. But I am missing more examples of footage or different settings. also some recommendations on lenses or mics would be nice. An deeper explanation on how to use which setting to achieve the different looks with iso, exposure etc. looking forward to the next tutorial for lighting.
-n4Sphere
Love how Joe uses stock plug-ins to show the science behind the effects. He drops some real gems here including tips on how to use reverb as ambience - pure gold! Thanks Joe
-Young Dawg
Matt has such an easy listening voice. As someone who is new to Omnisphere, this course was a great overview. I'm glad that Matt scratched the surface of each section but didn't go too deep. I'll be looking for a more advanced course once I play around with Omnisphere on my own now.
-Brandon Peoples
Awesome course, I'm so excited to see analog gear getting some attention. Thank you!
-Jeffrey Mowery
This course is fantastic like the last in this series! Great teacher and great examples! Can't wait to check out the next one:) Good gig MacPro
-BPGeez
Excellent training. I am hoping the "next level" or "advanced" course will go much deeper. Especially on the "outputs" of the mixer -- that has been a bit frustrating and confusing to me. Excellent training -- very well worthwhile!
-Brian Keith Voiles
It was very informative... but I wouldn't call it "Advanced Scoring". It was fairly basic, beginner to intermediate level training. I learned a couple of things... but not a lot. I certainly wouldn't look at this training as "Advanced" though. Crystal clear instruction, good content, excellent flow from subject to subject -- just not "Advanced". Other than that... I loved it.
-Brian Voiles
A deeply thorough and detailed exploration into a program that has limitless potential. I enjoyed Matt's laid-back style of instruction and his enthusiasm for Battery 4. After watching this course I feel confident enough to explore the instrument on my own and create interesting sounds for my music. Highly recommend.

Acoustics
Mar 6, 2016
Joe Albano has done another great job in this course! He continues to make the subject matter completely understandable. Each step follows the previous one in a logical and paced manner. The course is comprehensive and no time is wasted on superfluous material. I highly recommend the course!
-Mike Henebry
This was a very good course , it goes into a lot of detail that I have not been able to find while trying to learn Eastwest, Thanks for creating the course I thoroughly enjoyed it

Harmony
Mar 4, 2016
I love this particular tutorial in the series. It explains the circle of fifths quite well and also chord progressions in a fresh and practical way.
-Anders
Definitely deserves 5 stars. Even though much of the workflow was not new to me I learned some new approaches and terms for techniques that I didn't previously. Absolutely essential if you haven't used orchestral sample libraries before.
-Anders
The Wind Section
Mar 4, 2016
A great series and I am eagerly awaiting new tutorials on this topic. My only complaint is that this tutorial was worded in a drier and more long-winded way compared to 101 Strings. It also spent a *lot* of time talking about wind acoustics and not as much about score reading or functionality. I still can't wait to see any new tutorials on this topic!
-Anders
The String Section
Mar 4, 2016
A great series and I am eagerly awaiting new tutorials on this topic. My only complaint is that 102 Wind Orchestration was worded in a drier and more long-winded way. It also spent a *lot* of time talking about wind acoustics and not as much about score reading or functionality. I still can't wait to see any new tutorials on this topic!

Prophet 6 Revealed
Mar 2, 2016
Let me start off by stating that I'm a complete newb when it comes to synthesizers and the principals of sythesis. My background is in guitars but the desire to try a synthesizer has always been there. Once I saw DSI had released the Prophet-6, I had to have it. Sure, it comes with a user guide which is probably sufficient for those familiar with the technology. For me, not so much. When I discovered your video, it was a Hallelujah moment. How anybody could unlock the capabilities of the P-6 wit...
-Scott
Great course. Everything you need to know about this wonderful piece of software.
-Hindie
Watching this, is the nearest you can get to a Master degree on conversion.
-Hindie
Another superb course in this series! The subject matter is covered thoroughly and succinctly. The dialog is not improvised (thereby wasting your time), but it doesn't sound like a school kid reading from a script either. The narrator sounds like he knows what he is talking about, cares about his craft and does a great job of "teaching." What else could you ask for? Okay, sure, Scarlett Johansen, but then would you learn anything?
-Mike Henebry
Master the Moog
Feb 28, 2016
Wow! I'm so glad I watched this. It really could not be any more clear and thorough. The teacher is spot on. Thank you!

Melody
Feb 24, 2016
It was really well explained, really enjoyed the modes explanation
-Jazzfreak55@gmail.com
I love the EAR series. Very inspirational. I don't have push or maschine, but there was still enough information and tips for me. It made me realize I don't need Maschine, I already have enough plugins and a very good Akai MPD32. I'm using that one way more often after watching this tutorial. Great tutorial!
- voices
I've learned some new tricks and sometimes it's good to review the way you work. And I found out I had some plugins that I didn't use. But after this tutorial I started using them with a very good result. It even made my mixes better.

Razor
Feb 23, 2016
A very good synth but sometimes a bit of a mystery. That's why I needed this tutorial. It gave me enough information to start using this great sounding synth. Very good tutorial.
- razor
Even for a non dubstep producer it's a very good way to see massive in action. It's still my number one go to synth but has a lot of features. So every tutorial is helpful. And this one is really practical. It's fun to see it in action, not only to know what every knob does. Great tutorial!
- massive
A very good strait forward tutorial. I made me understand the program and showed me some possibilities. Could use a follow up in the form of how to use the program in a production. But a very good tutorial never the less.
- session horns pro
I'm using RX3 a long time now, but I didn't use a lot of the tools build in. Which, after watching this tutorial, made me realize it was a shame. Now I'm using all the modules and work a lot faster and more accurate. I think this is the best way to learn the power of RX3.
- audio repair toolbox
A very in depth tutorial. Everything very good explained. And I learned a lot about real instruments and how to fake to make it sound real. And Peter had some great examples, what makes it easier to understand. Never new the harp had such a special tonal control!
- the midi orchestra
Battery 4 Detonated
Feb 23, 2016
If you want to get the most out of battery, you need this tutorial. It saves a lot of time to know the program. A very good, solid tutorial.

If you think about going on stage with a laptop and ableton, than this is the tutorial you need. Great and inspirational. Got some good idea's after watching this tutorial. It's really a different approach than the other ableton live tutorials.

Advanced Kontakt 5
Feb 23, 2016
If you are working with kontakt, it's very wise to watch this tutorial to get a better understanding of how it works. It's a very powerfull program and after watching this tutorial it's easy to create your own Kontakt instruments. Very good course!
- advanced kontakt
This was the best tutorial I watched so far. I like the idea of working with organized chaos. I need to make a lot of music for corporate movies and sometimes it's hard to find some good inspiration. Now I just start with the random buttons and harness it into beautiful music. A very inspirational course!
- harnessing chaos
I'm producing for quite some time now, but it's easy to use the same tricks over and over. This course showed me some different approach and that was very useful.
- mixing dance music advanced
Nice to have a light review of EQ's. For me it was refreshing. Nothing new for a pro, but good to keep your information fresh and see someone's perspective. Nice course!
- EQ mistakes
Wow, this was very inspirational. Learned a lot of new and fun techniques in Ableton. It definitely made me respect the "standard" plugins of the Ableton Suite. Normally I would rely on third party plugins but with these tricks you see the power of Ableton. Saw new tricks even though I'm working with ableton since version 2!
- deepchild
I started the series with this one. Gregg is so much a specialist, I soon understood I needed the other courses first to fully understand this one. I followed them all and enjoyed every one of them. Great in depth tutorial.
- chord progression
Basslines
Feb 23, 2016
This one was really helpful. It gave me way better understanding of how to create a good bassline and what a bassline is all about. Together with the chord progression the best of the series for me.
- basslines
Rhythm
Feb 23, 2016
First I thought I wouldn't need this course, but it still had a lot of useful information for me. It's very nice to watch the whole series. It made me make better music no doubt.

Harmony
Feb 23, 2016
I started this series with the chord progression, but needed some refreshment on the other parts. In the end I followed the whole music theory series. Very useful and a fun way to learn everything in depth. Sometimes the chords are still a mystery, but practice makes perfect.

Melody
Feb 23, 2016
I started this series with the chord progression, but needed some refreshment on the melody part. In the end I followed the whole music theory series. Very useful and a fun way to learn everything in depth.
-Melody
Great course, it really helped me understand the program. It's a fun program, but needs some explaining.
- Ruben
I like the way he made it simple but not for simpletons. I do have quite a bit of knowledge on this subject but still learned something and enjoyed the course
-Dennis Marcotte
Great tutorial. Very detailed with real world examples and creative approaches with RX beyond single plugin or defaults.
-Aaron Trimble
It's a nice overview. I learned about some tools I was not aware of. However, many of the repairs made just don't sound good. There is a lot left out and many techniques not discussed (order of processing, results of all parameters, more variety of problems to repair, algorithm specifics, etc.) There are also parameters that are skipped completely, such as de-reverb's negative values for enhancing rather than attenuating reverb. Still, it's a good introduction.
-Aaron Trimble
Logic Remote
Feb 22, 2016
Fantastic--concise, informative, fun. Great introduction to Logic Remote.
-Dave M
Excellent course! Very professionally done! It is not one of those courses that wastes a lot of your time by the teacher not being well-prepared. Here the monologue is direct, logical, and thoroughly understandable. The time is used efficiently. There are also many very helpful audio and visual aids and examples along the way. It's hard to imagine it being done any better!
-Mike Henebry
BLOCKS Explored
Feb 21, 2016
Excellent course from Matt again. Got a very good idea on Reaktor Blocks. Easy to follow and good examples show with many use cases. Thanks!
-Petri Rahja
Happy with most of the tutorials and some amazing sound design tips and tricks. Just a few tutorials are outdated as the older NI Kore is mentioned a few times, which perhaps only a handful of Kore users would understand, but the principles to how instruments are used and manipulated with Kore could be applied to something like the Maschine Software. All the other stuff involved follow up a treat and I'm glad I watch them all.
-Sound of Sine
This is the greatest music tutorial I have ever seen. It provides a key to unlock music for new students that no other tutorial has ever offered. Mr Guttman should do more tutorials, he is a fantastic teacher
-Evan
I would have liked to see some suggestions for which applications are best to use or the initial application along with the preceding applications to show where to go next.
-Christian
Great teaching, I've learned so much. This is one of the best tutorials i have watched. Thank you Matt
-David Senn
This guy has a great aura about him! You can definitely tell that he loves music and I def received some of that positivity! Besides that, there were some really solid tips throughout. Good gig MacPro!
-BPGeez
I absolutely LOVED this course. Makes me want to go back and redo past mixes as well as make new music to mix! Can't wait to take the next course. I just wish there was some time spent to address vocal mixing specifically. Also LOVED the instructor! I hope he does many more of these courses as he clearly has a GIFT for this. Can I give it 6 stars?

Excellent course that teach the foundations of Logic, teaching also those little details that are important for all the aspects in a recording session and music productions.

Really loved this course and learned a lot of very useful stuff. I was on Logic for years and knew it inside out, and switched to Pro Tools 11HDX 6 months ago almost to the day. Now i am on 12 HDX. I picked Pro Tools up very quickly and dove right in and already feel very comfortable and at home with it. I did another basic course on here an learned a lot of commands and other stuff on my own. Feb 12, 2016
Very nice video to watch. Very practical. The skill that I learn from the video can put to use almost immediately.
-szeleetan
Nice course to watch with some useful information. Some things about sound design and structure of a track, to analyze.
-Hindie
Very good and interesting video. If you are new to EDM, his unique songwriting process may help you to speed thing up. May watch it again.
-szeleetan
I'm glad I watched this video, I never really paid too much attention to the EXS24. As always Joe with his knowledge can make this instrument shine, I always wanted to use and revitalize the samples I had created with my old Roland S770, now I can. Thanks Joe for a very interesting video.
-Andre larose
This is one of the most useful and informative tutorials on this site, in regards to electronic music. Daniel is very clear, knowledgable and just shows you how to get things done well.

Great Series both the Basic and Advanced MIDI, For years I have worked with MIDI and both tutorials really filled in the missing information I needed to get my outboard keyboards hooked up properly in a MIDI wise way.
-pbennett777
Very informative and straight forward explanation of how to efficiently use Push
-Reality Engine
This is probably the best video course on mixing I've seen and the track I'm working on immediately sounded better using the techniques demonstrated.
-Philip
Really handy tips with a very good teacher, ive had Matt for other stuff like Facebook. One thing is that with the iPad tips, i do not have multi-tasking. Im not sure whim running IOS 9.2.1 thanks
-David Senn
Very American based but useful to review before setting up your studio. For professional studios I would get a well respected company to handle the whole process as no experience in any field will always introduce mistakes which can take time to analyse & expensive to rectify. With home studios try to get a professional to cast his ears on your creation as it always helps to get a second opinion that you respect.

This was a great course. Short, but covers an essential lot of information! Good gig MacPro!
-BPGeez
I am not a great reader and I do not routinely notate, however I wanted to at least learn my way around the score editor for those few times when I do need to create various types of notation. This is an excellent course and done in a very entertaining way. I also really liked the sounds that Peter uses in his (original) musical examples. Looking in to getting some of them myself.
-Rick Eagle
Great overview of the new functions of the new Logic Pro update.
-Michael MacDonald
Compression is such complex subject with a myriad of options with plugins & hardware that knowledge & help from experts is always useful to hear. It's one subject you can't get enough of.
-Dv8ter
I am a semi-advanced user coming from many years in Logic 9. This course has a lot of basics in it but I came away with some great tips and Peter Schwartz is my new favorite instructor. Clear, clever, entertaining and his musical examples are high quality in both composition and pure sound. The qualities do not not necessarily make the course any more educational but it definitely makes the journey more pleasant.
-Rick Eagle
Wow.Transitioning to Ableton has been difficult for me. There is so much that can be done with it, and learning the software has been overwhelming. I had no idea where to start. Thank you Bill and AskVideo. Thank you.
-Tybur
Helpful course to remind you not to forget to overdo eq & not to forget the basics.
-Dv8ter
Useful Course, one I think would benifit from watching more than once.
-Dv8ter
Amazing course and synth. So many under the hood features and tips on how to get the most out of it. Loved to watch and learn.
-Hindie
Solid overview of some of the fundamental aspects of compression. Good course to brush-up on compression concepts or gain an understanding if you are new to the topic. Good section on the different types of hardware compressors, their functions and their software counterparts.
-A Spooner
I think anybody who is either getting started or hasn't mastered compression needs to watch this series. These videos give a great ground for different ways to use this tool. Very, very well done!
-Chris
GREAT primer on reverb, delays, chorusing etc. Very useful for beginners or intermediate mixers wanting a quick refresher. Looking forward to watching the EQ version and hoping for more of these.

10/10! This course is a treasure-trove of information for dance music producers. Daniel Wyatt imparts detailed information in a clear and direct manner, getting straight to all the good stuff budding producers want to know.
-A. Spooner
Really good information and relaxed style I loved it. Wish he did one on R&b as well
-David Senn
Excellent course on mastering dance music using Ozone. Would recommend this to anyone interested in mastering dance music as the information here applies to mastering in general, not just using Ozone. Danny delivers quality information in an accessible manner. My one point to note when ABing examples e.g. Reverb, the bypass on/off of the audio example could have been left to run a little longer as the inexperienced ears might need a longer audio sample to compare when bypassing an effect.
-A. Spooner
Excellent tutorial. The presenter's pace and style is very relaxing and informative. Easy to follow along and apply what he's teaching.

Learn Sibelius in a practical way. I can not wait to take the Jazz band score. Thomas is breaking down in alogical way practical must have skills to master Sibelius. I took notes of short cuts that I associated with Sonatina . soem of the segments I watched more than once to master them. I feel confident that my knowl...

This is one of the best tutorials I've seen in a long time. Daniel Wyatt has a very concise manner of teaching. He is very descriptive and explains fully, how to use the advanced techniques in his tutorial. The main thing I liked about the mixing tips, is that they were not same, repetative tips we see in many, many tutorials online. I learned a lot of things I've never heard of. The ones I knew of, went even deeper, and gave me a whole new set of skills to get my music to sound more advance...

I have watched most of Gregg Fines tutorials. They are good, though I am not a fan of his delivery style nor graphics. This course, however, really opened my ears (even though it suffers the aforementioned irritations). He develops the construction of chord progressions in a perfectly logical manner, but more than that, for each example progression he demonstrates, even though they are just piano, you can hear the hits that have been made with these progressions. The theory he gets into could be...

Really worthwhile - the series addressed several optimization issues that are pure gold, the only other way you would ever get to know them is by putting in the same amount of time as Peter has had working in this area. There is so much that can be done to squeeze every last drop of CPU and RAM from your system. He also provides a great introduction to Vienna Ensemble Pro and why it is useful. It is kind of funny, the course is called designing templates, which is only a small part of the syllab...

Short and to the point. Mr. Guttman addresses practically every question the novice would want to know (how to create mood using harmony, using rhythm, using combinations of instruments) and demonstrates these techniques succinctly and surprisingly easily, that is, with a bare minimum of instrumentation. This more than anything really helps the student focus in on the concepts rather than feeling burdened or overwhelmed by a massive score. Very inspiring! I really liked the use of simple still ...

This is a nice little introduction to Motion 5, giving you a quick overview of the interface and its related areas. It might be just enough to get your feet on the ground, show you some of the differences from previous versions of Motion. Score to Picture
Jan 12, 2016
This course covers the basics of importing video and working with it in Cubase. Personally I found the chapters dealing with basic midi sequencing rather pointless as the basics of Cubase are taught in other videos. Instead, it would have been nice to have had information about advanced ways to use, for example, hit points and more detailed tempo maps. So you might find yourself fast-forwarding a section or two, but the basic information presented is still valid, of course.
-Pecchan
For aspiring sound designer, this is definitely a must watch course. It outlined the basic of sound recording, sound design and several advance techniques which is easily implemented. Hope to learn more sound design course from Timo. I'm looking for it. Two Thumbs Up !!!

I've owned Ozone for awhile (versions 5 & 6), and have used some of the presets on my mixes. They sounded great, but I knew something was missing. Two things seemed mysterious to me about mastering: the order of the chain of processors, and the order in which you should work with each processor to polish your master. Daniel's course addressed both of these EXPLICITLY, and it made much more sense to me afterwards. Using his method, I went back and remastered something that I did prior to the co...

Another great video series from David Earl "SFLogicNinja". Even if you are a working professional, using Logic Pro X daily, you can still learn a lot from this course... A few things have been updated in 10.2 since this was released. But don't let that stop you from getting your mind blown. Propellerhead should take note of how J is able to make so much seem so clear without going off track or getting bogged down in too much detail. I am new to Reason and it is my first DAW. Very clear and precise. It would have been great to have some kind of excercise files (or maybe the sound samples Joe is using) to be able to practice while watching but for some reason MacProvideo doesn't´ provide them in most of their courses. OK, I guess, if you're into highly processed EDM. It's always better, IMHO, to create tutorials using real-world musical instruments and vocals because people know what they are supposed to sound like.

Good informative course. Even without owning the software the course is useful. It does however create the desire to have Ozone in your toolbox.
-Dv8ter
Thanks you. very helpful course, this will silve a lot of issues with timing for my live recordings. Looking forward to trying out these tecniquues
-Micko
Daniel Wyatt is a fantastic instructor, and provides a fantastic look at Ozone 7. It's a great look the tools available for mastering, and some very effective ways in which they can be used. Although this doesn't course really give a clear picture of the process/headspace of mastering, it does present a very clear idea of the balance of the tools that are commonly used, and provides great audio examples. Absolutely worth the watch!
-Patrick
Another great course by Mathew, he really is so precise in his description. This has helped me a lot with my knowledge of Cubase.
-Micko
This course was so helpful to me. I was totlly in the dark about the powerful midi editing capabilties of Cubase until I took the course. 10 out of 10 for attention to detail.
-Micko
Great course, very indepth, I learned a lot from it. A lot of functions were covered here and I fell better equipped to use Cubase going forward.

Mastering Toolbox
Dec 17, 2015
I found the video to be in-depth while relating to practical usage of the various plugins and usage of the tools. I also felt that this program was focused on a go-to approach with specific plugins but also stressed to fact that using mix references is essential which I feel is also very important. It was presented in a very systematic way for both entry level to more advanced users. Well done!
-GBG
This is definitely the best training course on Logic Pro X on the internet. Interesting. Clear. Well-explained. Great teacher!

I really like the presenter's voice and style of presentation. Very understandable and easy to grasp.

I was an Ableton Live user for quite a while and I switched to Logic because of massive amount of things it comes with (sounds, samples, presets, features, plug ins, ect) and this little course helped me move back into my comfort zone with producing. I felt lost without Live and I tried watching tutorials for beginners on youtube but none of them were actually for beginners lol. This course really gave me the foundation I needed to start really learning this program and I'm very glad I took it

Excellent. Wish I could view more tutorials by this Chris Butcher!
-Martian Cocian
Incredible depth and detail, explained in a pleasantly simple and comprehendible structure. Thank you :)
-Innocent Muisha
The course does what it says... Gives a nice overview. I wish there were more specific Cubase courses for electronic music. Or courses that beyond the "how to" into more advanced techniques.
-Beaucrat
Very nice delivery and an acceptable pace. Jim went through some basic concepts and build them up to a workable rate.
-JC Veille
Simple, to the point, entertaining, and a great real-life example of how to set up a recording of a song, perform digital editing techniques, and pull the mix together. Highly recommended!

This is super informative and really helped with some of the big questions I had, like how on earth am I going to learn what articulations to use and how to use them in a DAW and how to set up a template. If you are a Cubase user I'm afraid you are out of luck. There is no mention of it and as Logic, Pro Tools and Ableton Live are all covered, it seems a bit slack to leave it out considering it's well up there along with the other most popular DAW's. Let's face it, Hans Zimmer uses it! Having s...

I truly enjoyed this course and I worked alongside Olav as he explained things. I used to be very intimidated by Ableton, but not anymore. Olav is one of my favorite teachers on here. Great job!
-Chaeya
This was the third tutorial by Olav that I've watched and I really enjoy his teaching style. He goes slow and gives you enough details so that you can begin working right away.
-Chaeya
I found this course to be an accurate description of the different styles of dance music. It was nice to see them broken down and all of the details explained with a little history thrown in.
-Chaeya
Entertaining, engaging, and thought provoking! I fully enjoyed this course, thank you Peter Schwartz! The instruction is top-notch, and the music used for examples is tasteful and enjoyable. The corny jokes are great, too--if you're into that sort of thing.
-Darin Martineau
Enjoyable course with a simple but effective approach to the mix. It's nice to see things that are not over complicated. Unfortunately video 24 - Lead reverb cuts off before it finishes. That would be worth fixing.

Good tutorial review highlighting the perks of EWQL Play Engine and it's libraries in practical applications: 1. Ra, 2. Ghostwriter, 3-4. Ministry of Rock 1 & 2, and 5. Pro Drummer. Some minor improvements: I found 'microtuning' was not explored enough' A more indepth review about 'Microtuning' feature found in RA and how it affects the patches would be appreceated (I couldn't distinguish it when I used it on some patches?). Secondly, another improvement would be providing 16-32bar sample sess...

This video series give you a good overview of a workflow in NI machine. It is a bit dated now since he is using Machine 1.8, and a lot of the things he is complaining about have been altered in newer versions of the software. Since a specific version of the hardware is mentioned in the title, I was hoping for a more hardware focused workflow, but he is mousing to much for my tastes.

A great rundown of the instruments, notes and harmony used to create modes in film scores.

New Features
Nov 29, 2015
A good overview of the new features in Ableton Live 9.5. All features and devices are of course demonstrated on their own, but they are also demonstrated in a musical context.
-Trond D
I liked the course and I can say I learned new things and it reinforced some things I had previously learned. I would not, however, describe it as a "101" course. It is more of a sampler course. Tammy introduces various concepts but does not delve far into any of them. She could have broken this into 3-4 more in-depth courses. Perhaps she will?
-Beaucrat
My only experience with digital recording was using Garageband. Having recently upgraded to Logic Pro X and using it for the first time, I realized that I was in way over my head. A tutorial for the absolute beginner was what I needed. This course is a general overview of main features of Logic Pro X. I really liked that it explained to me what the different buttons where for, where they were at, provided keyboard shortcuts, etc. The presenter speaks with a clear voice and proper pace and e...

Daniel walks the wievers through a solid workflow, and gives very good advice about how to approach mixing and how to structure and set up your mix. But in the videos he doesn't always follow his own advice. At one point he shows a limiter on a track which adds about 4 db of volume, but the meters on the plugin tops out at about -4 to -2 db. So the limiter doesn't actually do it's job (limit the level of the sound), it only adds volume. At other times he does the same kind of thing with comp...

Glad I came across this course. While some knowledge on theory was familiar to me, was amazed at how much I didn't know. This course will lead me to more independent study, which is much needed. Glad this one jogged the old brain on the importance of theory!
-Excellent videos!
This one really stands out, both teacher and tutorial. It was a pleasure watching and listening.

This is an exquisite course. It succinctly guides you through all of the critical aspects to setting up complex yet optimised sample orchestral templates. It has genuinely saved me months of time otherwise having to read a large book on the subject; and has revolutionised my workflow. Simply exquisite.

This course opened my eyes to how robust the EastWest libraries are for composers. David Earl is an outstanding instructor going through the libraries on a guided tour and explaining how they can apply to a variety of music in any composition. His pace is great for beginners who want to know the ins and outs of the graphical user interface of PLAY. I enjoyed all the libraries in context with the compositions David shared at the end of the course. I am hoping he will create a course going more...

Such a useful Tutorial course. I have just signed up for Composers Cloud Complete because I needed some Instruments I don't yet own and this tutorial got me straight up to speed for working with EW Play. I am now watching the 103 Tutorial on Specific Libraries by Eastwest. Great stuff. Showing it with Cubase would have been helpful.

Peter Schwartz is THE expert at notation using Logic (and he's NOT deadly-dull). He doesn't just take you through the various features one by one -- he shows you the best way to get things done quickly (sometimes counter-intuitively), knowledge that can only be gained through long experience with the program and craft (unless you have the benefit of this course, in which case you just shaved a couple of years off your learning curve). If you want to get the most out of Score Editor, please take ...

A great course. Diego has a passion for what he does and this comes through. Lots of great ideas to help you break away from the more common techniques. It has given me a drive to get experimenting with different ways of recording, processing and gathering sounds. As Diego would say, it all starts with your imagination.

In the course of my watching these tutorials I'd heard of some of these short cuts/key commands mentioned, it was great to go through them here and sort it all out. Many notes taken, but requires actual work on keyboard to engrain them into my tiny brain! Well done. While I think of it, is there a way to take automation that's been created and invert it? For example, if you've carved out automation on a track (delay, vol, etc.) and then want to apply the opposite controls on another track. S...

Recording Strings
Nov 3, 2015
Piggybacking off of what Spence mentioned about swapping seats and altered tunings (which can cause their own set of issues) is to have the players do one pass with mutes on and another pass where any vibrato is removed and played straight. This really helps to define parts and add texture without the issues of tuning being skewed.

Hi Matt, Great tutorials as always. Just a quick thing about the DrumLab Midi Transposing tutorial. A good course, but all the Photoshop courses on MacProVideo seem to have the same problem - that is, they follow a linear teaching path rather than a pyramidal one. In this case, that means an exhaustive discussion of selection, and a little on masks, but with not much explanation of the context in which they are used. How do layers work? How do masks work? It would be much better to give a high level view of the forest rather than exhaustively following a few paths to some particular leaves ...

An excellent tutuorial,by Joe. I bought Gravity, recently, and this tutorial gives a really good insight as to how Gravity works. Joes approach is very good, explaining, in detail each step of the way. Joe demonstrates, how Gravity, can be used,in a couple of instances. For me, I make ambient music as a hobby, and Gravity is perfect for my needs. This tutorial really helps me to get to grips, with Gravity and its inner secrets,he,he Can't wait to use Gravity in my new work.

Beginner's Guide
Sep 29, 2015
So I'm 64, a programmer since the early '80s and almost a year-old Ableton user. I'm too smart to take Bill Burgess's intro to Live 9. Not! He is so low-key, but understands things so well that I'm inspired on every lesson. He's a wonderful teacher!
-Danny Kotcher
Good, DTE, Honest approach to makig your usic sound good with all the aparatus that ableton give you. great work
-Kirby
Great tutorial - covers a lot more than just drums, there's loads of information on sampling and modulation. This one and the beginner's guide to Ableton are the two essential courses in my opinion. After that, you can pretty much learn the rest on the fly.
-colinxy
Clear, straight forward and wonderfully produced with great examples.
-Eric Freeman
Great course that helped to improve my images. Andrew is explaining the tools with lot of passion. Thank you

Thanks Matt, a great teacher! Was very good course would recommend.
-Peter Manthorpe
I thought this video series was excellent! Really enjoyable and inspirational! I don't think this would necessarily help 'beginners' because it really does assume you already have a grasp on a lot of foundational things and moves at a quick pace, but I don't think this is a negative, just something to be aware of. Hope to see some more videos with Diego Stocco! :D
-Ben
Motion 5's updates are well explained in this to the point tutorial, kudo's!!!
-Technikality
could not stop watching - this was sensational - not a second of time wasted - Olav should teach others how to do software tuts, he's amazing. give us more Olav please.
-harry martin
A lot more to this update than I'd previously known. Especially the midi and record settings, as well as the more obvious but none the less exciting addition of Alchemy. A great synth indeed!

-Ruslan Polusotsky
Great course with great starting points for sound design. Here you'll find some ways of bringing sound design to your music too. More on this subject is always welcome.
-Hindie
Another excellent synthesis course by Rishabh. Even if you don't have Logic, you will add to your knowledge of synthesis by watching this course. Rishabh's style is clear, easy-to-understand, yet detailed and in-depth. Thank You
-A Spooner
I really enjoyed this course, and I am eager to see what other topics Booker has covered in the realm of audio production. He speaks in a very simple and clear language that is not condescending, and although I am not familiar with his work, he filled me with confidence that he is an actual professional musician.
-Brian Krock
Fantastic tutorial. This tutorial may be brief, but it's jammed full of some brilliant and inspiring ideas for getting unique sounds. An absolute must-watch for anyone into creative sound design.

Well done!!

Great tutorial and very informative. But the instructor tried too hard to be funny, which keeps me from rating it 5 stars, otherwise it's a great, great course.

This is an incredibly thorough introduction to Alloy 2, covering the basics of mix processing and loads of tips and tricks as well. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get the most out of Alloy 2.

I've thoroughly enjoyed these Motion 5 tutorials. They are clear and concise and I now feel competent using the software. Thanks!
-Ben
Well explained, and to the point. Good introduction, well appreciated

Thanks a lot Mr Earl for this excellent course. This is a perfect introduction in the world of creating music for games. I am looking forward to some others discussing in detail topics such as complete workflow or advanced techniques (mixing, mastering, bouncing). And by the way, the loop you just created for this course is really great ! :-)

WordPress Basics
Sep 11, 2015
Lots of good information here but as a WordPress video it's out of date. There is still relevant information regarding the general principles of WordPress, but if you are wanting to follow along with the current version of WP you're out of luck. Minus one star here. Presenter is clear and goes into good detail about the features and usage of WordPress, but overall the course spends too much time on areas and programmes that are extra to WordPress e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop etc. Minus one star ...

Great Course! Beginners and Advancers; Fundamentals are key with dealing with audio in any field so, I recommend this to anyone in the audio world.
-J Rive
Great tutorial. I learnt more here than I did taking Web Design classes in college. The examples are detailed, in an ordered and clear manner. I love that the trainers provide information about the background for certain aspects of HTML usage. I find this helps in understanding why things are done the way they are. Looking forward to the next course in the series.

Great introductory overview of HTML and CSS. Clear, concise and easy to understand - even if you have no prior knowledge of HTML/CSS. Looking forward to the next course in the series.
-A Spooner
Great course, and really great instruction. I'm a total beginner musician and the material is conveyed in a very understandable and useful manner. Also, really impressed by Jordan's mad piano skills. My only issue is a bit of motion nausea from the aerial view :-)

Greg Fine is one hell of instructor. His tutorials are extremely wealthy in content and easy to follow. I don't care what he teaches, ill always be eager to learn from him.
-OG Kyle Dawson
This is probably the best course I've seen so far! It's not entirely focused on learning Logic's functions itself, but how to complete common mixing tasks in logic while using some of the features most commonly used in any mix. David explains how to go about a mix very well and I highly recommend this course!
-Bhuffy
Great way to introduce Traktor to beginners. This course explained everything thoroughly and very clear. Must have if you are trying to learn Traktor basic's 101

Hooked on Racks!
Sep 7, 2015
I watched this course after watching the course on Drum Racks, so it felt like a continuation and I was able to keep up with what the instructor was doing. I know it became rather challenging towards the end, but I just watched those tutorials twice and was able to follow.
-Hooked on Racks
I really appreciated the fact that he took his time and explained things very well. By the time the course ended, I felt very comfortable enough with it.
-Exploring Drum Racks
Great job on explaining the basics! Now I would like to see a tips and tricks tutorial.

Make EDM
Sep 6, 2015
This course is simply wonderful! Ok, for the courses which explain all the features that a software has but it's another thing to learn those features in a "near" real workflow when you understand how to change a sound using the tools that the software has, getting exactly the result you are striving for. Really cool, and really inspiring. Thank you Rajan, really good work. Giuseppe
-Giuseppe
This is a quick introduction course to Premiere Pro in a nutshell that shows you visually some of the core functionality of the software. Michael Wohl does a great job as always presenting you with the basics in an easy to get manner. If you want to save yourself reading the manual too much and would like to know how Premiere Pro is organized and works - watch this course and start editing your already imported footage within an hour.

First foray into Alchemy now that Apple jammed it into the Logic bundle (wow). Always enjoy SFLogic Ninja (or David Earl, whatever...) and his tutorials. Great stuff. Ready to dive in now.
-Craig Koller
Great stuff! Learned a lot! It will probably take me a few years before I master this kind of ''finger work flow'' but this course really inspired me to start practicing! Cheers!
-Luke
This had very clear explanations and thoroughly showed how Logic's signal flow works including everything from the basics of sends, busses, and auxes all the way to entering the environment to set up input channels. I enjoyed this course very much and would definitely recommend it to others. Thanks!

Creating Titles
Aug 30, 2015
I have found the Basic Title Tool that is built into Media Composer to be just enough to be able to construct nice and professionally looking lower 3rd's and other titles on screen. It is fast and flexible and very easy to use. Your titles become immediately available within a bin of your choice right in your project, ready to be edited in straight to your timeline. For animated titles or 3D objects and text, you are going to have to try the other flavor of titler called the Marquee Tool. Overal...
-Zahari Schtonov
Larry is very entertaining and knowledgeable. The course is a few years old now in an area with a lot of progress. So some of its a bit dated, yet still some good info to be had.
-Richard
Great overview of the latest features in Logic, a great start to diving in and having a fantastic time doing what i love to do!
-Babz
Great review of Media Composer 6 to keep you up to date with the numerous new and exciting changes within the application. Working with workspaces to increase your workflow speed, the new Smart Tool, and native support of Apple ProRes codec are some of the topics, just to name a few. The course ends covering 3D Stereoscopic concepts and editorial, correcting color and convergence issues, and exporting the stereoscopic clips.
-Zahari Schtonov
Organizing your footage while importing it for editorial is a crucial part of a successful workflow and completion of any project. This course teaches you all the important steps and considerations to take so you keep everything under control. It starts you from creating your user profile if you don't have one, setting up your project format, bin management, the different ways to look at clips and sorting them out plus some more advanced options. Then it actually takes you through the importing,...

The Media Composer 6 103 - Advanced Editing Techniques is an excellent course that gets into some really efficient methods operating the software and manipulating your edits. What I have found especially useful were all the trimming modes explained and demonstrated. The variety and precision with which Media Composer does all these editing operations are mind-bending and it is this stuff that separates AVID from the rest of the NLE's out there. Take this course if you want to move from basic to ...

Straight to the point and as always very informative. I was hoping I wasn't going to have to spend 30 minutes just to get to the point of the update. Another great job macProVideo.

Alchemy Explored
Aug 29, 2015
I would say this is a good overview of an amazing new creative tool in Logic. David Earl is obviously enjoying himself as he explains (and plays with) all the various functions of Alchemy. This tutorial definitely has enough info to get you going although it would be really nice to see a more in-depth course showing all the features in greater detail as Alchemy has so much going on it definitely warrants it. Well worth checking this one out, though, if you plan on using Alchemy!!
-Ivan Dubinsky
Très alléchant ! Merci bien
-Chevalier D'Aour
With the many paid and free tutorial sites on the internet difficulty arises determining value. With free video one watches someone perform what you could do yourself through trial and error, and I suppose familiarity is gathered. Paid sites such as this can offer a personal perspective of a tip or technique from the author of a product or skill not found in a walk through video. Rarely do I watch a video and the author has made a mistake and then explains the steps to rectify the situation. The...

Great introduction to Logic 10.2. I'm extremely excited about being able to load .wav files and samples into the Drum Machine Designer. This was long overdue. Overall, the video was a wonderful introduction.

I find that this course is a good one for the beginner Ableton Live 9 user. It kinda gets ya in the flow of things inside Ableton!!!

This is a pretty good description of SFX Layering. It seems to be a good starting point for a Layering Course!!!
-Eric Lewing
Nice intro to the new features. I'm hoping more advanced insight in the next weks. Than you.
-Hindie
I like these nice and short "What's new". You wanna know what's in this release, but you do not have a lot of time. After taking this, you know where to dig. Nice and efficient.
-Kim Ginnerup
As usual, a wonderful walkthrough from Steve H. Thanks! Short, but to the point.
-Sebastian Nässén
I have been using The Mouth for a couple of years, but not really knowing what I was doing. I did get some good results in the past, however this course has been great in helping me understand how this plugin actually works, so now I will be able to use it on a much deeper level. Likewise, I also look forward to getting better results with The Finger too! Thanks for this course!

Killer Sound Design
Aug 27, 2015
Fantastic! Inspiring and enjoyable on so many levels. Timo showed us all a wide variety of techniques that can lead to many joyful hours exploring both sound design potential and arrangement setups. I learned more about signal routing as a creative medium than I have during many other efforts (by book or video).
-Koma49
So good to hear your voice Steve. You are still my favorite trainer and without a doubt, one of MPVs MVP!

I my self is an absolute beginner. :P And so from an absolute beginners view, it was the perfect course to me! Nothing to advanced was introduced and everything was well explained.

Good overview of midi capabilities in Studio One 2 Professional. Gary's cockney accent can sometimes be annoying to someone who doesn't speak proper English.

Fantastic! I learned more than the book used for the Logic certification class, and I can also get access to a lot of other great courses. The content was clearly thought out and thanks for the course!
