Hi Scott,
Neat article. Just wanted to point out that you can also create a wireless network using only your laptop using internet sharing. It works even if you aren't connected to the internet. System Preferences > Sharing > Internet Sharing. Select "Share your connection from" - Ethernet. Then check "To computers using" - Airport. Clicking on Airport Options will allow you to give your network a name and a password. Once this is all set up, you should be able to connect to this network with your iphone, etc.
Thanks for this great info! Looks like I need to hit the app store. :)
Cheers,

You're correct, Ed. However, that network will have a limited range compared to using the Airport Express. That's why I went that route. But, for smaller areas, you can definitely use the method you outlined.

Great tip about bringing an airport express not the road with you! That's thinking ahead ...

Are you touring that Beatles presentation to Vancouver anytime soon?

All I need is a great venue that's interested in booking me. (And is willing to pay my travel!) If you have any ideas, please let me know.
