Electronic Pioneer Morton Subotnik to Feature in Synth Nights Series in New York
Rounik Sethi on Fri, February 6th 0 comments
If you're a fan of noise-based electronic music and love experimental live performance then you probably know of Morton Subotnik. If you haven't been introduced to his pioneering work here's a treat.

Subotnik will be performing his new multimedia piece 'From Silver Apples of the Moon to a Sky of Cloudless Sulphur: V in collaboration with Berlin-based visual artist, Lillievan at The Kitchen in New York City on 4th March 2015.

Classicalite report that 'his new piece uses musical resources from his analog recordings combined with recent electronic patches and techniques to create a virtual instrument, while Lillevan, similarly, performs instinctively with his visual resources, old and new.'

Now of course, we understand only a small number of you reading may not reside in New York (myself included). So, this news story provides us all a fantastic excuse to sit back and listen to Morton Subotnik's performance of Silver Apples of the Moon from 1967 instead, which coincidently is features a Buchla synth.
