Although you can modify the look of Ableton Live, it’s light to medium greyness is distinctive. But light gray, while all the rage a few years back, has been steadily replaced in favor of a darker GUI in other creative software. Apple’s Logic Pro X is a prime example. Here’s version 9 vs 10 below and Adobe’s Creative Suite has gone the same way too.
And now, Vlad Shagov has been busy reimagining what Ableton Live could look like in a darker future. His concept interface changes have not only caught the attention of Facebook, but also of at least one Ableton employee who is following Vlad’s Dribble page, and who we’re assuming is in the Ableton design department.
As Vlad says: “I know that Ableton Live's interface is already simple and flat. But I was trying to make it look even more clean.”
Whether his designs will make their way into the next version of Live X or not… we don’t know. But one thing is for sure, Facebook are really digging these new designs first created and shared back on September 18th.
