We all like free audio plug-ins... and free plug-ins that are high-quality even more! So, do yourself and favor and go download iZotope's DDLY dynamic delay plug-in while it's free. It is good.

Last week to celebrate their 15th birthday iZotope re-released an old classic, Vinyl, with a new feature and compatible with more plugin formats. This week, they have another special giveaway for us: DDLY.

Until March 10th you can pick up the new iZotope delay plg-in DDLY for free (normally $49.00). In their words, iZotope describe DDLY as “a one-of-a-kind effects plug-in that delays the signal differently depending on the character of the sound, without turning your track to aural mud. Adjust the threshold to split your signal based on transients, then send it down two separate analog or granular delay paths.

Get a cleaner, more complex sound than a traditional full-signal delay plug-in with DDLY!”

In short it’s a delay plug-in that creates interesting delays based upon the track’s musical dynamics. One irregularity with DDLY is you're not able to save presets inside the plug-in. We don't know why this is, but it means iZotope provide some cool DDLY recal sheets as PDFs.

iZotope DDLY is available to download for free until March 10th 2016.

This is an awesomely creative and functional audio plug-in. There’s absolutely no reason on earth you shouldn't download this now…. So, don’t delay, grab it now! (excuse the pun!)

Might be worth noting that this seems to be a 32-bit plug-in. That meant that I had to convert it to 64-bit with JBridge to get it to show up in Ableton 9.5. At least that was my experience.(Although I did get some cryptic error messages when running the installer). If anyone else had a different experience I'd be interested to know. It did work just fine after converting to 64-bit.

I just looked at the specs for this and it indicates that it includes 32 and 64 bit versions, so maybe my problem was unique to my system. Oh well.
