Saturation is a great effect to use when producing EDM as it is able to impart warmth and character to pretty much any sound, especially when strapped across a whole mix. Beginning with the classic PSP MixSaturator 2, Olav demonstrates how this simple but powerful plug can be used to really punch up your sound with its virtual tape and valve tools when applied across a master output. VintageWarmer 2, also from PSP, is up next followed by Softube's free Saturation Knob plug-in. Then there's FabFilter's Saturn, with a plethora of algorithms including guitar amps as well as more classic tape models.
