Music Studio Essentials: How to Connect Your MIDI Hardware
Rounik Sethi on Sat, July 4th 1 comments
Ever been confused about how to connect your MIDI hardware? Don’t sit scratching your head, Booker Edwards Jr. shows how to get the physical connections in place for a simple MIDI setup.

If you’re like most of us, you’ve got a rack full of MIDI devices and keyboard synths that have been collecting dust from not getting enough use.

In his latest course, Logic expert Booker Edwards, shows you how to awaken your sleeping hardware, hook them all up and get all their awesome audio into Logic and back into your productions.

Here’s a really helpful video for those new to the world of MIDI hardware and those troubleshooting MIDI connections to enable you to get your hardware setup, in this case a MIDI controller, an AKAI MPK 25, and the MIDI instrument, a Yamaha Motif-Rack ES.

Then Booker shows how to make the audio connections from the audio out on the Motif to Logic Pro X via an Apogee Duet.

If you find this video useful, you’re going to love the complete course: Logic Pro X 113: External MIDI Basics. Well worth checking out.

It would be great if there is another video on this subject using other Hardware keyboard Workstations such as the Korg Kronos as well as using the Envirorment in Logic Pro X!
