The Ableton Live Suite quietly includes a whole new range of powerful Max for Live devices. Learn to get creative with some of the most interesting M4L effects and instruments in this course by certified trainer Noah Pred!
Born of a cooperation between Ableton and Cycling '74 (the developers of the Max visual programming platform), Max For Live includes a collection of very inspiring devices. Thankfully, you don't have to program in the Max/MSP environment to use them. In this course, producer and certified trainer Noah Pred gives a deep tour of some of the most inspiring ones...
After explaining how to download and install the Live packs needed to follow along the course, Noah dives deep into the revamped set of Drum Synth modules. You learn to build the foundation of a track, tuning your kick, shaping your snare and clap, and tweaking all elements of your drum kit to taste. With a solid drum pattern recorded, Noah moves on by covering the Bass and Poli synth devices in detail. Next, Noah reveals how the M4L modulation devices will open up a whole new world of interactivity between any elements of your Live project. The course concludes with a look at the Echo and Convolution Reverbs devices.
So sit down and "max"out your M4L devices knowledge in this 25-tutorial course by trainer and producer Noah Pred!
I’ve used Ableton live for a few years, but haven’t spend much time digging into Max. I learned a bunch of really useful stuff from this and got a lot more comfortable with Max in general. Would definitely recommend this. I’ll definitely be making use of a lot of what I learned.
