Joe has been a huge help - thanks! As I use this new version (for me) I find new things I don't know! - How do you mark the STOP point at the end of a song? The old version had a left-facing arrow in the timeline that you could slide to any point you wanted playback to stop scrolling. I don't see it in this version. In play mode, the tracks just keep advancing well after the last recorded section as ended. - Quick check - When you join sections of a track where you have deleted some areas, it DOES join them with the proper timing, right? (Won't move the separated sections around?) - Is there any guide that explains what each of the many effects does and how/when to use them? Would be an incredible book for someone to publish if not already! Thanks! T

Hi Tom - Again, you're most welcome! I'm glad this forum is proving helpful.. :-) - The left-facing arrow should still be there.. If the track keeps playing it's probably just way off to the right—if you scroll to the right as far as you can go if should become visible, peeking out from under [just to the right of] the zoom slider. - Yes, when you join tracks the timing of the resulting [audio] file should be identical, with blank space filling in any gaps. - The FX [plug-ins] in GB are [sometimes simplified] versions of the ones in Logic, so the Logic Pro X Effects eBook manual might be helpful [although it will refer to additional controls that may have been simplified/eliminated from the GB versions of the same plug-ins]. https://books.apple.com/us/book/logic-pro-x-effects/id960808317 We also have a series of courses that cover those Logic plug-ins/FX—same caveat, but the material on the principles of operation and applications would apply just as well to the [simpler] GB versions.. https://www.macprovideo.com/course/apple-logic-pro-x-201-the-eqs-and-filters?afid=E470KLQ7r9 https://www.macprovideo.com/course/apple-logic-pro-203-logics-compressors?afid=E470KLQ7r9 https://www.macprovideo.com/course/apple-logic-pro-204-the-modulation-plugins?afid=E470KLQ7r9 https://www.macprovideo.com/course/apple-logic-pro-206-the-delay-reverb-plugins?afid=E470KLQ7r9 https://www.macprovideo.com/course/apple-logic-pro-205-the-distortion-plugins?afid=E470KLQ7r9

Thanks again Joe. I found the arrow - it was just hard to grab without something else popping up! Of course, as I go deeper I have new questions for you. Is there any way to delete the 100's of loops that I do not want? I can't find where they are stored on my iMac so I can delete individual ones. Is there a way to add in a measure of odd time, say 5/4 in a 4/4 song, when using the Drummer feature, and still keep the drummer on beat at the start of each measure. Do I just have to create a new track for that one measure? I have recorded some external sounds and transferred them to my Mac as WAV files. How can I get them in G-Band and use them as sampled sounds? I still have not found the "AU Sampler" that is supposedly in the app. How do you get to it? Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Tom - - Factory Apple Loops are stashed in Library > Audio > Apple Loops (on my Mac it's around 4GB, but that may include Logic content as well). I'd guess that GB will need to have some of them there (the ones that make up the "Essential Sounds" part of the library). - Unfortunately GB doesn't let you have multiple meters in a song—you'd have to graduate to Logic for that (and even then Drummer reportedly has problems with odd meters). :-) - The AUSampler is found in the Instrument plug-in menu in the Smart Controls pane for an Instrument track (see the screenshot). Tom, when you have multiple questions on different issues, could you post them as separate threads—it should make it easier for people searching for information on a particular topic.. Thanks :-)

Sure thing - thanks Joe! I did find the AU Sampler I'll search for the loops. Nice to know that even virtual drummers have problems with odd meters!! :-) Oh - Could not find the Logic Pro X Effects book you recommend above on the apple site - https://books.apple.com/us/book/logic-pro-x-effects/id960808317. Maybe they discontinued it? IS there a direct link to it somewhere? Thanks. T

You're welcome! Hmm, if that direct link doesn't work for you (it does here), maybe try accessing it from the link under User Guides on this Apple Support page.. https://support.apple.com/logic-pro Better yet, you could just open the included Books application, hit the Book Store button (upper left), and search for "Logic Pro X Effects"—it should pop up, ready to be downloaded.
