Hello everyone, thank you for any advice you could offer me. I have an ongoing issue that I am desperate to resolve ASAP. I am recording piano and voice simultaneously on GarageBand. I have a software track for my midi piano which is fine but the issue is my audio track for the vocals. I have an audio track which records the voice but also records the piano on the audio track as well as the midi track. It’s a nightmare as I cannot edit anything on the audio track. Also the piano sound that records on the audio track is the bog standard piano sound and sounds dreadful and the balance between the vocal mad piano isn’t right because I can’t manipulate this as they are recording together on the audio track as well as the piano the midi track. Does this make any sense...??? Would really really appreciate some help... oh thank you so much if anyone knows the answer...!!! Love and light xxx

Hi Lela - From your description it sounds like you must be listening to (monitoring) the piano over speakers while recording your voice through a microphone, and the mic is picking up not only your voice but also the sound coming out of the speakers (the piano) as well. If that's the case, you need to silence the speakers and listen on headphones while recording. (Ideally these would be closed headphones, so the mic won't pick up that hi-pitched sound that you hear with open headphones).
