    Apple Loops and Fade in/outs.
Hey guys, This forum has been incredibly helpful to me. I like the brainstorming here. Anyway, my question is, why is it that when I try to apply fade out or fade in on an Appleloop sample, it simply won't let me. I thought it could have something to do with previliges but I think I ruled it out. Please advise

Unfortunately, the crossfade tool does'nt work with appleloops. You can use automation instead. If you really want to use the crossfade tool, you will need to bounce the file(File/Bounce...) to Aiff or Wave. Make sure the "Add to Audio window" is selected. Import the new file from the Audio window to the arrangement. However, the new file won't be an appleloop... so make sure you have the right tempo before doing the bounce.

Well, you know if you work with lots of apple loops it might become a bit time-comsuming to bounce everytime you need to make a fade out, but I guess that's what it is for now, it has its pros and cons. I appreciate your comment.

7.0 used to let you fade out Apple Loops! It disappeared with later upgrades...

I wonder what rationale would be, it is a real drag! I always think of Pro Tools even though I love Logic.

Yeah, i wonder too ... I guess it could be a bit much if you change tempo a lot, as Logic has to go back and re-do all the fade files, but even still, how hard could that be? Anyway, there must be some reason ... it was working once upon a time ...

Here's an interesting apple doc I've found reguarding Apple Loops and fade with Logic 7.0. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301064
