Are the Logic compressors & EQs as good as I think they are? I've tried some of the add-on and have not heard that great a difference. Mostly interested in a channel strip...e.g., Waves SSL4000

Hi nj, Logic's compressors and channel eq are pretty good. It depends what material you are working with and what effect you want to achieve... Waves & UAD are well known as having great sounding compressors etc... I think Logic's Compressors' circuit types extra modes (Platinum..etc) have provided quite an interesting variation to the compressors sound. I love the Channel EQ but there are others who prefer more expensive EQ plug-ins from other 3rd party manufacturer's. My personal take is that I can achieve practically everything I need, plus more, using Logic's built-in instruments and plug-ins. Cheers Rounik
