What a great idea!! Very cool!! I have no interest in writing electronica music, but even I'm tempted to get this tutorial just to see how other people mix. I REALLY hope you get more guest artists to do other mixing tutorials for other generas; Rock, Orchestral, film scores, etc. Does the tutorial come with a demo song so you can try the stuff along with the videos? That would be ideal!

The video does not come with a demo song. But that is not important in this case because you spend most of the time watching the mixer instead of the arranger. You learn how to route and how to fit certain types of sounds into the mix. Although this is focused on electronic music there's a certain workflow you can use on other types of music aswell.

Its an awesome vid and definately one that ANYONE into dance music of any sort should put at the top of thier list. Hell, everyone should find something useful in this no matter what you produce! Olav Basoski its great at teaching too. Clear, not too slow at narrating and cuts any useless fluff out. 10/10 from me :) The guy sure loves his compression!

I'm with you Mac, it is an awesome vid... If it's not the type of music you're into don't let that stop you.This Tutorial offers much about mixing that can be judiciously applied across all styles of music. There is much to be learnt and it is presented in the MPV way we have come to love... Professional, to the point and on track. I watched the video and I must agree its a great video for what ever music you are into. :) I do electonica so its just what I was ooking for.

i dont mix electronica at all, but this is one of the best! very usefull and fun to listen...and watch best m.

This video is gerat! I have watched it twice already. Olav did a great job with it. I went to his website and he has written some great articles on there as well. It's some great stuff!! Steve H, Martin and now Olav make a great teaching team. I am glad to be customer of mac pro video!
