recording midi

hello all, i hope someone here can help with this...
ive got the m-audio keystation pro 88 controller and when i record midi in logic it records 5 midi notes stacked on top of each other.
what i mean is: when i hit a key once... it records 5 of that same note stacked on top of one another so the performance is very loud
so each time the melody is played it is 5 times louder than it ought to be.
when i record with the caps lock keyboard... it records 1 midi note per keystroke... which is normal and good
heres the thing... in ableton, i can record midi with my m audio controller and it records it with one note per keystroke..which is normal and good
so i don't think it is my controller.... it must be something in logic
can't seem to figure it out...please help
